Highlights: Incoming Georgia transfer WR Michael Jackson

What does USC transfer Michael Jackson III bring to Georgia football?

Incoming Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Michael Jackson III is transferring to Athens, Georgia, from the USC Trojans. The junior wide receiver has battled injuries throughout his career, but has a great deal of talent.

Jackson is very effective in the screen game and is touch to tackle after the catch. Jackson is physical at the catch point and should see snaps in the Georgia offense.

The 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver from Las Vegas, Nevada, has one season of eligibility remaining. Jackson caught passes from star USC quarterback Caleb Williams the past two seasons. Jackson is a former three-star recruit.

247Sports ranks Jackson as the No. 360 transfer in this cycle and the No. 66 wide receiver. Jackson is a three-star recruit as a transfer, but if he can stay healthy, he has an opportunity to outperform this ranking.

Let’s take a look at Michael Jackson’s career highlights and stats:

Georgia football transfers are seeing a lot of action during the first three weeks of the college football season

Georgia football players tend to shine when they find new homes. The Bulldogs lost 15 players to the NCAA transfer portal in the 2023 offseason. The Dawgs lost additional talent in the 2021 and 2022 transfer windows.

Former Georgia receiver Adonai Mitchell has played the best of any Georgia transfer to start the season. Mitchell had a massive game in Week 2 as the Texas Longhorns upset the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Let’s take a look at how some of the top Georgia football transfers performed during the first three weeks of the college football season:

Former Bulldogs are two of CFB’s best remaining players in transfer portal

Georgia wide receiver Dominick Blaylock is ranked as the No. 5 player left in the transfer portal. Blaylock has overcome multiple injuries throughout his college career. He offers a veteran presence to any wide receiver room.

Blaylock caught 15 passes for 227 receiving yards and a touchdown in 2022. He helped Georgia win back-to-back national championships. Blaylock is likely looking for a larger role at his new team.

Georgia cornerback Jaheim Singletary, a former five-star recruit, is 247Sports’ top remaining player in the transfer portal. Singletary appeared in three games in 2022 for the Bulldogs, but did not record a tackle. He has substantial talent and could start right away if his new home needs help at the cornerback position.

247Sports ranks Singletary as the No. 21 player to enter the transfer portal. It considers Dominick Blaylock to be the No. 373 player in the portal.

There will be a lot more activity in the transfer portal following spring practice.

New athletes can enter the transfer portal following spring practice on May 1. It will mark the first time since January that players can enter the transfer portal. Players, such as Dominick Blaylock and Jaheim Singletary, can transfer whenever they want once they have their name in the transfer portal.

Several UGA transfers shine in CFB Week 1

The Georgia Bulldogs gained and lost a bunch of talent via the transfer portal. Several UGA transfers played well for their new teams.

The Georgia Bulldogs gained and lost a bunch of talent via the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. The transfer portal saw record numbers of activity.

Georgia gained key players Arik Gilbert, Tykee Smith and Derion Kendrick. At the same time, UGA lost Demetris Robertson, Jermaine Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson and many more.

It will be interesting to see if Georgia’s gains from the transfer portal outweigh their loses at the end of the 2021 college football season.

What former Georgia Bulldogs made the biggest impact for their new teams?

What Georgia Bulldogs are in the NCAA transfer portal? Who has already transferred from the University of Georgia?

The Georgia Bulldogs lose and gain a significant amount of talent each offseason via the transfer portal. This offseason is no different.

The 2020 college football season does not count against a player’s eligibility, so seniors can return.

Additionally, transfers are immediately eligible to play at their new program. The University of Georgia gained a key player from the portal last season in quarterback JT Daniels. Who will the Dawgs get this season? Georgia has seen more players leave the program than transfer to it thus far.

Georgia Bulldogs who have transferred this offseason:

Georgia has solid depth at quarterback with JT Daniels, Stetson Bennett, and Brock Vandagriff.

Stevenson’s transfer is Georgia’s largest transfer loss this offseason. He will be closer to home with the Miami Hurricanes. Georgia is already losing numerous secondary members to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jermaine Johnson would’ve been arguably Georgia’s best pass rusher in 2021. Instead, he’ll play another senior season for the Florida State Seminoles.

Georgia football DL Netori Johnson picks transfer destination

Georgia Bulldogs lineman Netori Johnson entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this offseason and is now transferring to Middle Tennessee

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this offseason and is now transferring to Middle Tennessee. Johnson was looking to break out during his junior season at Georgia, but didn’t see the field much.

Johnson switched positions to end the 2018 season and now has collegiate  experience on the defensive side of the football. The six-foot-four, 320 pounder came to the University of Georgia as a well-regarded offensive line recruit.

Johnson was impactful in limited playing time throughout 2019, where he played in four games. He recorded a sack against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and secured a fourth down stop against Murray State in 2019. It will be interesting to see if Netori Johnson plays defensive line or offensive line for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

In 2020, Johnson only played in the season opener against the Arkansas Razorbacks. With a conference-only schedule, the Bulldogs had limited playing time available for some of the depth players.

Netori Johnson is a former four-star prospect out of Cedar Grove High School. We wish him the best with Middle Tennessee.

This offseason is unique and will have a lot amount of roster turnover because players don’t lose a year of eligibility for the 2020 college football season. Johnson is one of many Georgia Bulldogs to enter the transfer portal this offseason.

Johnson announced his decision to transfer to Middle Tennessee via his Twitter account:

Georgia football DL Netori Johnson enters transfer portal

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson has entered in the NCAA transfer portal. Johnson is a former four-star recruit for UGA.

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson, who wears No. 72, has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Johnson is Georgia’s third player to enter the portal in recent days. Johnson was looking to break out during his junior season, but he hasn’t seen the field much.

He racked up a sack against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and secured a fourth down stop against Murray State last year.

This season, Johnson has only played in the season opener against the Arkansas Razorbacks. It has been a tough season for depth players on Georgia’s roster. With a conference-only schedule, the Bulldogs haven’t won as many blowouts and that’s limited playing time for some of the lesser known Dawgs.

Netori Johnson will have interest as a transfer. He is a former four-star prospect out of Cedar Grove High School. Where will he go next? We wish him the best.

Johnson can still return to Georgia. It must be noted that not every player who enters the transfer portal ends up transferring. This offseason is projected to have a tremendous amount of roster change because players don’t lose a year of eligibility for the 2020 college football season.

Here’s Johnson’s big sack from the 2019 season:
