Kadyn Proctor ‘hasn’t gotten a dime’ from The Swarm Collective

SWARM CEO Brad Heinrichs reassured Iowa fans, saying with KXnO Kadyn Proctor “hasn’t gotten a dime” from The Swarm Collective.

SWARM CEO Brad Heinrichs joined KXnO’s “The Morning Rush” on Wednesday morning alongside hosts Travis Justice and Ross Peterson to clear the air surrounding Kadyn Proctor’s transfer situation.

The former five-star who signed with Alabama after initially committing to the Hawkeyes in the 2023 class made waves when he transferred to Iowa following his freshman season with the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-7, 360 pound offensive tackle started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide at left tackle as Alabama won the SEC championship over Georgia and advanced to the College Football Playoff.

Given Iowa’s offensive issues over the last several seasons, particularly along its offensive line, Proctor’s arrival created optimism for rapid improvement entering the 2024 college football season. Of course, that optimism evaporated and took an interesting twist when news broke on Tuesday that Proctor was planning on transferring back to Alabama.

Hawkeye fans were concerned that Proctor had absorbed a portion of The Swarm Collective’s NIL funds and then made the dash back to Alabama.

Heinrichs joined KXnO to ease fans’ concerns.

“Hawkeye fans out there that have given to the Swarm should rest easy. Kadyn Proctor hasn’t gotten a dime of their money, so that hopefully will appease people. The money that they’ve given to the Swarm collective, the student-athletes have to actually do work for charity to get that and he hasn’t done any of that yet. So, he has not gotten a single dime from the folks that have donated to the Swarm collective. Hopefully, Hawkeye fans will hear this and breathe a sigh of relief,” Heinrichs said.

Heinrichs made sure that Iowa fans know that there are no signing bonuses with The Swarm Collective.

“No, there’s no signing bonuses. Those are illegal because that becomes more of a what they call pay-to-play. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen guys. I mean, but it doesn’t happen with us. I’ve read the same stuff you’ve read and it may be true, it may not be true. That’s a hard part about this. You don’t know what is really true and what isn’t, but I can tell you there are no signing bonuses with Swarm. Again, Hawkeye fans can rest easy. There’s not been any of that in this case. People that have donated. He hasn’t taken their money and left town and stolen from us if you will. None of that’s happened,” Heinrichs said.

Per Heinrichs, Proctor did get a small sum of money from The Swarm, Inc., but the bulk of the money Proctor could have earned would have been through charity work that he did not do.

“We’re structured a couple of different ways. We have the collective, which the student-athletes have to do work for charity in order to get paid. So, they go and they deliver Meals on Wheels on a Saturday morning for three or four hours, then they’re going to get paid a certain amount for doing that. The other piece of it, and this is where Kadyn has gotten some money, but only probably 15% of the annual amount, is on the Swarm Inc. side where he can do marketing work for businesses. So, corporations. A corporation asks Kadyn Proctor to do a commercial or advertising, social media or otherwise, then he’ll get paid to do that as well. So, that’s the only place where he’s actually gotten some, very little, money for NIL purposes since he’s been at Iowa. It’s not taken anything from the fan base,” Heinrichs said.

In other words, Proctor did get a small sum of money from several of SWARM’s corporate partners.

“That’s correct. So, our corporate partners have asked him to do some things and he’s fulfilled some of those obligations that are outlined in his contract. But, he hasn’t, like I said, he hasn’t gotten very much yet. I’m not the smartest guy in the world as you guys know by talking to me, but I am smart enough to get good legal counsel and, in our contracts, we have stipulated in there, spare you the legalese, but if the guy transfers to Alabama and he’s playing down there, we’re not paying him. The contract’s like completely void out, so there’s not any concern about if he does leave, which apparently that’s what social media is telling us is that he’s leaving if that is in fact the case, then he won’t ever get any money from us,” Heinrichs said.

While it’s a bummer for Iowa football that Proctor isn’t sticking around, Hawkeye fans can take solace in the fact that he didn’t earn from their Swarm donations.

JC Latham comments on Kadyn Proctor’s return to Alabama

JC Latham responds to the Kadyn Proctor saga

Just a couple of months ago Kadyn Proctor was wrapping up his freshman season with Alabama before entering the transfer portal and heading back to his home state and joining the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Proctor’s imminent return to Tuscaloosa to rejoin the Alabama football program has the entire world of college football talking.

On Wednesday, at Alabama’s Pro Day, former Crimson Tide offensive lineman and projected first-round pick in next month’s NFL draft, JC Latham, offered up his thoughts on the saga surrounding Proctor.

“That’s the standard. We’re the standard. The grass isn’t always greener in other places, so when things happen and you think it might be better somewhere else, you get to find out the hard way that it’s not. It’s Alabama for a reason.”

Latham would also emphasize the improvements that Proctor made during his freshman campaign.

“He was a young pup when he first got in, and then just from summer, fall camp and moving forward, just the ability to adjust on the fly and keep things going. You look at the last game compared to the first game, you’ll see improvement right there.”

Proctor’s addition to the offensive line room in 2024 will be a tremendous help to a group that is still searching for its starting tackles.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Kadyn Proctor story and as the events and details are released, we will provide all updates.

Guessing the top 10 highest-rated Iowa Hawkeyes in EA Sports College Football 25

Ahead of the return of EA Sports College Football 25, here is a guess at who may be the top 10 highest-rated Iowa Hawkeyes in the game.

After a decade-long wait, the return of one of the most highly-anticipated video games is finally coming. EA Sports has announced that this summer will be the official return of EA Sports College Football 25.

The game was discontinued after NCAA Football was released in 2013. This pause came amid the strife around paying players for their name, image, and likeness. Obviously, it goes without saying that NIL has taken leaps and bounds to allow players to be correctly compensated.

With the return of the video game, fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes are eager to see their favorite team and its best players as they lead them to glory in dynasty mode. This is every Hawkeyes’ fans chance to light up the scoreboard and put up truly “video game” numbers on offense.

Ahead of the release, here is a guess at who are the top 10 highest-rated Iowa Hawkeyes in EA Sports College Football 25.

Iowa self-reports NCAA violation regarding Kadyn Proctor

The Iowa Hawkeye football program is self reporting a Level III violation.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will be self-reporting a Level III rules violation.

The violation is in regards to a text sent to new Hawkeyes’ offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor during his time this past season with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The potential violation first came to light in an interview with Proctor in which the former five-star recruit referenced a member of the Hawkeyes coaching staff sending him a text of encouragement earlier in the season after some struggles.

According to Iowa athletic director Beth Goetz, the program will be reporting the violation to the NCAA but does not fear any sort of major punishment. Level III violations are considered “Breach of Conduct” and are the lowest of the three different levels of violations.

Proctor entered the transfer portal in mid-January before committing to continue his career with the Iowa Hawkeyes a few days later.

A native of Des Moines, Proctor was a five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle, committing to the Crimson Tide over the Hawkeyes during the early signing period in 2022.

Iowa self-reporting Level III NCAA violation regarding Kadyn Proctor text message contact

Iowa is self-reporting to the NCAA a Level III tampering violation regarding contact with former Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor.

Kadyn Proctor committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes via the transfer portal after leaving the Alabama Crimson Tide made waves across the college football landscape. With such a high-profile move comes a little extra scrutiny on the process.

Part of that process involved a text message sent to Proctor from Iowa’s director of recruiting Tyler Barnes during the 2023 college football season in September. Under NCAA guidelines, this could be tampering and Iowa is self-reporting this violation.

John Steppe of The Gazette reported the news from Beth Goetz, Iowa’s new athletics director.

The expected punishment is a Level III violation, which is the least severe level of NCAA violations.

The text was in support of Proctor when it was sent to him last year. Scott Dochterman of The Athletic reported that the text told Proctor to “hang in there” despite some early freshman struggles in his first collegiate season.

“It’s impermissible because it’s still considered tampering. But there’s nothing untoward in the writing of the text message,” Goetz told The Gazette and The Athletic.

Goetz said Iowa has not formally reported the violation yet as it continues to gather necessary information beforehand. She anticipates that the NCAA enforcement will be along the lines of education and “don’t do it again.”

“It doesn’t lessen the fact that we need to be responsible for what the rules are. Any time we make a mistake, we’re going to hold ourselves accountable and take appropriate actions to ensure we don’t find ourselves back in that same position again,” Goetz said.

After committing to Iowa, Proctor discussed why he chose the Hawkeyes at Iowa men’s basketball’s showdown inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena versus No. 2 Purdue on Jan. 20.

“No bridges were burned,” Proctor said then per Hawk Central. “That’s why it was so easy for me to pick them when I did enter the transfer portal because I had those relationships. Even when I was doing bad in the SEC, they hit me up and said, ‘We’re proud of you.'”

Iowa will await the NCAA fallout after it officially reports the Level III violation.

The 6-foot-7, 360 pound offensive tackle started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide at left tackle as Alabama won the SEC championship over Georgia and advanced to the College Football Playoff.

Per 247Sports, Proctor is a five-star transfer, the nation’s No. 2 transfer and the top offensive tackle. Rivals ranks Proctor as a five-star transfer and as the No. 4 talent in the portal, while On3 rates Proctor as the No. 5 transfer.

CBS highlights Kadyn Proctor as Iowa Hawkeyes’ biggest impact transfer for 2024

After a year away, Kadyn Proctor is coming back home to Iowa. CBS highlights Proctor as the Hawkeyes’ biggest impact transfer.

Sometimes when you only have one option, the choice becomes rather easy.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle and Iowa native Kadyn Proctor is coming home to the Iowa Hawkeyes this year via the transfer portal. It was a bit of a winding road to get to this point, but we have arrived here all the same and Proctor has been met with very open arms.

Proctor’s return to the Hawkeyes comes as their only transfer portal addition so far. That is in part why CBS Sports has named him the biggest impact transfer for the Hawkeyes in 2024. Even if another transfer had joined, Proctor would still be the pick as he is a plug-and-play top-level starter.

Kadyn Proctor, OT, Iowa: This was an easy choice for two reasons. Proctor was one of the highest-rated transfers in the portal, and he’s the only incoming transfer in Iowa’s class. There’s no underselling this one. Proctor started every game at left tackle for Alabama as a true freshman.

Week after week, he went against some of the best pass rushers in the country. While he struggled early and was not perfect, he got better as the season went along and more than held his own. And Iowa gets him at left tackle for at least the next two seasons. Proctor joins an offensive line that returns every starter, so this unit should be much better in 2024. That will go a long way in making the Iowa offense better overall. – Tom Fornelli, CBS Sports.

After starting 14 games for the Crimson Tide last year, Proctor was named an All-SEC Freshman by the coaches in the conference. His presence on the Iowa offensive line moving forward cannot be understated.

Proctor comes to Iowa after initially committing to them out of high school and bolsters an offensive line at arguably the most important position up front. He protects Cade McNamara’s blindside and now gives Iowa a solidified blocker to run behind.

Social media reacts as Kadyn Proctor announces Iowa football as transfer destination

Five-star offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor is coming home! Social media reacted to the big news.

The Iowa Hawkeyes just got massive news out of the transfer portal.

This time, the predictions came true. Five-star offensive lineman and former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is coming home. Originally from Southeast Polk High School outside Des Moines, Proctor had been committed to the Hawkeyes for several months before ultimately flipping his commitment and signing with the Tide in the 2023 class.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett broke the news on X on Saturday that Proctor was transferring to Iowa and Proctor himself quickly confirmed it.

5 transfer.

It’s an enormous addition for the Hawkeyes and one that feels like it could be program-altering up front.

Iowa’s offensive struggles over the past two seasons have been well documented. The Hawkeyes’ offensive line has played its part in those frustrations.

Iowa owned the nation’s 107th-ranked rushing offense and the Hawkeyes ranked 84th nationally in sacks allowed.

Proctor figures to step in at left tackle and immediately help each of those two departments. The Des Moines native played 811 snaps for Alabama during his true freshman season. Per Pro Football Focus, Proctor’s offensive grade was 66.3. He had a run blocking grade of 67.2 and a pass blocking grade of 58.8.

Hawkeye social media was overjoyed with the big news.

Former Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor transferring to Iowa

Former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor announced that he was transferring to Iowa on Saturday afternoon. Proctor spent one season in Tuscaloosa.

After spending one season in Tuscaloosa, Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is transferring to Iowa. The Iowa native was committed to the Hawkeyes before flipping his commitment to Alabama before national signing day.

Proctor was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team following his freshman campaign. He made 14 starts at left tackle this past season. Proctor was in charge of protecting Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe’s blindside.

In 743 snaps at right tackle, Proctor recorded 20 knockdown blocks. At 6-foot-7 and 360 pounds, he was an instrumental run blocker for the Crimson Tide as well.

With Proctor transferring, Alabama will now have to replace one of the premier offensive linemen in the country for the 2024 season.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program and its former players in the NCAA transfer portal.

Former five-star OT Kadyn Proctor announces intentions to enter the transfer portal

Alabama LT Kadyn Proctor entering the transfer portal

The onslaught continues for Alabama football as former five-star offensive tackle [autotag]Kadyn Proctor[/autotag] plans to enter the transfer portal. Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide in 2023 at left tackle, which is really quite impressive. So his departure still stings, despite having some freshman year troubles for the majority of the year. Although, as the year went on he seemed to find his groove and will certainly be playing on Sunday’s down the line.

Sources have indicated that Proctor was considering entering the portal even prior to Saban’s departure, but today he makes his plans official. Proctor was the No. 1 OT in the 2023 recruiting cycle and a the No. 5 player in the entire class. It is likely that Proctor will head back to the Midwest with Iowa and Ohio State shaping up as the front runners. Proctor was an Iowa commit all along before flipping to Alabama on National Signing Day.

With Latham going to the NFL draft and Seth McLaughlin transferring to Ohio State, it will more than likely be an entirely new offensive line in 2024. Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide have a lot of roster rebuilding to do as 25 players are currently in the portal or have left for it. When the spring portal window opens, I expect the Tide to make some moves.

Crystal ball predictions roll in favoring 5-star transfer OT Kadyn Proctor to Iowa Hawkeyes

Is Kadyn Proctor coming home? A number of predictions are in favoring Iowa to land the former five-star and Alabama OT.

Alabama freshman All-American offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is reportedly entering the NCAA transfer portal.

He is the latest potential transfer from Alabama following legendary head coach Nick Saban’s retirement. Including Proctor, eight Tide players have entered the transfer portal per 247Sports since Saban announced his retirement on Jan. 10.

It could be huge news for the Iowa Hawkeyes, too. The former five-star was originally an Iowa commit in the 2023 signing class, but he decommitted from the Hawkeyes just before the early signing period and signed with the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-7, 360 pound offensive tackle is out of Southeast Polk High School in Iowa.

As Proctor readies to enter the transfer portal, four predictions from 247Sports reporters already favor Proctor to transfer to the Hawkeyes.

HawkeyeInsider‘s David Eickholt was the first to submit a 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Proctor to Iowa. Eickholt’s crystal ball prediction was followed by crystal balls from 247Sports national writer Chris Hummer, HawgSports‘ Easton May and 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide at left tackle and was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team.

247Sports ranks Proctor as a five-star transfer, the No. 2 transfer nationally and the No. 1 offensive tackle transfer.

For an Iowa offense that was the butt of jokes nationally and was ranked as the country’s worst total offense this past season, Proctor’s addition would immediately upgrade the Hawkeyes’ offensive line. If he does transfer to Iowa, he figures to instantly improve the Hawkeyes’ offense overall.

Iowa’s rushing offense ranked 107th nationally in 2023, averaging just 115.9 rushing yards per game. Proctor would help the Hawkeyes there overnight.

As the reality sets in that Proctor might be coming home, let’s dive into his recruiting profile.
