Four-star Chase Bisontis has his top five with three SEC programs, two Big Ten programs making the cut

Five programs make the cut for four-star offensive lineman Chase Bisontis, including Rutgers football. Ohio State, shockingly, didn’t make the cut.

Coveted offensive lineman Chase Bisontis unveiled his top five programs on Saturday evening, the four-star offensive lineman making several surprising cuts to his final list.

And it wasn’t so much the five programs that made the cut that is the storyline, it is the fact that Ohio State, Texas and Miami didn’t crack the top five for one of the best offensive tackles in the nation. The Buckeyes, in particular, seemed like a program that was solidly set to make the top five.

A four-star offensive lineman from Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Bisontis announced a top five that includes Texas A&M, Rutgers, Georgia, LSU and Michigan State. All five programs will reportedly receive an official visit.

That Bisontis didn’t include Ohio State, especially after sounding positive about the Buckeyes over the past year, is a big surprise. The Buckeyes have the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports.

Bisontis is the consensus top-player in New Jersey this year. In the 247Sports Composite, he is the No. 58 recruit in the nation and the fifth-best offensive tackle.

He is a massively powerful offensive tackle who moves well and is savvy in his technique.

ESPN ranks him as the No. 52 player in the nation. He is committed to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.

In their last update, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine had Rutgers at 28.2 percent to keep the recruit in-state.

MSU football listed in top 5 for 2023 4-star OT Chase Bisontis

Michigan State football is one of five schools still left standing for one of the top tackle prospects in the 2023 class

Michigan State football is one of five schools still left standing for one of the top tackle prospects in the 2023 class.

Four-star offensive tackle Chase Bisontis released his top five schools list on Saturday, which included Michigan State. The Spartans were joined by Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU and Rutgers on Bisontis’ top five list.

Bisontis is ranked as the No. 5 offensive tackle and No. 58 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class. He’s also ranked as the top player in New Jersey.

Bisontis holds offers from nearly 40 programs so it’s big for Michigan State to be one of five schools still alive for his talents. We will know soon enough if the Spartans can land this elite prospect, but for now this is great to see for Michigan State.

Rutgers football commit Timmy Hinspeter of Don Bosco Prep on his commitment

Rutgers football commit Timmy Hinspeter talks about his preferred walk-on decision to join Rutgers football.

Earlier this year, Rutgers football landed a commitment from Timmy Hinspeter, a class of 2022 defensive back who has a lot to prove.

Hinspeter committed to Rutgers in February as a preferred walk-on.

A 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker, Lascari could play as a safety or as a linebacker at the next level or potentially a hybrid role. He had offers from Navy, Army and Fordham.

Rivals ranked him as a two-star.

As a senior at Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Hinspeter put up some big numbers for one of the top programs in the country. He had 131 total tackles and seven sacks. The Ironmen finished the season ranked second in the state.

[lawrence-related id=16105]

He spoke with RutgersWire about his commitment to Rutgers. He originally was committed to the Naval Academy but after finding out that he didn’t qualify due to his SAT scores, Hinspeter “decided to bet on myself.”

“Well the conference I play in is very known and obviously Rutgers is in the same state as Bosco so they come to a lot of our games to see us play,” Hinspeter told RutgersWire.

“And I started having a great relationship with coach Drew Lascri, the new safeties coach. He was a coach at Bosco for a while a few years ago. I love him and he called and asked if I wanted to take an official visit.”

That official visit in January set in motion his commitment shortly thereafter.

Don Bosco has a very strong team, with Rutgers targeting several of their big time contributors this recruiting cycle. Hinspeter has been getting to work to try and get a few of his teammates from high school to join him at SHI Stadium.

[lawrence-related id=16096]

Included in that list is four-star Chase Bisontis, the top player in New Jersey in the class of 2023.

“I’d love to get a few of my close friends [autotag]Chase Bisontis[/autotag], [autotag]Jordan Thomas[/autotag], and a kid a played linebacker with who will most likely get a Rutgers offer soon – Jayden Brown,” Hinspeter said.

The down-to-earth Hinspeter never put news of his commitment to Rutgers on social media.

On3 prediction machine has Rutgers football as the favorite for Chase Bisontis

Rutgers football is the favorite to land four-star Chase Bisontis according to On3 Sports.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance…and for Rutgers football, it is better than a chance as it comes to Chase Bisontis.

The top player in New Jersey, the four-star Bisontis has a number of top offers from Power Five programs. He has a top eight that includes in-state Rutgers along with Ohio State, Texas A&M, Miami, Georgia, Texas, LSU and Michigan State.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Rutgers at 28.2 percent to land Bisontis, the highest percentage of any program. LSU checks in at second with 24.7 percent; Texas A&M at 19.7 percent is in third. Ohio State is at 9.7 percent and in fourth place.

A variety of factors go into the prediction machine including the thoughts of On3’s recruiting insiders, historical trends and data and media sentiments. This is not to be confused with any predictions, crystal balls or the like.

[lawrence-related id=15963]

This is purely a prediction machine created by On3.

As for On3, they have Bisontis as the fifth-best offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 51 recruit overall. The class of 2023 offensive lineman is heading into his senior season at Don Bosco Prep.

If the prediction holds up – and it is still certainly early in the process – it would be a second straight season where Rutgers landed not just the top offensive lineman in New Jersey but also the state’s top recruit. All-American offensive tackle [autotag]Jacob Allen[/autotag], a consensus four-star recruit, committed to Rutgers football last April.

Allen has a very strong chance to come in and contribute for Rutgers this fall.

Top 10 uncommitted Offensive Linemen in the 2023 recruiting class per 247Sports

A look at the top 10 uncommitted offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting class per 247Sports.

The Oklahoma Sooners have had some of the best offensive lines in the country over the last decade. Some of that is due to the talent they’ve pulled in, but the Oklahoma Sooners have also had some of the best coaching in the country during that time.

Brent Venables’ decision to retain Bill Bedenbaugh was huge for the Sooners. It helped maintain continuity on the recruiting trail and in the offensive line room. This year as the Sooners look to replace Marquis Hayes and Tyrese Robinson, two of their more seasoned players over the last couple of years, having a steady and proven voice coaching the offensive line will help with the turnover.

Looking ahead to the future, the Oklahoma Sooners brought in two four-star offensive linemen, Jake Taylor and Jacob Sexton, as part of their 2022 recruiting class. So far in 2023, they’ve got interior offensive lineman Joshua Bates committed and will likely land the commitment from the No. 8 offensive lineman in the country, Cayden Green.

With just four commitments in the 2023 class at this time, the Oklahoma Sooners are still putting together their recruiting class for the next signing day cycle.

As the Sooners continue to build their 2023 recruiting class, let’s look at the country’s top 10 remaining uncommitted offensive linemen, according to 247Sports.
