The Syracuse Orange (3-1, 0-0 ACC) visit the Florida State Seminoles (0-4, 0-2) in a Saturday ACC clash at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. Below, we look at the Syracuse vs. Florida State odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Syracuse heads on the road after three straight home games. The Orange won their last two games – vs. FCS Albany and relatively-new-FBS Liberty – after losing to Rutgers Sept. 11. SU has been very good on the ground and against the run. The Orange’s 261.3 yards per game allowed ranks 10th in the nation.

The Seminoles are 0-4 for the first time since 1974. Three of FSU’s four setbacks have been in one-score games and it has several issues to address. Chief among those issues have likely been hanging onto the football on offense (FSU has 11 giveaways) and being more capable in pass defense (the Seminoles rank 116th in the nation, yielding 282.8 aerial yards per game).

Syracuse is 5-1 ATS in its last six games. Florida State is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games as a favorite.

The ability to run the ball, stop the run and blow up plays at or behind the line of scrimmage and an efficiency in preventing big plays are all advantages for visiting Syracuse.

FSU’s answer to losing to Jacksonville State Sept. 11, has been to score a combined 37 points against two unimpressive defenses (Wake Forest and Louisville).

Peg FSU as winning this game by a score, but the outright win is no slam dunk. The one score may well be a field goal.
