Georgia football lands 3-star running back Cash Jones

The Georgia Bulldogs have landed a commitment from 3-star running back Cash Jones as a preferred walk-on.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered running back Cash Jones. Jones is a member of the class of 2021. It is currently unclear if he’s receiving a scholarship offer, but it is presumed he is a preferred walk-on.

Jones plays high school football in Brock, Texas. He is only a three-star recruit, but his tape tells a different story. Now, he’s committed to the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on.

Jones committed to New Mexico State in December, but Kirby Smart and company helped convince Jones flip his decision. Jones announced his commitment to the University of Georgia via his Twitter account:

Jones is yet another example of Georgia’s recruiting prowess. The Bulldogs also landed a three-star preferred walk-on in offensive lineman Weston Wallace last season.

On tape, Cash Jones flashes outstanding vision, patience and short area quickness at the high school level. He played in a triple option offense and has shown the versatility to play running back, wide receiver, defensive back and even quarterback.

He constantly makes explosive plays at the high school level. Jones is also a threat in the return game.

Check out his elite high school football highlights. There are questions about the level of competition he’s facing and his size, but regardless Jones has impressive and versatile tape:

Jones is the star of the show at Brock High School. According to his Twitter account, Jones scored 35 touchdowns last season and racked up over 3,000 total yards. Jones isn’t the biggest back, but he flashes all the tools.
