Former Texas A&M, Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall has committed to Boise State

Former Texas A&M and Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall has committed to Boise State ahead of the 2024 season.

The saga of talented wide receiver Chris Marshall is set to enter a new chapter in his playing career as the former Texas A&M and Ole Miss wide receiver has committed to Boise State after spending last season at Kilgore Junior College, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Spending less than five full months in Oxford after enduring multiple suspensions during his one season at A&M, Marshall was dismissed from the program but still had JUCO options to restore his image, and, like former talented Aggies wide receiver Demond Demas, showed that he can still hack at the next level.

Marshall spent the 2023 season at Kilgore C.C, Marshall had 449 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns through the air in six games, and after Boise State acquired former five-star USC QB Malachi Nelson earlier this month as new Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson has now provided Nelson with plenty of weapons on offense, led by Marshall and returning running back and Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year Ashton Jeanty.

Coming out of the 2022 recruiting class as a five-star prospect and the No. 6-ranked player in the cycle, Marshall joined Texas A&M’s historic 2022 recruiting class with high expectations, and still has the skill set to thrive with the Broncos in 2024.

Former five-star recruit expected to transfer to Boise State

Another former five-star commit could be heading to Boise State.

The Boise State Broncos and new head coach Spencer Danielson could be closing in on another former five-recruit coming to the blue turf. Former Texas A&M Aggies and Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Chris Marshall is expected to commit to the Broncos.

After brief stops in the SEC, Marshall spent the last season with Kilgore Junior College in Marshall’s home state of Texas. He appeared in six games for the Kangaroos with 21 receptions for 449 Yards and five touchdowns. Marshall averaged 21.4 yards per reception.

Danielson is bringing in some serious talent as the Broncos look to make their case for the 12-team playoff in 2024. They will likely have to duke it out with the Tulane Green Wave and UTSA Roadrunners for that spot as the top Group of Five programs this next season.

The Broncos recently added former five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson, who entered the transfer portal after sitting during the 2023 season behind Caleb Williams. Nelson joins a transfer class that includes Vavion Woodard (Ball State), Cam Camper (Indiana), and Jeremiah Earby (California). Marshall would be another addition that is coming over with Power Five experience.

Former Texas A&M, Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall has a new predicted landing spot

Former Texas A&M and Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall is now predicted to land with Boise State in the Mountain West Conference.

The saga of talented wide receiver Chris Marshall is potentially set to enter a new chapter in his playing career as Boise State insider Kevin Hiatt has predicted Marshall will land with the Broncos ahead of the 2024 season after spending last season at Kilgore Junior College.

Coming out of the 2022 recruiting class as a five-star prospect and the No. 6-ranked player in the cycle, Marshall joined Texas A&M’s historic 2022 recruiting class with high expectations but incurred several in-season suspensions before ultimately transferring to Ole Miss the following December.

Spending less than five full months in Oxford, Marshall was dismissed from the program but still had JUCO options to restore his image, and, like former talented Aggies wide receiver Demond Demas, showed that he can still hack at the next level.

Spending the 2023 season at Kilgore C.C, Marshall had 449 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns through the air in six games, and after Boise State acquired former five-star USC QB Malachi Nelson earlier this month as new Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson is looking to provide Nelson with plenty of receiving options.

Former Texas A&M, Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall has found a new home for the 2023 season

It has been reported that former Texas A&M and Ole Miss WR Chris Marshall has enrolled at Kilgore Junior College in East Texas

Former Texas A&M and Ole Miss wide receiver Chris Marshall’s football career looked like it was spiraling into the abyss after enduring multiple suspensions during the Aggies’ dreadful 2022 season, resulting in his transfer to Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels on Christmas Day.

After just four months in Oxford (MS), Coleman’s brief appearance during the Rebels’ Spring Game was the last time he suited up in powder blue, as it was announced that he had reportedly been dismissed from the program according to multiple sources that have confirmed the news on Saturday, May 6.

Well, here’s some good news regarding Chris Marshall’s playing future as Dallas Cowboys Beat Writer Nick Harris took a short break from his daily Cowboys’ reporting to update all of us that Marshall has reportedly enrolled at Kilgore Junior College, located in East Texas for the 2023 season, officially taking the JUCO route to reshape his image, and hopefully gain another shot with an FBS program down the road.

After just one season with the Maroon and White, Marshall appeared in only 3 out of 12 games after a mid-year suspension, recording 11 receptions for 108 yards on the year.

Coming in as the 25th-ranked player in the 2022 recruiting cycle, Marshall’s long, lean athletic build and impressive speed led to many scouts anointing him as a future first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but as we’ve seen time and time again, the transition from high school to college is much more difficult for some.

Good luck with your new opportunity, Chris!

Former Texas A&M WR Chris Marshall has reportedly been dismissed from the Ole Miss football program

It has been reported that former Texas A&M wide receiver and five-star recruit Chris Marshall has been dismissed from the Ole Miss football program

Former Texas A&M wide receiver and five-star recruit Chris Marshall transferred to Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin on Christmas Day of last year, leaving the Aggies after one season due to multiple incidents paired with a lack of playing time.

After only four months with Ole Miss, Marshall has reportedly been dismissed from the program according to multiple sources that have confirmed the news.

During the hectic 2022 season, Marshall appeared in only 3 out of 12 games after a mid-year suspension, recording 11 receptions for 108 yards on the year.

After the news dropped, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin released a brief statement regarding Marshall’s dismissal.

“Chris Marshall has been dismissed from the Ole Miss football program for violation of team rules. We wish him good luck in his future plans.”

Clearly a sad development, we wish nothing but the best for Chris Marshall as he finds his way back to the field, and hopefully learns from these past indiscretions.

Jimbo Fisher clears the air during weekly SEC Coaches Teleconference

Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher clears up some lingering rumors regarding the program during Tuesday’s weekly SEC Coaches Teleconference

The Aggies have dealt with more adversity within their program than any FBS team during the 2022 college football season, and no, I’m not overexaggerating.

Just as a healthy reminder, news broke on Monday night from TexAgs owner Billy Liucci that three freshman members of the roster including wide receiver Chris Marshall, cornerback Denver Harris, and offensive lineman PJ Williams were suspended indefinitely after an incident in the locker room after the team’s Week 8 road loss to South Carolina combined with redshirt freshman running back LJ Johnson’s surprising no show during Monday’s practice.

Let me remind you that these are 18 to 19-year-old young men that made a minor mistake, while Fisher just wants the best for their futures. Rule of thumb, it’s safe to say that when Liucci confirms internal issues concerning Texas A&M, we’re all ears.

On Tuesday during the weekly SEC Coaches Teleconference, head coach Jimbo Fisher quickly cleared a couple of things up as soon as he had the chance, first stating that LJ Johnson is in fact still with the team despite the unfounded rumors making their way through social media, but declined to comment when asked about the three player suspensions, coming as no surprise due to the internal nature of the situation.

Lastly, when asked about quarterback Haynes King’s status going into the Aggie’s Week 9 home matchup with Ole Miss, Fisher states that “he’s doing very well”, and will be available against the Rebels this Saturday night.

Report: Multiple Aggie football players suspended indefinitely

Three players and a possible fourth have been suspended according to recent reports that surfaced on Monday night

On Monday night, news broke that three Texas A&M players have been suspended by head coach Jimbo Fisher for reasons unknown as of now, as TexAgs owner Billy Liucci shared the news via Twitter after breaking the news through the TexAgs message boards.

As of right now, the suspended players are listed as freshman offensive tackle PJ Williams, freshman cornerback Denver Harris, and freshman wide receiver Chris Marshall, as the latter players listed have either started or contributed at a high level for the team in almost every game this season. a fourth player, redshirt freshman running back LJ Johnson did not show up to practice on Monday afternoon, yet his possible suspension is simply based on speculation.

This will be the second suspension for Chris Marshall and Denver Harris this season, as both sat out of the Miami game in Week 3 due to a “violation of team rules”, on the night before the game. Heading into Texas A&M’s Week 9 home matchup against 15th-ranked Ole Miss, the struggling Aggies will yet again be shorted-handed on both sides of the ball.

Mid-season virtual report card: Texas A&M Aggies offense

How would you grade the Aggies offense through the first half of the season?

Texas A&M is in the midst of a much-needed break as the team has played six games so far this season, sitting at a disappointing 3-3 with another six games left to show that the program is indeed progressing, just at a gradual speed.

So, as we are officially at the mid-point of the 2022 season for the maroon and white, Aggies Wire is here to hand out a couple of mid-season grades, focusing on the offense and defense so far as the team will prepare to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Oct. 22nd next weekend.

Offense: D+

Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

To know one’s surprise, the grade fits the performance, and after six games played, the Aggie offense has been statistically one of the worst in the country, ranked 110th nationally, and in the bottom half of most individual offensive statistics as well. The blame game has been pervasive to say the least, whether head coach Jimbo Fisher’s play calling, issues at quarterback, or the poor play of the offensive line is the primary blame for their lack of consistency, and especially ball control, a metric that Fisher prides himself, ranking 109th at 27 minutes per contest.

What has kept this group from receiving an F grade? Running back Devon Achane, and the recent emergence of freshman pass catchers Evan Stewart, Chris Marshall, and tight end Donovan Green. Achane is well known as one of the fastest and most versatile backs in the country and currently ranks 4th in the nation in all-purpose yards with 912 on the year. Stewart finally broke on the scene in Texas A&M’s recent loss to Alabama, recording 8 receptions for 106 yards, while Marshall and Green also made their presence felt against the Crimson Tide.

Lastly, the quarterback situation and the offensive line issues can be summarized in a similar fashion, as both have been marred by inconsistency, especially in critical moments in nearly every game this season. Going from Haynes King to Max Johnson and then Haynes King again due to Johnson’s recent hand injury is obviously not a recipe for success, but even King’s statistically impressive performance against Alabama (253 passing, 2 touchdowns) does not inspire confidence due to his mechanical issues still being a constant issue. We will finally learn if the reports surrounding King’s rumored injury have any merit early next week.

The Aggies O-line has honestly been average at best since their elite performance in the 2020 season while failing to live up to preseason expectations based on three returning starters on the right side in sophomores Bryce Foster and Reuben Fatheree, and junior Layden Robinson becoming stable forces.

Injuries have plagued the group throughout the year, yes communication issues against elite SEC defenses (and even Appalacian State) have virtually killed multiple offensive drives no matter who the quarterback has been. The expectation is that the longer the established starting group plays together, they should be able to iron out their fixable issues through the next six games.

Here’s to hoping that smoother roads are ahead for the Aggies offense for the next six weeks.
