Chiefs open as slight favorites over Saints in Week 15

The Kansas City Chiefs hit the road for the final time this week in pursuit of a 13-1 record.

[jwplayer qLoEf0nU-ThvAeFxT]

The Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) are opening favorites over the New Orleans Saints (10-3) on the road in Week 15.

Several betting lines from BetMGM for Week 15 have dropped and Kansas City is slightly favored in the opening line. This is the first time they’ll have faced the Saints since 2016 and the first time they’ve been to New Orleans for a game since 2012.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 3.5-point favorites over the Saints. The current money line is at -200 for Kansas City and +540 for New Orleans. The over/under point total is set at 51.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 66.67% in this matchup.

The Saints are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. They’ve been riding how with Taysom Hill while Drew Brees has been sidelined with an injury. Kansas City will be tasked with preparing for both quarterbacks this week as Brees is close to making a return.

The Chiefs are coming off a hard-fought game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. It was an uncharacteristic game for QB Patrick Mahomes, who threw three interceptions. The team rallied behind their quarterback, however, resulting in a 20-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Miami closed the gap, but the lead was too much for them to overcome. They’ve now won eight-straight games, with their only loss coming in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

No matter the QB situation for the Saints, this Week 15 matchup will have one of the league’s best offenses facing one of the league’s best defensive units. The Saints need a win and a loss by the Packers to regain the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Chiefs can technically drop this game and still hold onto the No. 1 seed in the AFC, so long as they win their final two games of the season.

Chiefs open as road favorites over Dolphins in Week 14

The Kansas City Chiefs hit the road this week in pursuit of a 12-1 record.

[jwplayer V3Nfs52F-ThvAeFxT]

The Kansas City Chiefs (11-1) are opening favorites over the Miami Dolphins (8-4) on the road in Week 14.

BetMGM’s betting lines for Week 14 have dropped and the Chiefs are favored by a touchdown in the early goings. This marks the first time they’ve returned to Hard Rock Stadium since winning Super Bowl LIV. With plenty of returners from that Super Bowl-winning team, you can rest assured that there will be a sense of nostalgia.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 7-point favorites over the Dolphins. The current money line is at -334 for Kansas City and +540 for Miami. The over/under point total is set at 48.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 76.96% in this matchup.

Kansas City last faced the Dolphins in 2017, but the team hasn’t traveled to Miami for a game since 2014. The Dolphins own the series between the two teams with a 16-14-0 overall record since 1966. The Chiefs are 6-6 against the spread this season while Miami holds a 9-3 record against the spread.

Both teams currently hold a playoff spot, but Kansas City is the only team to have clinched thus far. The Dolphins are coming off of a win against the Cincinnati Bengals, while Kansas City just defeated the Denver Broncos at home. The Chiefs are still playing for seeding, but Miami still has a chance to catch up to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. They’re an ascendant team that should be highly motivated to knock off the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Chiefs open as massive favorites over Broncos in Week 13

The Kansas City Chiefs are back home this week in pursuit of an 11-1 record.

The Kansas City Chiefs (10-1) are opening favorites over the Denver Broncos (4-7) on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 13.

BetMGM’s betting lines for Week 13 have dropped and the Chiefs are favored heavily over the Broncos. It’s the most they’ve been favored by since Week 8 this season when they were 20-point favorites over the New York Jets.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 13.5-point favorites over the Broncos. The current money line is at -834 for Kansas City and +540 for Denver. The over/under point total is set at 49.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 89.29% in this matchup.

The Broncos are tasked with traveling to Kansas City to play at Arrowhead Stadium for their second meeting with the Chiefs this year. When the two teams played in Denver in Week 7, the game a Kansas City blowout and the Broncos were nearly at full strength. Now they’re dealing with injuries to Bryce Callahan and Phillip Lindsay, not to mention the quarterback situation.

Denver is coming off of a game where they were forced to start practice squad receiver, Kendall Hinton, at quarterback due to a COVID-19 exposure that knocked out the quarterback room. Hinton completed just one pass in a blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints, throwing more interceptions than completions. Drew Lock has a chance to return this week, but it’s not yet certain after exposure to COVID-19.  It is, however, telling that BetMGM didn’t even wait for the quarterback situation to get sorted out before releasing the opening line.

The Chiefs are coming off of a six-game win streak. They’ve won 10-straight games against the Broncos dating back to the 2015 season. This will also be their first home game in front of a limited crowd since Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers in the beginning of November.

Chiefs open as double-digit favorites over Panthers in Week 9

The Kansas City Chiefs are back home for the second-straight week and in pursuit of an 8-1 record.

The Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) are double-digit favorites over the Carolina Panthers (3-5) in Week 9.

BetMGM’s opening betting lines for Week 8 have been released and once again they favor the Chiefs. After their thorough dismantling of the New York Jets in Week 8, it’s not exactly surprising to see Kansas City favored over a team with a record below .500.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 12-point favorites over the Panthers. The current money line is at -625 for Kansas City and +455 for Carolina. The over/under point total is set at 50.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 86.2% in this matchup.

This game doesn’t quite reach the rarity of last week’s point spread, but the Chiefs are still huge favorites heading into Week 9. It’s not a big surprise as they’re 6-2 against the spread on the season, including picking up a win in last week’s 20-point spread. This could be a week where oddsmakers can get over on Kansas City when it comes to the point spread.

The Panthers are poised to get back one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey. They’re coming off of a long week to prepare after playing “Thursday Night Football” in Week 8. That certainly will improve their chances to at least stay competitive against the reigning Super Bowl champions.

The thing that the Chiefs have going for them in this one is coaching. Andy Reid is one of the winningest coaches in NFL history and can take sole ownership of No. 5 all-time in NFL wins with a win next Sunday. He should be able to come up with a gameplan to neutralize first-year NFL HC Matt Rhule’s offense and exploit the Carolina defense with relative ease.

Chiefs open as monster favorites over Jets in Week 8

The Kansas City Chiefs are back home this week in pursuit of a 7-1 record.

The Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) are favored by a landslide over the New York Jets (0-7) in Week 8.

BetMGM’s betting lines for Week 8 have dropped and they have the Chiefs favored heavily. What can you truly expect when you have the reigning Super Bowl champions going against a winless team at their home stadium?

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 20-point favorites over the Jets. The current money line is at -3334 for Kansas City and +1300 for New York. The over/under point total is set at 48.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 96.15% in this matchup.

As far as betting goes, the point spread in this game is quite rare. It doesn’t quite rival the largest point spread in NFL history, which was the Broncos favored by 26.5 points over the Jaguars back in 2013. It is actually the most that Kansas City has been favored by in the Super Bowl era. This surpasses the 16-point spread they were part of back in 2018, when the Chiefs were favored to beat the Arizona Cardinals. K.C. won that game, but it was one of the few games that season where they didn’t cover the spread. Perhaps that’s a sign of how to handle your bets heading into this game.

This Chiefs team will continue to get everyone’s best shot and that includes a winless Jets team. Nothing could turn around their fortunes more than defeating the reigning champs, it might even buy Adam Gase a few extra weeks in charge. Kansas City will likely rely on a massive helping of a vengeful Le’Veon Bell in Week 8 as he faces his former team.

Chiefs open as big favorites over Broncos in Week 7

Kansas City goes to Denver as favorites after a Week 6 win on the road.

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) are big favorites on the road against the Denver Broncos (2-3) in Week 7.

BetMGM’s betting lines for Week 7 have the Chiefs listed as favorites over their AFC West division rival Broncos. Both teams are coming off of wins in Week 6. Kansas City knocked off the Buffalo Bills and Denver took down the Patriots, only kicking field goals on their way to victory.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 9.5-point favorites over the Broncos. The current money line is at -477 for Kansas City and +355 for Denver. The over/under point total is set at 46.5 points. The Chiefs have an implied win probability of 80.65% in this matchup.

This seems a bit overzealous by the oddsmakers. 9.5 points ties for the second-highest margin that Kansas City has been favored by so far this season. The last time they were favored by 9.5 points was Week 1 against the Houston Texans. The highest mark was the team’s Week 5 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, ahead of which they were favored by 12 points.

This is a road matchup against a division rival that hasn’t had much success against the Chiefs lately. The Broncos are coming off a game where they failed to score a touchdown, but their offense is certainly capable of doing some damage. Overall it feels like the recipe for what is often considered a trap game, so bettors should proceed with caution on this one.
