The Georgia Bulldogs have landed a commitment from 3-star running back Cash Jones as a preferred walk-on.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered running back Cash Jones. Jones is a member of the class of 2021. It is currently unclear if he’s receiving a scholarship offer, but it is presumed he is a preferred walk-on.

Jones plays high school football in Brock, Texas. He is only a three-star recruit, but his tape tells a different story. Now, he’s committed to the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on.

Jones committed to New Mexico State in December, but Kirby Smart and company helped convince Jones flip his decision. Jones announced his commitment to the University of Georgia via his Twitter account:

Jones is yet another example of Georgia’s recruiting prowess. The Bulldogs also landed a three-star preferred walk-on in offensive lineman Weston Wallace last season.

On tape, Cash Jones flashes outstanding vision, patience and short area quickness at the high school level. He played in a triple option offense and has shown the versatility to play running back, wide receiver, defensive back and even quarterback.

He constantly makes explosive plays at the high school level. Jones is also a threat in the return game.

The Paulding County High School linebacker plays football in Dallas, Georgia. Mondon ranks as the nation’s No. 29 overall player, the No. 2 outside linebacker and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia, per 247Sports.

Kirby Smart and Georgia are securing the state’s top talent this year. The Dawgs have signed three out of four total in-state five-star recruits.

At six-foot-three and 220 pounds, Mondon will be a versatile linebacker in college football. He also plays running back in high school.

In addition to football, Mondon competed in the 100 meters, 200, long jump and triple jump for the Paulding County track team last year. He has solid speed, which is key for linebackers in modern college football. Sideline to sideline speed will help him cover running backs in the passing game, an immediate need for the Georgia Bulldog defense.

The Georgia Bulldogs & numerous SEC schools made the top ten for four-star outside linebacker Deontae Lawson, who plays at Mobile Christian.

After a busy and successful 2020 signing day, Georgia football is back to the recruiting trails. Today, the Bulldogs made the top ten for four-star outside linebacker Deontae Lawson.

Lawson plays football at Mobile Christian School in Mobile, Alabama and is a member of the class of 2021. He released his top schools via Twitter:

Lawson’s top ten of UGA, Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Nebraska, LSU, Oregon, and Texas A&M leaves the field wide open on his recruitment. There’s loads of talented teams and excellent programs along that list.

Could Lawson be the next great linebacker at Georgia? We’ll have to wait and see. At 6-3, 208 lbs, Lawson will be adding weight before his senior season in Mobile.

Georgia currently has two commitments in the class of 2021 in David Daniel and Jared Wilson. Kirby Smart and his staff will begin to focus more and more on the class of 2021. For now, they’ll prepare for the Sugar Bowl and look to finish off the class of 2020 strong.
