FSU is home, for all intents and purposes, playing in front of a pro-Noles crowd in Orlando. And Oklahoma is missing 2 key O-linemen and its leading rusher, so the offense should struggle against a very good Seminoles D.

However, laying more than 3 times your potential return is not a good bet, as there is no value.

PASS, and look to the line instead.

Against the spread

FLORIDA STATE -10 (-113) is worth a look, as it should be able to get it done by double digits against an Oklahoma side which is a shell of its former self.

The Sooners should really struggle without Gray and Morris giving them a solid run game. Oklahoma will have to pass more, and that’s something which wasn’t really a strong suit. Plus, with Morris and Harrison out, the O-line will be rather patchwork.

FSU ranked 14th in the regular season with just 307.3 total yards per game allowed, while allowing just 158.9 yards per game through the air to check in 3rd overall. Oklahoma’s D is horrific, allowing 29.6 PPG, 450.5 total yards per game and 189.0 rushing yards per contest.

This has the makings of a potential blowout.

Over/Under

OVER 66.5 (-108) is the lean here, although go lightly.

FSU shouldn’t have any problem moving the ball up and down the field against a bad Oklahoma defense. The question is whether the Sooners can do enough against a very good FSU defense to inch this game across the finish line for a winning ticket.

On the other side, Florida State has earned a no-confidence vote until further notice. Trouble both shooting the ball and rebounding is not a recipe for success.

Despite Anthony Richardson throwing for 400 yards Saturday, Florida was beaten 31-24 as 14-point favorites by the Vanderbilt Commodores. It was the 2nd time Richardson passed for more than 400 yards and the Gators lost (453 yards and 2 TD in the 38-33 loss to Tennessee on Sept. 24).

Florida State beat UL-Lafayette 49-17 on Saturday, covering the 22.5-point spread. The Seminoles ran for 251 yards. Against a Florida defense which is susceptible to the run, the Seminoles and QB Jordan Travis will look to replicate these numbers.

Although Travis was only 9 of 14 passing against UL-Lafayette for 112 yards and 1 TD, his true value is as a runner where he ran 5 times for 38 yards and 2 TDs. This will be a fun matchup of 2 elite running QBs. The winner will be the defense that can stop the other team’s QB more often.

Against the spread

FLORIDA STATE -9.5 (-112).

Florida is on the right path for the future. Coach Billy Napier is bringing in the recruits Dan Mullen wouldn’t and 2023 will be a better year for the Gators. But Florida State has started its ascension this season under Travis and coach Mike Norville. After a Week 1 victory over LSU, the Seminoles has stayed hot for most of the season, and they will look to finish off strong.

Florida does not have the defense to hold up against FSU’s run game and it will show during this matchup. Florida State -9.5 (-112) is the way to go here, and this is my favorite play.

Over/Under

OVER 58 (-109).

Florida State might have to do much of the heavy lifting to get this game over, but I think it will.

After giving up 31 to Vanderbilt on Saturday, Florida and its mediocre defense will have nothing to control the run game of the Seminoles. While Florida State has a solid defense, Richardson will be able to once again use his arm and legs to get scores in this matchup.

Florida is not likely to make this interesting or close, but they will score enough, even if it is in garbage time, to take this game Over the total of 58 (-109).

That ship sailed this season with 3 straight losses from Oct. 1-15, but the Seminoles have covered 3 in a row, and 7 of the past 9 games overall, and they’ll do it again here.

Over/Under

UNDER 52 (-110) is worth playing lightly here.

The Under has cashed in 5 of the past 7 games overall for Louisiana while going 11-4 in the past 15 games in November dating back to last season. The Under is also 4-1 in the past 5 games against winning teams, too.

FSU has allowed a total of just 6 points in the past 2 games, and it remains to be seen if Louisiana will be able to do much more than Syracuse or Miami. The Under is 10-4 in the past 14 games dating back to last season while hitting in each of the past 7 in November.

Syracuse starting QB Garrett Shrader is listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury. His backup — QB Carlos Del Rio-Wilson — is just 22-of-50 this season. Whoever leads the Orange will be up against a Florida State defense that has tightened up in the red zone of late. Opponents have scored TDs on just 4 of their last 11 drives inside the FSU 20-yard line.
