Ohio State misses out on 4-star 2024 offensive tackle

On to the next one for the Buckeyes #GoBucks

It didn’t look like [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] was in the plan for 2024 Massachusetts offensive tackle [autotag]Guerby Lambert[/autotag].

His final three schools were the Buckeyes, Notre Dame and Harvard. One of those schools isn’t nearly respected academically as the other two, and it really wasn’t a surprise when Lambert announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish.

It’s been a struggle for the Buckeyes to find an elite offensive tackle in the 2024 class. Their current commits are very solid prospects, but none is ranked inside the top 150 on the 247Sports composite.

Ohio State still has a few prospects they are pursuing, such as Jordan Seaton and Brandon Baker. It needs to land one of these two if it wants to have a great 2024 offensive line haul.

Yet another big time tackle prospect will land in South Bend

[autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag]’s offensive line just got a bit more depth on Tuesday evening as Massachusetts offensive tackle [autotag]Guerby Lambert[/autotag] committed to the Irish.

The 2024 prospect is a tackle all the way, standing 6-foot, 6-inches and weighing 280-pounds. The Irish beat out Ohio State and Harvard for Lambert’s verbal.

The final piece of the 2024 classes offensive line commitments as he joins [autotag]Peter Jones[/autotag], [autotag]Styles Prescod[/autotag], and [autotag]Anthonie Knapp[/autotag]. Lambert is the highest ranked prospect of the bunch, as he’s the No. 8 tackle and 117th overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

After watching his junior film, it’s easy to see why many believe he is one of the best players in the country. Find out below what skills Lambert will bring with him to South Bend.

Notre Dame lands elite offensive line commitment ahead of Ohio State game

Notre Dame’s second win of the week and it’s only Tuesday. Huge get!

For the second day in a row, Notre Dame has landed a top-tier offensive talent in recruiting.  Monday saw 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight announce his commitment while Tuesday evening saw one of the best offensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting cycle announce his.

Guerby Lambert, a four-star prospect from Massachusetts, chose the Irish over Ohio State while having offers from other powerhouses such as Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, and plenty of others.

Just how highly is Lambert regarded?

Lambert checks in as the the No. 49 overall player in nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings.  He’s the second-rated offensive tackle in the entire nation top-rated player from Massachusetts.

Lambert checks in at 6-6, 280-pounds and depending who potentially leaves for the NFL draft next spring, could be in the mix to start on Notre Dame’s offensive line as a true freshman next fall.

Lambert is the 23rd commitment in Notre Dame’s 2024 class and fourth offensive lineman commit.

Remaining top targets for Ohio State football in the 2024 recruiting class

Which top remaining targets would you like to see join the 2024 Buckeyes class? #GoBucks

As we all know, [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] scored a massive recruiting win on Tuesday evening when five-star defensive lineman [autotag]Eddrick Houston[/autotag] committed to the Buckeyes.

The huge addition brings the 2024 Ohio State recruiting class to 22: 13 on offense, 8 on defense and one specialist. As many as four more players could  join the class, but that doesn’t mean head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] is looking only at that number of remaining prospects.

Find out below which recruits that the Buckeyes are still actively going after and an update on their recruitment and when they might commit. (All recruiting rankings are via the 247Sports Composite Rankings.)

Four-star Ohio State target gets crystal ball prediction for Notre Dame

Can Ohio State sway the No. 2 tackle in the country to come to Columbus? #GoBucks

Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team are still hot on the recruiting trail to round out the 2024 class. The Buckeyes have had some huge recruiting wins of late, they appear to have an uphill climb to land four-star offensive tackle Guerby Lambert.

Lambert, who is the No. 2 tackle in the class on the 247Sports composite, recently listed his top four schools. They are Ohio State, Boston College, Notre Dame and, surprisingly, Harvard.

Hailing from West Roxbury, Massachusetts, all reports say he is just as concerned about academics and faith as he is about football. To have OSU listed with the other three is a win all by itself and speaks to the family values Ryan Day preaches.

However, the call of South Bend might be too much. Lambert has received three crystal ball predictions to land with the Fighting Irish.

Lambert has been quoted as saying about Notre Dame: “They just say how much it means to get me on their team.”

Don’t think that will stop Ohio State from pursuing the coveted recruit, however. All signs point to Lambert announcing his commitment sooner rather than later, so we may know his decision in the near future.

Even if the Buckeyes miss on Lambert, they are still in good position with the No. 1 tackle in the land, Brandon Baker. It is rumored Ohio State has made a very good impression with Baker and is high on his list.

Landing both would be something special as the Buckeyes continue to build an outstanding 2024 class.

Notre Dame trending to add 2024 top 50 offensive tackle

There might be good news later in the summer

One of the nations best offensive tackles, [autotag]Guerby Lambert[/autotag] has narrowed down his commitment date to August, according to this report by 247Sports Brian Dohn.

[autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], along with Ohio State, Harvard and Boston College are the finalist for the 6-foot, 6-inch and 280 pound lineman. Lambert is rated as the 2nd offensive tackle and 47th overall player according to the 247Sports composite.

Adding more fuel to the Irish leading his recruitment fire is this report by On3’s Chad Simmons, Lambert told him “Notre Dame, they just say how much it means to get me on their team.” If you look at his finalists, Notre Dame has the best mix of academics and athletics of the final four.

The Irish will need some offensive lineman to step up, especially if both junior tackles, [autotag]Joe Alt[/autotag] and [autotag]Blake Fisher[/autotag], opt to leave early after this coming season.

Alabama extends offer to 2024 OL from Massachusetts

2024 offensive lineman Guerby Lambert received an offer from Alabama. He is the highest ranked prospect in Massachusetts.

Alabama’s coaching staff recently extended an offer to highly-ranked, 2024 offensive tackle Guerby Lambert. The Massachusetts native has already received 14 offers up to this point. He will likely receive even more as he nears his senior year at Catholic Memorial High School.

The Tide has had a lot of success recruiting offensive linemen from the North. Several current players like JC Latham, Emil Ekiyor, and Darrian Dalcourt all committed to the Tide from states in “Big Ten territory”.

Lambert won’t be easy to pry away from the programs like Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan. However, the Alabama coaching staff has seen success, so it is not fair to count the Tide out. There is plenty of time left to recruit Lambert.

Tigers offer four-star offensive tackle prospect from Massachusetts

The Tigers are dipping into Brian Kelly’s home state to find a bulldozing offensive line prospect.

[autotag]Guerby Lambert[/autotag] is a 2024 four-star, 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle from West Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he plays for Catholic Memorial High School. The Catholic Memorial Knights finished last season 12-0 and won the MIAA Division 2 state championship. Along with football, Lambert also participates in track and field.

Film Analysis: Lambert is a bulldozer. He dominates his side of the line and wins at the point of attack on nearly every play. You always need that one guy on your line that, if you need a yard or two, you line up and run it behind that guy. Lambert would work very well in the type of offense that [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] wants to run at LSU.
