Usher snuggling up with Alicia Keys at his Super Bowl halftime show led to the same Swizz Beatz joke

Did somebody tell Usher that Alicia Keys is married?

Usher got up close and personal with Alicia Keys during his Super Bowl halftime show, and the internet all made the same jokes about her husband, Swizz Beatz.

Usher’s halftime performance was spectacular. Like his Las Vegas residency, it brought all the glitz and glam of the city to the Super Bowl. It also had guest appearances from some familiar faces during Usher’s career, like Lil Jon and Ludacris. But it’s his performance with Alicia Keys that has the internet talking.

Usher brought out his My Boo counterpart to the delight of the crowd and wrapped his arms around her while they were singing. Viewers could also see Alicia lean back into him and let out a playful laugh.

The internet immediately caught the details of the moment, and all made the same husband-related joke.

The Kansas City Chiefs face a seven-point deficit heading into halftime at Allegiant Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

Their offense has had a hard time finding its footing, and with two quarters left to play, Kansas City faces an uphill battle to earn a lead and win their second-straight championship.

Kansas City’s fate in Super Bowl LVIII has yet to be decided, Usher’s excellence during the intermission was a worthy diversion for Chiefs fans everywhere.

Usher arrived at Super Bowl 58 seemingly wearing a blanket and NFL fans immediately had jokes

Is it a blanket? Is it a rug? Nobody knows, but the jokes are hysterical.

On Sunday, Usher arrived at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl 58 just hours before his performance, looking happy and in good spirits. Still, fans immediately jumped in with jokes that the covering he was using on top of his clothing had to be a rug or blanket.

So much speculation has been happening about Usher’s Super Bowl 58 halftime performance. What songs will he perform? Will there be special guests? But not very many people have been talking about what he will wear leading up to his big show until now. Cameras were rolling when Usher arrived at Allegiant Stadium sporting all-black clothes and a unique covering.

Fans immediately assumed that the covering was some sort of blanket or rug, and the jokes started flying.

The halftime acts from Thanksgiving 2023 have received a lot of conversation over the course of the week. The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys host Thanksgiving every year, so more than any team that gets the evening window, they are professionals at the process. The Lions went new school with rapper Jack Harlow. Reception to his performance was… not ideal.

The Cowboys went classic, bringing out Dolly Parton. While most of the online audience questioned whether or not the country music icon had songs they were familiar with, she certainly captivated the audience when she came out dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Here were some of the best twitter reactions.

Justina Miles’ ASL performance of Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show will have you hyped all over again

Find someone who had more fun during halftime than Miles. You can’t.

Chances are you’re still replaying Rihanna’s incredible Super Bowl 57 halftime show in your head even after getting a full night of rest.

This is completely understandable. RiRi’s first performance since 2018 absolutely lived up to the hype and then some — not the least of all because she took the stage while pregnant.

But arguably no one had more fun during the show than Justina Miles, a 20-year-old deaf American Sign Language performer from Philadelphia who got to sign Rihanna’s performance as well as the Black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” alongside Sheryl Lee Ralph.

That right there is pure and infectious joy.

Speaking to the media before her Super Bowl debut, Miles said she was thrilled not only to perform alongside Rihanna, but also Abbott Elementary star Ralph during the pregame show while providing a moment of visibility for the Black deaf community.

“To really bring that empowerment to millions and millions of Black deaf people all over the country who’ve never really seen that before. I feel that is truly lifting every voice, even my voice.” Miles said via an interpreter.

As for the halftime show, Miles just wanted to make sure those following along in ASL had as much fun as she did.

“I value the opportunity to make it possible for all deaf people to enjoy these songs, and not have them miss out on the full Super Bowl experience,” Miles said.

As clips of Miles from Sunday continue to go viral, it’s obvious she did just that.

Watch: Red Panda performs halftime show at Notre Dame

Prepare to be blown away if you haven’t seen this act.

Since I was covering both games at Purcell Pavilion this past weekend, my wife and I spent two nights just off the Notre Dame campus. In between a pair of Irish losses, we made the most of our time. We attended Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and we caught the national tour production of “Fiddler on the Roof”, which happened to be in South Bend for the weekend. But I also found entertainment in a way I didn’t expect, specifically the halftime entertainment for the two basketball games.

For some time now, I have seen basketball reporters on Twitter make a fuss whenever Red Panda has been the halftime entertainment at games. If she had performed at any games I had attended in the past, I have no idea because I typically get up and go to the bathroom during halftime. But during a first-half timeout during Saturday’s men’s game, a graphic on the video board said Red Panda would be performing during halftime. No longer wanting to be among the uninitiated, I chose to stay at my spot on press row.

As our wonderful editor Nick Shepkowski told me later, you never forget your first time with Red Panda. I was blown away by the things the acrobat could do. Doing only one of riding a tall unicycle or balancing and then flipping bowls perfectly onto the top of your head would be difficult for most people. But she’s been doing this for a long time now, and fans stay in their seats just to watch her.

When I returned to Purcell Pavilion for the women’s game the next day, it occurred to me that Red Panda might appear again. Sure enough, she was announced as the halftime entertainment. This time, I figured I should record the performance for my wife as well as you lovely readers. And so, ladies and gentlemen, I give you Red Panda:

One interesting fact about this past weekend is that she needed three attempts to nail the final flip during her first performance. She didn’t need any redos for her second show, so I’m glad I captured this particular one. Even a professional juggler will drop things once in a while, so I guess she’s entitled to a few imperfections of her own.

Hopefully, you’re lucky enough to be at a basketball game with Red Panda at some point in the future. Resist the urge to hit the restroom or the concession stand if you know she’s going to perform. Believe me when I say that sticking around for her is totally worth it. Here’s to her continuing to thrill basketball crowds for many years to come.
