Bears vs. Vikings: Everything we know about Chicago’s Week 6 loss

The Chicago Bears fell 19-13 to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Here’s everything we know about their Week 6 loss.

On Sunday, the Chicago Bears fell 19-13 to the Minnesota Vikings, erasing any good vibes after their first victory of the season. For Chicago, their biggest loss of the game was the injury to their starting quarterback, Justin Fields, who suffered a right wrist/hand injury in the second half. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent took over in his place, nearly leading a comeback before throwing a costly interception.

The Bears are now 1-5, which gives them around a 2% chance of making the playoffs. That isn’t promising for a team that has struggled on both sides of the ball and has yet to win a divisional game under head coach Matt Eberflus.

Here’s everything we know about Chicago’s Week 6 loss.

Bears vs. Bills: Everything we know about Chicago’s 24-21 loss

The Bears dropped their preseason finale to the Buffalo Bills. Here’s everything we know about the loss.

The 2023 preseason is officially in the books for the Chicago Bears following their 24-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Bears were down from the start after the Bills, with quarterback Josh Allen, took their opening possession 72 yards on 12 plays to get a touchdown. Chicago never led in the game, but did cut the deficit a few times.

The Bears got touchdowns from backup quarterbacks Tyson Bagent and P.J. Walker while Cairo Santos converted all three field goal attempts. Bills backup quarterback Kyle Allen, however, kept the Bears at bay as he led three scoring drives of his own. But the Bears wouldn’t go away easy.

Walker’s touchdown to Robert Burns late in the fourth quarter and a two-point conversion got the Bears within three, but it wasn’t enough as the Bills chewed up clock to ice the game. The Bears finished the preseason 1-2, their first losing preseason since 2019.

Bears vs. Colts: Everything we know about Chicago’s preseason loss

The Bears are no longer undefeated in the preseason under Matt Eberflus. Here is everything we know about the loss to the Colts.

Preseason game No. 2 is in the books for the 2023 Chicago Bears as they fell to the Indianapolis Colts 24-17, ending Matt Eberflus’ perfect preseason record. Both teams got off to a rocky start as neither squad had many of their starters out on the field.

Neither team was able to do much offensively through the first quarter. The Colts finally put together a productive drive thanks to quarterback Gardner Minshew, who threw a touchdown pass to Juwan Winfree. The Bears responded with their own touchdown drive, led by undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent to tie things up at halftime.

Things remained tight in the second half but the Colts pulled away in the fourth quarter with two touchdown runs from quarterback Sam Ehlinger. A fumble by Bears fullback Robert Burns ended any comeback bid, which led to a field goal by the Colts to cement the victory.

Here is everything we know following the disappointing loss.

Bears vs. Lions: Everything we know about Chicago’s blowout loss

Here is everything we know following the Bears 41-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Chicago Bears started of 2023 with a dud of a performance. The Bears lost 41-10 to the Detroit Lions, their ninth loss in a row that sets a dubious franchise record. It was a game that saw Justin Fields run for over 100 yards in the first quarter, then proceed to get sacked seven times while the Lions ran all over the Bears defense to get an easy win in their quest to make the postseason.

It was easily the worst game of the 2022-2023 season for the Bears, who seemingly lacked effort and determination on both sides of the ball. With the season lost weeks ago, it was only a matter of time until they laid an egg. The Bears managed just 30 net passing yards, completing seven passes on the day. On defense, they allowed over 500 total yards and couldn’t stop Detroit’s offense.

Here is everything we know following Chicago’s Week 17 divisional loss.

Bears vs. Lions: Everything we know from Chicago’s close loss

For the second week in a row, the Chicago Bears were involved in a shootout in which they fell just short in securing a win.

For the second week in a row, the Chicago Bears were involved in a shootout in which they fell just short in securing a win. The Bears lost 31-30 to the Detroit Lions, dropping their third game in a row despite another strong outing from the offense.

Quarterback Justin Fields once again had a spectacular day, both through the air and on the ground, but couldn’t find the magic late in the fourth quarter to lead the Bears back after they surrendered a 14-point lead in the second half. It’s been a similar story for the Bears the last couple of weeks. The defense struggles to stop the opposing offense, but the offense or special teams commits a fatal flaw to put the game out of reach despite having a strong game. In this case, it was a pick six that Fields threw to former college teammate Jeff Okudah that was the difference.

Points were aplenty when the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins faced off at Soldier Field on Sunday. Unfortunately for the Bears, they were unable to score any more when it truly counted at the end of the game. The Bears fell to the Dolphins 35-32 to fall to 3-6.

The quarterbacks on both teams stole the show, with Justin Fields and Tua Tagovailoa showing out both through the air and on the ground for the Bears and Dolphins, respectively. The Bears unleashed an elite offense for the third week in a row, but the defense gave up too many big plays and a special teams blunder made all of the difference early on.

Here’s everything we know following the close loss.

Bears vs. Browns: Everything we know about the Bears’ preseason finale win

The Bears finish the preseason undefeated, beating the Browns 21-20 on Saturday evening. We break down the game here:

The preseason has come to an end for the Chicago Bears and they leave with an undefeated record. The Bears held on to defeat the Cleveland Browns 21-20 to finish the preseason 3-0. Head coach Matt Eberflus had his starters play for most of the first half and they put on a show.

Quarterback Justin Fields was masterful, throwing three touchdowns to account for all of Chicago’s points. He threw passes to tight ends Ryan Griffin and Cole Kmet, as well as wide receiver Dante Pettis. He missed just two passes on the day and showed out at the place where it all went wrong during his regular season debut last year.

The Browns didn’t give up, however, and hit a pair of field goals to trim the lead to 21-6 at the end of the first half. Then things got dicey beginning in the fourth quarter when reserve quarterbacks Joshua Dobbs and Josh Rosen each scored to bring the Browns within one point. Instead of kicking the extra point on the final score, however, the Browns elected to try and take the lead with a two-point conversion that failed.

The offense looked impressive, the defense was stifling, and most important, there were no major injuries as the Bears get ready for the regular season. Here’s everything we know at the conclusion of the preseason.

Bears vs. Titans preseason game recap: Everything we know

The Bears pulled off an exciting 27-24 victory on the road against the Titans in their final preseason game. Here’s our game recap.

The Chicago Bears pulled off an exciting 27-24 victory on the road against the Tennessee Titans in their final preseason game on Saturday at Nissan Field.

A last-minute go-ahead touchdown from Nick Foles to Jesper Horsted sealed the game for the Bears heading into the regular season.

Bears vs. Vikings game recap: Everything we know

In what was essentially a playoff game, the Bears fought to keep their postseason hopes alive with a 33-27 win over the Vikings.

In what was essentially a playoff game, the Chicago Bears fought to keep their postseason hopes alive with a 33-27 win over the Minnesota Vikings. It certainly felt like a playoff game, especially with the back-and-forth in the second half, Cairo Santos’ clutch field goals and a failed Vikings Hail Mary at the end of the game.

The Bears offense was once again the talk of the game, as they put up 30 points for the third straight game. It was another beautifully-called game by offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, who leaned heavily on running back David Montgomery — who had 146 yards on 32 carries — and continued to utilize quarterback Mitchell Trubisky’s strengths.

While Chicago’s defense struggled containing Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, who had his best outing against the Bears with 132 yards on 24 carries,  they did come up big with the game on the line. Chicago’s defense came up with a big stop on fourth-and-1, which gave the ball back to the Bears offense and led to a field goal that put them up six. The defense also survived a late rally by the Vikings in the final minute, breaking up a Hail Mary attempt.

The Bears advance to 7-7 on the season and keep their slim playoff chances alive. After losing six straight games, Chicago has won their last two and still have something to play for in late December.

Chiefs vs. Raiders game recap: Everything we know

A look at what we know after the Chiefs-Raiders game in Week 11.

Andy Reid has been the most proven commodity in the NFL off a bye week, and this week was no exception to that legacy. His ability to coach the team to victory, down to the very last play, made all the difference with a listless defensive performance keeping the game close. The offense, as usual, was the determining factor for Kansas City. However, their struggles defensively don’t bode well for the playoff run they’re about to embark on.

With the second-best record in the conference, the Chiefs control their own destiny with one of the weakest strengths of schedule through the end of this season. Their stars on that side of the ball didn’t exactly show out tonight, and they won’t be able to let teams hang around when it matters most.
