Every 5-star recruit the Oregon Ducks have offered in the 2024 class

The Ducks signed a pair of 5-star recruits in 2023 and were close to landing several more. They’ve offered 18 5-stars in 2024. How many do they land?

As we continue to march toward the end of the 2023 recruiting cycle, which will come to a hopefully eventful conclusion for the Oregon Ducks on the February 1 signing day, high school prospects remain at the top of our minds.

While many of the current class’s top players are already off the board, we are aware of the remaining guys who could make a huge impact for Oregon, be it 5-star Nyckoles Harbor, 5-star Duce Robinson, or 4-star Rodrick Pleasant. Regardless of whether or not the Ducks are able to land another 5-star to the mix in 2023, it’s been impressive to see what Dan Lanning and his staff did this past year, getting a pair with WR Jurrion Dickey and EDGE Mattayo Uiagalelei.

It’s also clear that the Ducks are not afraid to go after some of the most high-profile players in the market. We learned that much this past year when Lanning initially pulled off the flip of 5-star S Peyton Bowen, was among the finalists to land 5-star DL David Hicks, and had a commitment from 5-star QB Dante Moore until the 11th hour. Of course, none of those three players ended up signing with the Ducks, but Oregon’s willingness to put in the effort and try to recruit the best of the best to Eugene is encouraging for a fanbase that is getting used to seeing some of the top players choose to be Ducks.

So who are the “best of the best” in the 2024 class that Oregon is after, and that Duck fans should start to familiarize themselves with? We made a list of all the 5-star prospects that the Ducks have offered in 2024.

Who Ohio State football offered within the last 24 hours

The Buckeyes have been busy #GoBucks

The Ohio State football recruiting machine has been burning a bit more gas over the last 24 hours. [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] and his staff have been extremely busy, as they have sent out a plethora of offers across the country.

The focus was mainly on the defensive line, but another position was offered as well. It seems like Day has identified a potential future weakness among the “Rushmen” and is looking for more bodies to join that group.

[autotag]Larry Johnson[/autotag], the defensive line position coach, missed out on more than a few of his top choices during the 2023 cycle. It seems like the Buckeyes are casting a much wider net in 2024. Find out who recently got an Ohio State offer below.

2024 5-star EDGE will be in attendance for Las Vegas Bowl

He might be a Florida legacy, but the Gators must work hard to bring 2024 five-star edge rusher Elijah Rushing home to the Swamp.

The Florida Gators are in Las Vegas preparing for its bowl game against Oregon State, but recruiting season never stops in the college football world. Five-star Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Arizona) edge rusher [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag] is expected to be in town to watch the big game, according to 247Sports.

Rushing is the brother of preferred walk on [autotag]Cruz Rushing[/autotag] and the son of former Gators tight end George Rushing. His ties to the university are well-documented, but Rushing is far from a lock on Florida’s 2024 recruiting board. He’s narrowed things down to a top 12, including Arizona, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Washington.

Billy Napier and Co. have prioritized Rushing for most of the year and got him on campus over the weekend of the LSU game (Oct. 15). This weekend will give him a chance to reevaluate Florida after several roster changes cleared up which position groups are in line to see an injection of youth over the next few years. As a top recruit in the class, Rushing is looking for immediate playing time and a path to the NFL.

Rushing is the No. 16 overall on the 247Sports composite and No. 2 among edge rushers in the class of 2024. The site’s individual rankings have him even higher at No. 10 nationally and No. 1 at his position.

Five-star DE Elijah Rushing names top schools

Five-star recruit Elijah Rushing is one of the best pass rushers in the class of 2024.

Five-star class of 2024 defensive end Elijah Rushing is one of the best pass rushers in the junior class. Rushing plays high school football for Salpointe Catholic in Tucson, Arizona.

Rushing is the No. 17 recruit in the class of 2024. The Salpointe Catholic star is the fourth-ranked edge rusher in the country and the second-ranked recruit in Arizona.

Elijah Rushing considers Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington to be his top 12 schools.

The last time Georgia signed a top recruit from Arizona was 2020, when the Bulldogs secured a commitment from five-star defensive back Kelee Ringo.

Ringo, a Saguaro High School star, made the biggest play of the national championship game last season when he returned an interception for a game-clinching touchdown against Alabama.

The Salpointe Catholic standout announced his top schools via Twitter:

The talented pass rusher has visited Oregon, Arizona State and Florida.

Gators crack top 12 for this 2024 five-star EDGE

Florida made the most recent cut for five-star edge rusher Elijah Rushing, but the Gators still have some major competition to beat if they are going to earn a commitment from him.

Five-star edge rusher [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag] narrowed his college options down to 12 programs on Monday and the Florida Gators made the cut.

UF is joined by Arizona, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington in Rushing’s top 12.

He most recently visited the Swamp on Oct. 15 for Florida’s matchup with LSU. That was his second visit after stopping by spring practices in April. A native of Tucson, Arizona (Salpointe Catholic), Rushing has visited Arizona and Oregon three times each. He’s also stopped by Notre Dame twice.

His top 12 should narrow down to a top five by next summer, but plans do change quickly in the college football recruiting world.

“I am just trying to start moving towards a top 5 by the end of the spring,” Rushing said to On3’s Chad Simmons.

The On3 recruiting prediction machine gives Arizona the best odds to land Rushing with a 22.1% shot. Oregon is No. 2 on the list with 19.4% odds, and Rushing is coming off a visit with the Ducks that made him feel like a priority target.

The 247Sports composite ranks Rushing at No. 17 overall and No. 4 among edge rushers in the class. The On3 composite agrees with the assessment, placing him at No. 19 overall and No. 2 among players at his position. However, On3 has him listed as a four-star recruit. That could change once his senior year begins.

5-star edge rusher is planning on visiting Florida for LSU game

Florida is packing the Swamp with five-star recruits on Oct. 15 when LSU comes to town. Elijah Rushing, one of the top edge rushers in the class of 2024, is the latest to confirm his plans.

Florida will host five-star legacy edge rusher [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag] on Oct. 15 for the LSU game, according to a report from 247Sports.

It will be his first trip to the Swamp since April, but the Rushing family has close ties with the Gators. George Rushing, Elijah’s father, played tight end for Florida during the early 90s, and Cruz Rushing is currently a walk-on safety with the team.

“It was surreal,” Rushing said after his visit in April. “Just coming to a place where my dad played and where there is a legacy, it was truly a blessing. To me the offer shows belief in my abilities and it was just a lot of love coming from everyone we met this weekend on campus. Obviously, for me it’s big to be getting attention from schools down south and having these options from the SEC is something I don’t take for granted.”

The On3 consensus has him at No. 22 nationally and No. 2 among players at his position. Florida’s 5.4% odds are good for a six-way tie of fourth place behind Arizona (24.4%), Oregon (21.3%) and Notre Dame (12.3%). Arizona State, Clemson, Georgia and Michigan State are the programs tied with UF, but things are still up in the air.

Giving rushing a taste of what an SEC game day in the Swamp is really like could help improve Florida’s odds, but there’s plenty of time for the high-school junior to weigh his options.

The 247Sports composite ranks Rushing No. 17 overall and No. 3 among edge rushers in the class of 2024. Rushing still ranks high among his peers despite the On3 consensus being more conservative with five-star ratings.

No. 1 EDGE in 2024 class to be on-site for Oregon vs. Arizona matchup

Oregon has made 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing a priority in the 2024 class. He will be at the Ducks’ game vs. Arizona on Saturday.

One of the top targets in the 2024 recruiting class will be on hand for the Oregon Ducks’ road game against the Arizona Wildcats this weekend.

5-star EDGE rusher Elijah Rushing has announced that he will be in attendance for the matchup. Rushing, who is the young brother of Cruz Rushing, a walk-on at Oregon, is the No. 1 ranked EDGE in the 2024 class, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 15 overall player in the nation.

Rushing has been a major priority for the Ducks, and he was on campus for a visit earlier this year, where he told Ducks Wire that he enjoyed his time greatly.

“From what they told me, they seem to have a great vision for the future of Oregon,” Rushing said. “They’re talking about how they want to and were going to build a dynasty at Oregon. It’s great hearing that they have that mentality.”

There is still a long way to go in his recruitment, and Rushing is among the most coveted players in the nation, standing at 6-foot-6, 235 pounds. The Ducks seem to be in a good position in this race early on, though. A big win over Rushing’s home-state team would likely help a lot as well.

Elijah Rushing’s Recruiting Profile

Report: 4-star legacy recruit in class of 2024 set to visit Florida in fall

After a good first meeting with the Gators in April, Florida should get to host one of the top edge rushers in the class of 2024 again in the fall.

One of the many blue-chip recruits that will visit the University of Florida this season is four-star edge rusher [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag], one of the top recruits in the class of 2024.

The Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Arizona) product is also the son of former Florida tight end George Rushing, who played for the Gators in the early 90s. Picking up an offer from the school his father played for meant a lot to him, but it was meeting with [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] that highlighted the trip, according to Gators Online.

“Spending time with coach Napier was great,” Rushing said to GO in April. “He is an honest, straightforward coach that is going to tell you the truth. He was very real. We talked about the opportunities at Florida, the team, and things like that. I liked my time with him.”

The elder Rushing confirmed that he and his son would visit again in the fall for a game, but the specifics haven’t been worked out yet. He also has offers from Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and USC as well, so his schedule should be pretty full as recruiting teams focus more on the class of 2024.

Rushing’s brother, Cruz, joined Florida’s team as a walk-on over the summer, so the family ties run deep here. That should keep the Gators in the race until the end, and this is a high-priority target.

The On3 consensus ranks Rushing as the No. 2 edge defender in the country and the No. 22 player in the class of 2024 overall. The site’s individual rankings are even higher on him, ranking Rushing seventh overall.

Oklahoma Sooners offer top five EDGE prospect in the 2024 cycle Elijah Rushing

After landing his first commit of the 2023 class, Miguel Chavis offers one of the top players in 2024, five-star DE Elijah Rushing

Hot on the heels of landing his first EDGE commitment of the 2023 cycle, defensive ends coach Miguel Chavis is putting in work with the 2024 class as well. Targeting one of the top defensive ends in 2024, Chavis has extended an offer to Tuscon, Arizona’s Elijah Rushing.

Rushing is considered a five-star edge prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and a four-star player with On3, Rivals, and ESPN.

He’s an athletic edge prospect that displays great length. Rushing uses it well to engage and shed blockers to get into the backfield. At 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, Rushing can still add some size and bulk while continuing to build his athletic profile heading into his junior season at Salpointe Catholic.

Rushing is currently a top-five EDGE prospect and ranks as a top 25 prospect overall according to ESPN, 247Sports, and On3.
