Draymond Green praises Gary Trent Jr.’s ‘game winning play’ for Trail Blazers vs. Nets

After his late triple gave the Portland Trail Blazers the lead in the fourth quarter, Draymond Green had high praise for Gary Trent Jr.

After dropping 61 and 51 points in back-to-back games, Damian Lillard continued his fierce streak of basketball with a chance at the postseason on the line.

Against the Brooklyn Nets, the Oakland native tallied 42 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field with 12 assists, three boards and two steals. Lillard splashed eight 3-pointers against the Nets with one coming from just inside the halfcourt line.

While Lillard was the centerpiece of Portland’s 134-133 victory against Brooklyn, one Golden State Warrior praised a different member of the Blazers.

After Gary Trent Jr. drilled a 3-pointer to give the Trail Blazers the lead with 2:29 remaining in the fourth quarter, Draymond Green chimed in on Twitter.

Following Trent’s long-distance jumper, the Blazers were able to close out the Nets over the final two minutes of the contest. The Duke product finished the game with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field with four triples in 37 minutes.

Since entering the Orlando Bubble, Trent is averaging 16.9 points on 50.6 shooting from the field. The NBA Sophomore is on fire from beyond the arc, shooting 48.6 from deep.

Lillard, Trent Jr. and the Blazers will be back on the court at Disney World on Saturday for their much-anticipated Western Conference playoff play-in game against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.
