The Georgia Bulldogs lose and gain a significant amount of talent each offseason via the transfer portal. This offseason is no different.
The 2020 college football season does not count against a player’s eligibility, so seniors can return.
Additionally, transfers are immediately eligible to play at their new program. The University of Georgia gained a key player from the portal last season in quarterback JT Daniels. Who will the Dawgs get this season? Georgia has seen more players leave the program than transfer to it thus far.
Georgia Bulldogs who have transferred this offseason:
- Quarterback D’Wan Mathis transferred to the Temple Owls
Georgia has solid depth at quarterback with JT Daniels, Stetson Bennett, and Brock Vandagriff.
- Tight end Kolby Wyatt transferred to Hawaii
- Defensive back Tyrique Stevenson is transferring to Miami
Stevenson’s transfer is Georgia’s largest transfer loss this offseason. He will be closer to home with the Miami Hurricanes. Georgia is already losing numerous secondary members to the 2021 NFL Draft.
- Outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson has transferred to Florida State
Jermaine Johnson would’ve been arguably Georgia’s best pass rusher in 2021. Instead, he’ll play another senior season for the Florida State Seminoles.
- Defensive lineman Netori Johnson is transferring to Middle Tennessee
- Wide receiver Makiya Tongue, a former four-star recruit, has transferred to Oregon State
- Wide receiver Trey Blount has transferred to Old Dominion

- Wide receiver Matt Landers has entered the transfer portal
- Kicker Brooks Buce remains in the NCAA transfer portal
