Draymond Green praises Darius Bazley during Thunder/Rockets Game 4

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green tweeted that Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Darius Bazley “is going to be nice” during Game 4.

Draymond Green may not be a participant in the playoffs for the first time in his career, but the Golden State Warriors star has continued paying attention to the league inside the NBA bubble.

During Game 4 of the Oklahoma City Thunder series against the Houston Rockets, Green saw something he liked in a young Thunder player.

“Darius Bazley is going to be nice!” Green tweeted.

Bazley is one of the four Thunder players who came in off the bench during the first half of the game. His length and athleticism allows him to guard the wings and centers of the Rockets.

He’s not a center, but has played the 5 — and against Houston, who doesn’t play traditional bigs, he can match up with most players.

Bazley had four points on 2-for-3 shooting in nine minutes in the half.

He may just be 20 years old, but the rookie is already grabbing the attention of an NBA veteran and champion.

Maybe Bazley, who is 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot wingspan, reminds Green a little bit of himself, a 6-foot-6 with a 7-1 wingspan who plays power forward and center.

Green has been vocal about NBA play over the last month, including appearing on NBA on TNT as an analyst and joining Charles Barkley on TNT’s “The Arena.”

Draymond Green reacts to Carmelo Anthony’s performance in Blazers vs. Lakers Game 3

After Carmelo Anthony’s impressive performance in Game 3 of the Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, Draymond Green chimed in on Twitter.

For the first time in his career, Draymond Green will not be suiting up for the NBA Playoffs. Although he’s not inside the Orlando Bubble, the three-time All-Star has been chiming in on the action at Disney World.

Along with sharing his thoughts about the postseason on social media, Green served as an analyst on the NBA on TNT studio show during the seeding round of games.

On Saturday night, Green shared a salute to Portland’s veteran scorer. During game three of the Los Angeles Lakers playoff matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Golden State forward had praise for Carmelo Anthony.

Via @Money23Green on Twitter:

In 42 minutes, Anthony tallied his 2020 playoff scoring high with 20 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. The Syracuse product added six boards and a pair of assists against the Lakers. Anthony also contributed four steals and a block on the defensive end of the floor.

However, Anthony’s solid performance in game three wasn’t enough to slow done Anthony Davis and LeBron James. The Lakers’ duo combined for 67 points, 23 rebounds and 16 assists in their 116-108 victory.

Former Golden State Warrior turned Laker Javale McGee tacked on four points and two boards in 14 minutes against the Blazers.

Down in the series 2-1, Anthony, CJ McCollum and the Bubble’s Most Valuable Player Damian Lillard will lace up against the Lakers for game four on Monday at 6 P.M. PST.

NBA Draft prospect Anthony Edwards: ‘Who wouldn’t love to play with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green?’

Top NBA Draft prospect Anthony Edwards says he would love to play for the Warriors alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

As draft season heats up in the Bay Area, one name is beginning to become familiar for fans of the Golden State Warriors. After an impressive freshman campaign in Athens, Georgia’s Anthony Edwards has been a popular name for the Warriors in mock drafts.

Edwards is widely considered one of the top available prospects in the 2020 NBA Draft class. With a top-five selection on deck in Golden State, there’s a chance Bob Myers and Steve Kerr will have the opportunity to bring in the gifted wing.

On Wednesday, the former McDonalds All-American spoke about playing alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. In an interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Edwards revealed why he would “love” to play in Golden State.

Via Bleacher Report:

Who wouldn’t want to play with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green? It’s would be great — they would make me better at all times. So yeah, I would love to play with them.

Watch Edwards’ full interview with Rooks on Bleacher Report via YouTube:

On his way to winning SEC Freshman of the Year, Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. In 32 games, the 19-year-old shot 40.2% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc.

Edwards is currently listed at the top of the Warriors Wire Draft Big Board.

Edwards’ explosive downhill play would give Kerr a new element in his backcourt behind the Splash Brother duo. However, before it’s time to speculate on his fit in Golden State, the Warriors will have to determine if they’ll be in range to select the Georgia product.

On Thursday, the Warriors will be in action at the NBA Draft Lottery to find out when they’ll be on the clock.

Draymond Green chimes in on Twitter for the Blazers vs. Grizzlies postseason play in-game

Throughout the Trail Blazers matchup with the Grizzlies, Draymond Green was chiming in with some of his thoughts on the postseason play-in game on Twitter.

On Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers tipped off against the Memphis Grizzlies in the crown jewel of the NBA’s seeding round — the postseason play-in game.

If the Blazers won, they would take over the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. Memphis would need to beat Portland twice to punch their postseason ticket.

Throughout the playoff play-in, one member of the Golden State Warriors chimed in with analysis on social media. After serving as a guest analyst on the NBA on TNT last week, Draymond Green brought his takes to Twitter for the play-in game.

Along with shoutouts to CJ McCollum, Gary Trent Jr. and Ja Morant, the former Defensive Player of the Year shared his thoughts on some of the coverages on the defensive side of the floor.

Via @Money23Green on Twitter:

Following timely buckets by McCollum and Carmelo Anthony, the Blazers were able to seal their spot in the postseason with a 126-122 victory against the Grizzlies. McCollum and Damian Lillard led the Blazers in scoring, combining for 60 points.

Behind Portland’s backcourt duo, Jusuf Nurkić tallied a monster double-double on 22 points with 21 rebounds. Anthony was the fourth member of the Blazers to record over 20 points.

Portland will now meet the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

When a player with the basketball resume of Green, it’s a smart move to pay attention when he shares his thoughts on the game. With Golden State out of the postseason picture for the first time since 2012, the Warriors forward will have plenty of time to comment on the Orlando Bubble playoff action.

Draymond Green praises Gary Trent Jr.’s ‘game winning play’ for Trail Blazers vs. Nets

After his late triple gave the Portland Trail Blazers the lead in the fourth quarter, Draymond Green had high praise for Gary Trent Jr.

After dropping 61 and 51 points in back-to-back games, Damian Lillard continued his fierce streak of basketball with a chance at the postseason on the line.

Against the Brooklyn Nets, the Oakland native tallied 42 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field with 12 assists, three boards and two steals. Lillard splashed eight 3-pointers against the Nets with one coming from just inside the halfcourt line.

While Lillard was the centerpiece of Portland’s 134-133 victory against Brooklyn, one Golden State Warrior praised a different member of the Blazers.

After Gary Trent Jr. drilled a 3-pointer to give the Trail Blazers the lead with 2:29 remaining in the fourth quarter, Draymond Green chimed in on Twitter.

Via @Money23Green on Twitter:

Following Trent’s long-distance jumper, the Blazers were able to close out the Nets over the final two minutes of the contest. The Duke product finished the game with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field with four triples in 37 minutes.

Since entering the Orlando Bubble, Trent is averaging 16.9 points on 50.6 shooting from the field. The NBA Sophomore is on fire from beyond the arc, shooting 48.6 from deep.

Lillard, Trent Jr. and the Blazers will be back on the court at Disney World on Saturday for their much-anticipated Western Conference playoff play-in game against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Draymond Green reacts on Twitter to being fined $50,000 for his comments regarding Devin Booker

Draymond Green reacted on Twitter to receiving a $50,000 fine for violating the NBA’s anti-tampering rule for his comments on Devin Booker.

Draymond Green will be walking away from his appearances on NBA on TNT with a fine. On Sunday, the NBA announced the Golden State Warriors forward would be fined $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rule for his comments regarding Devin Booker.

While sitting alongside Charles Barkley, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Ernie Johnson on Friday, Green said the 23-year old All-Star guard needs to “get out” of Phoenix, calling the Suns “bad for his career.”

Via NBA on TNT:

It’s great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well, but get my man out of Phoenix. It’s not good for him, it’s not good for his career. Sorry, Chuck — They got to get Book out of Phoenix. I need my man to go somewhere he can play great basketball all the time and win because he’s that type of player.

When Johnson asked if he was tampering, Green responded with a one-word answer — “maybe.”

[lawrence-related id=30364]

After his fine was announced, Green chimed in on Twitter with a reaction. The former Defensive Player of the Year tweeted five laughing emojis.

Via @Money23Green on Twitter:

Despite his fine, Green provided a bevy of in-depth analysis during his time on the NBA on TNT. The Michigan State product spent time breaking down games in the Orlando Bubble along with discussing topics regarding his former teammate Kevin Durant and the race for the league’s Most Valuable Player.

[lawrence-related id=30390,30385]

While Green’s fine is making headlines, the Phoenix Suns moved their winning streak to five inside the Orlando Bubble with a victory against the Miami Heat. Booker dropped 35 points on 15-of-26 shooting from the field with six assists and three boards in the Sun’s 119-112 win.

Draymond Green given $50,000 tampering fine for Devin Booker comments

Michigan State alumni Draymond Green was assessed a $50,000 fine for comments he made about Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.

[jwplayer FN7IWpf5]

On Friday, we talked about the controversial comments made by Michigan State alumni Draymond Green on NBA on TNT about Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker. Now, the other shoe has dropped in that story and, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Golden State Warriors star will be fined $50,000 for those comments.

For those who missed the original story, Draymond praised Booker on Friday and then said to “…get my man out of Phoenix.” When Ernie Johnson asked Draymond if he was tampering, Draymond simply responded: “Maybe!”

[opinary poll=”do-you-think-draymond-shouldve-been-fine-QwnNor” customer=”collegewires”]

The video quickly went viral which probably prompted the league to react. Personally, I think all these tampering rules are pretty vague and it sucks that Draymond goes on TNT to talk about the game and is fined that much money for simply speaking his mind. I would understand if he said that Booker should specifically leave Phoenix and come join him on the Warriors, but since all he did was say that Booker should leave Phoenix, I disagree with the fine.

You can watch the video of Draymond’s comments below:

Draymond Green laughs off $50k fine for tampering

After saying Devin Booker needs to leave the Suns, Draymond Green was hit with a $50k fine by the NBA.

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green made a very costly guest appearance on TNT’s Inside The NBA on Friday, as the controversial comments Green made about Suns guard Devin Booker have resulted in a $50,000 fine for tampering.

During the broadcast, Green urged Booker to get out of Phoenix for the good of his career. Booker has been stellar inside the bubble and has led Phoenix to a 4-0 record as the Suns try to make an improbable playoff push. According to Green, though, Booker needs to go to an organization where he can “play great basketball all the time and win.”

“It’s great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well, but get my man out of Phoenix. It’s not good for him, it’s not good for his career. Sorry Chuck, but they got to get Book out of Phoenix. I need my man to go somewhere where he can play great basketball all the time and win, because he’s that type of player.”

On Sunday, the NBA announced that Green has been fined $50,000 for his comments. The NBA introduced stricter tampering rules before the start of the 2019-20 season, and commissioner Adam Silver clearly doesn’t want high-profile players urging other stars to leave their organization on national television.

Green didn’t seem too worried about the fine on Twitter after the news broke.

Draymond Green fined $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rules with his comments regarding Devin Booker and the Suns

After calling for Devin Booker to leave the Suns, Draymond Green will be fined $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rules.

With the Golden State Warriors on the outside of the league’s Orlando Bubble, Draymond Green has stepped in as a guest analyst for the NBA on TNT.

When discussing the red-hot Phoenix Suns run at Disney World, Draymond Green made headlines while sitting alongside Charles Barkley, Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Ernie Johnson. The Warriors forward called for Devin Booker to “get out” of Phoenix, stating the organization that drafted him was “bad for his career.”

Via the NBA on TNT:

It’s great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well, but get my man out of Phoenix. It’s not good for him, it’s not good for his career. Sorry, Chuck — They got to get Book out of Phoenix. I need my man to go somewhere he can play great basketball all the time and win because he’s that type of player.

After his comments, Johnson asked if he was tampering, Green responded with “maybe.” Green’s answer followed with a laugh from the rest of the NBA on TNT crew.

[lawrence-related id=30364]

Two days later, Green will be paying for his take regarding the Suns’ All-Star guard. The league announced Green would be fined $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rule.

As announced prior to the start of the 2019-20 season, the NBA has adopted a stricter enforcement approach for conduct relating to tampering, salary cap circumvention, and free agency timing rules, including with respect to the rule prohibiting player-to-player tampering.

Green’s stay with NBA on TNT has been stellar, with the former Defensive Player of the Year breaking down the Orlando Bubble games, along with a wide range of topics that include his former teammate Kevin Durant and the current race for Most Valuable Player. Despite his solid appearance behind the camera, Green will leave NBA on TNT with a $50,000 fine.

Via @samesfandiari on Twitter:

While Green is paying for his comments, Booker and the Suns continue stringing together wins. On Saturday against the Miami Heat, the Kentucky product tallied 35 points with six assists on the way to Phoenix’s fifth straight victory in the Orlando Bubble.

Warriors’ Draymond Green offers ‘cerebral’ analysis of Brad Wanamaker

The Golden State Warriors big man had some heady analysis of the Boston Celtics reserve guard — we’ll show ourselves out.

Golden State Warriors defensive specialist Draymond Green has been keeping busy as a part-time analyst with the crew at TNT in recent days as his Warriors are not among the 22 invited teams in the so-called Disney ‘bubble,’ offering up pearls of wisdom about several teams participating in the Orlando-area restart.

The Golden State big man had some sharp takes on whether Houston Rockets’ star James Harden was taken for granted in the MVP race, as well as where former teammate Kevin Durant ranks among all-time scorers.

But the former Defensive Player of the Year saved his most cerebral take of all for the Boston Celtics.

And when we say cerebral, we mean it — literally.

Sitting in on Friday’s blowout win over the defending champion Toronto Raptors, Green offered the following gem up for our consideration:

“Brad Wanamaker got the biggest head in the NBA by far.”

It’s unclear exactly how the Michigan State product compiled the biometric data necessary to arrive at such a firm hypothesis, but there’s at least one thing we can all agree on even if we have a different theory on who has the biggest cranium in the league —

Wanamaker’s domepiece does not look like a tomato.
