The Kansas City Chiefs’ home and away opponents for the 2021 NFL season have been finalized.

The 2021 NFL schedule won’t officially be revealed until sometime in April, so we don’t have all the details on dates, times, and when the games will be played yet. However, now that the winner of the AFC South has been determined, the Chiefs’ opponents for next year are officially set. That includes the newly-introduced 17th regular-season opponent.

Take a look at those opponents and our reaction down below:

Chiefs open as underdogs vs. Chargers in Week 17

The Kansas City Chiefs are back home in pursuit of a 15-1 record in Week 17.

The Kansas City Chiefs (14-1) are set to be underdogs against the Los Angeles Chargers (6-9) at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 17.

Betting lines from BetMGM for Week 17 have been revealed and the Chiefs are 3.5-point underdogs to the Chargers. It’s the first time they haven’t been favorites since Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens. They were also 3.5-point underdogs during that game and won by 14 points.

The current money line is at +150 for Kansas City and -175 for Los Angeles. The over/under point total is set at 43.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 40% in this matchup.

It took a while for the oddsmakers to figure out this game because the Chiefs very well could rest most, if not all of their starters in Week 17. Andy Reid confirmed on Monday that the team would rest some players, but he didn’t go into much detail beyond that. He did say that Chad Henne would be the starting quarterback if Patrick Mahomes didn’t play on Sunday. That has clearly influenced the betting line for this game.

The Chargers have already been eliminated from playoff contention and they’re playing for bragging rights at this point. They’ll roll with rookie QB Justin Herbert at quarterback and they’re expected to get WR Keenan Allen back from injury this week. They should have the pieces in place to beat a team comprised of backup and reserve players.

This game could look a lot like Week 17 of 2013 when Chase Daniel led a group of reserve Chiefs players against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers won that game 27-24, but Daniel and the backups made a valiant effort, nearly winning the game.

Chiefs open as double-digit favorites over Falcons in Week 16

The Kansas City Chiefs are back home this week in pursuit of a 14-1 record.

[jwplayer Huuatmwd-ThvAeFxT]

The Kansas City Chiefs (13-1) are opening as favorites over the Atlanta Falcons (4-10) at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 16.

Betting lines from BetMGM for Week 16 have been revealed and the Chiefs are favored by 10 points. These teams have only played nine times since 1972, with their last regular-season meeting coming in Atlanta in 2016. The Falcons haven’t visited Arrowhead Stadium since 2012, prior to Andy Reid’s arrival with the team.

The current money line is at -500 for Kansas City and +375 for Atlanta. The over/under point total is set at 52.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 83.3% in this matchup.

This marks the beginning of a two-game homestand for Kansas City to end the season. They’ve been the best team in the NFL on the road this season, completing a clean sweep of road teams to go 8-0 on the season. Their lone loss came at home against the Las Vegas Raiders back in Week 5.

The Falcons have done a better job under interim HC Raheem Morris than they did under Dan Quinn earlier this season, but their record wouldn’t reveal as much. They’re currently coming off of a three-game losing streak, with their most recent loss coming to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They held a 17-point lead at one time during that game and failed to hold onto it.

Atlanta averages around 25.4 points per game this season and three of their wins have come when they score that much or more. If the Chiefs’ defense can hold the Falcons to 25 or fewer points, they should be looking at their fourteenth win of the season and a sweep of the NFC South division.

Matthew Stafford’s $6.5 million home up for sale

Matthew Stafford’s $6.5 million home is up for sale, but with a growing family, fans need to be careful not to overreact.

Just hours after meeting with the local media Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford’s $6.5 million home in Bloomfield Township went up for sale.

The Stafford’s home has been rumored to be on the market all offseason — well before any trade rumors surfaced — but all attempts to confirm these rumors surrounding the sale had been declined.

There is bound to be plenty of speculation surrounding what this means for the future of the Lions quarterback, it’s important to remember most of the time these decisions come from non-football related situations.

For example, the Stafford’s have three daughters, two of whom are approaching school age, with a fourth child on the way. This is the time in their life when families are considering school districts and more kid-friendly homes — the Stafford’s bought the home in 2013 before any of their children were born.

There is always the possibility this a football-related move, but that concept appears to be founded in speculation only.

All offseason, the Lions have vigorously denied every trade rumor, made no roster moves to suggest they have considered moving on from him, and just yesterday, Stafford himself shrugging off those trade rumors.

“I really don’t pay too much attention to (the trade rumors),” Stafford said. “I pay less attention to them than my wife (Kelly) does. But it’s something that doesn’t bother me. Listen, I’m here, I want to be here. I love being a Detroit Lion, I love leading this team. all that kind of stuff is just out there to be out there. It’s a slow news month at that point and I’m just happy to be where I am and ready to deal with this offseason the way that it is and try to make the best of the season that I hope happens.”

There is bound to be plenty of speculation as to why the Stafford’s have put their house up for sale, but all indications point to this just being a typical off-the-field situation for a growing family.

Seahawks tied at No. 13 in Touchdown Wire’s list of strength of schedules

The Seattle Seahawks are tied at No. 13 in Touchdown Wire’s look at the weakest to toughest strength of schedules for the 2020 NFL season.

The National Football League revealed the 2020 NFL regular-season schedules last week and the Seattle Seahawks look to make the most of their matchups.

Slated for four prime-time games this year, the Seahawks hope to shine on the national stage to add to their impressive record in the spotlight. Seattle will travel more miles than any team in the league in 2020 and must find a way to stay healthy after an early, Week 6 bye.

Based solely on the record of a team’s opponents in 2019, Barry Werner of Touchdown Wire has put together his list of weakest to toughest strength of schedules. He has Seattle tied at No. 13.

“The Seahawks are a perennial threat, and almost always get to double-digits in wins,” Werner writes. “They figure to be right around that total again in 2020. SOS: .508, 129-125-2.”

Seattle kicks off its regular season on the road against the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT. You can view the Seahawks’ full schedule with score predictions in the gallery below.
