10 Michigan State football players Jonathan Smith needs to retain

10 current MSU players Jonathan Smith should heavily focus on retaining:

The first thing on the list for Jonathan Smith upon arriving to East Lansing will be meeting with the current roster, and recruiting the current roster to stick around and not hit the transfer portal.

No one is denying that the Spartans have a plethora of young talent on the roster, with the past two recruiting classes being very good, and it will be imperative that Smith can keep that talent in East Lansing for his staff to develop.

Let’s take a look at ten players Michigan State and Coach Smith need to retain on the roster:

Top three defensive tackles in the Big Ten for 2023

Ohio State football may have the two most talented defensive tackles in the Big Ten #GoBucks #B1G

The Big Ten is incredibly deep at the defensive end position with a few unique pass rushers set to turn the college football world on its head, but the interior is a different story.

It was hard to narrow the defensive end list to three, but for the defensive tackle list, it was hard to find three even worthy of mention. We saw two Ohio State players be ranked in the top two spots at end and it appears that the interior rankings will have the same outlook, but much like at end these rankings are based more on projections than confirmed production.

Tracking every Michigan State Football commit for the 2021 recruiting class

In this post we will track every commitment for the Michigan State Football 2021 recruiting class.

The 2021 recruiting class presents an interesting challenge for Mel Tucker and the Michigan State Football team. Tucker was already behind the eight-ball from day one, taking over for Mark Dantonio and having to build out a staff while other teams were already knee-deep in their recruiting processes. Then, this little thing called the COVID-19 Coronavirus broke out in the United States, putting an end to any opportunities for in-person recruiting. Tucker has still managed to be extremely active on the recruiting front. We will be tracking every new recruit for the 2021 class in this post.

One thing that is very clear about this class is that Mel Tucker is looking for size and athleticism. Ethan Boyd is 6’7″, Tyson Watson is 6’6″, and Harmon and Nealy are both 6’4″. At 6’4″, Nealy will be one of the tallest defensive backs in the country and that length should be very interesting to watch in coverage.
