Ohio State football offers 2026 athlete

Another offer dished out. #GoBucks

Ohio State football has had a lot of success on the recruiting trail in the offseason as the Buckeyes currently have the top ranked class in 2025 according to On3 Industry rankings.

For the 2026 class, the Buckeyes are off to a good start as they received an early commitment from five star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. last July.

Since the 2023 season ended Ohio State has been busy putting up offers for 2026 recruits, including Jordan Thomas who received an offer from the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

Thomas who is listed at 6-foot, 175 pounds, plays defensive back and wide receiver for Bergen Catholic high school in New Jersey.  He is rated as a four-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals and ranked a top three player in New Jersey on both resources.

Thomas now holds 24 offers as the Buckeyes join Penn State, Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, and Florida amongst others as teams to offer him.

Badgers offer four-star athlete from New Jersey

Wisconsin offers another NJ athlete

Wisconsin offered Jordan Thomas, a four-star athlete from Oradell, New Jersey, on Thursday. The 6-foot, 175-pound player still has two more years of high school football at Bergen Catholic before he’d look to take the leap to the collegiate level as a member of the class of 2026.

Thomas has now received 14 Division 1 offers, including Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State along with the Badgers in the Big Ten. He has experience playing both wide receiver and cornerback, so he’ll likely reel in plenty of more offers down the line.

Along with Thomas, Wisconsin has also offered his Bergen Catholic class of 2026 teammate defensive lineman Jermaine Kinsler.

Georgia signs 4-star DL Jordan Thomas

Georgia signs 4-star DL Jordan Thomas

The Georgia Bulldogs have signed powerful defensive lineman Jordan Thomas in the 2024 class. The four-star interior defensive lineman is from Hackensack, N.J., and will head down south to start his college career.

He’s the top ranked player in the state of New Jersey and he’s the 117th-best player in the nation. He adds size on the defense to this 2024 recruiting class for Georgia. Thomas committed to the Bulldogs in June.

He’s a 6-foot-5, 296-pound monster in the middle and can find his way on the field early with his measurements and athleticisms. Thomas has a quick twitch athleticism for his size and can make an impact with his 80-inch wing span.

The Don Bosco Prep product comes to Georgia in a time of need with several players departing for the NFL. The Bulldogs have done a strong job developing defensive line talent as many players have been drafted at the next level and Thomas can be apart of that list of players if he develops more technique.

Thomas is apart of a recruiting class that also includes other defensive linemen like Joseph Jonah-Ajonye and Nasir Johnson.

Panthers’ updated practice squad after addition of Jake Luton

QB Jake Luton returned to the Panthers’ practice squad on Tuesday.

Jake Luton is back . . . again.

On Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers signed Luton to their practice squad. This will now be the 27-year-old quarterback’s third stint with the group this season.

The team also released wide receiver Matt Landers and outside linebacker Jordan Thomas.

Let’s take an updated look at the practice squad heading into Wednesday.

Panthers sign QB Jake Luton, release 2 players from practice squad

The Panthers brought back QB Jake Luton to their practice squad on Tuesday.

The Carolina Panthers made a few moves to their practice squad on Tuesday.

Coming in, or coming back in, is quarterback Jake Luton. The 27-year-old passer was released from the group this past Thursday, when the team had to make room for guard Deonte Brown.

Luckily for Luton, there’s now room for him and his third stint on Carolina’s practice squad this season. His first run ended back on Sept. 26—when the division rival New Orleans Saints, this weekend’s opponents, poached him to their active roster.

Luton, a 2020 sixth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has played three regular-season games in his NFL career—all of which came during his rookie season. He appeared in two of the Panthers’ preseason contests this past summer, where he completed eight of his 19 passing attempts for 119 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

The Panthers, additionally, cleared a bit more space on the practice squad—releasing wide receiver Matt Landers and outside linebacker Jordan Thomas.

Panthers’ initial 2023 practice squad

Here is the Carolina Panthers’ initial 16-man practice squad for the 2023 season:

The Carolina Panthers have officially rounded out their initial practice squad for the 2023 season—adding former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver and Frank Reich draft pick Dezmon Patmon on Tuesday.

So, let’s take a look at the entire (and complete) 16-man group:

Panthers announce 11 signings to initial 2023 practice squad

The Panthers signed the first 11 players to their initial 2023 practice squad.

The Carolina Panthers did plenty of work on Tuesday, making over 20 moves to get their once 90-man roster down to just 53. But, as always, their work was never done.

Next, on Wednesday, came the construction of the team’s initial practice squad. Here, as announced this afternoon, are the first 11 members of the group:

  • RB Spencer Brown
  • G Deonte Brown
  • G J.D. DiRenzo
  • G Justin McCray
  • DL Raequan Williams
  • DL Taylor Stallworth
  • OLB Eku Leota
  • OLB Jordan Thomas
  • CB Mark Milton
  • CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver III
  • S Eric Rowe

With NFL teams allowed to carry 16 players per practice squad, the Panthers will have five more spots to fill in the upcoming days. So expect, especially after the extra cuts and maneuvering throughout the league on Wednesday, some more additions soon.

As for who those additions may be, Carolina could look to bring back the trio of players they just waived in quarterback Matt Corral, wide receiver Derek Wright and linebacker Chandler Wooten.

WATCH: Video of Saturday’s fight at Panthers training camp

Here’s a clip of Saturday’s little dust-up between the Panthers offensive linemen and linebackers:

A few Carolina Panthers did more than just get “back together” on Saturday.

In a minor hiccup during an otherwise fun afternoon, the team had themselves some tag team action. Following a takedown of wideout C.J. Saunders in team drills, offensive linemen Larnel Coleman and J.D. DiRenzo got into a shoving match with linebackers Jordan Thomas and Brandon Smith.

Here, courtesy of FOX Charlotte’s Will Kunkel, is a clip of the small scuffle:

Head coach Frank Reich commented on his team’s first dustup of the summer following practice.

“I’m not really lookin’ for any of that,” he said. “I’m not tryin’ to manufacture the emotion. It happens sometimes. And for us out there, right, it’s like, ‘ho-hum.’ It’s gonna happen at some point. But really, the energy and enthusiasm and the grit and the fight really has to come within.

“So, I think our guys have been doing that. When you have those moments there, you just move on and you stay focused.”

Luckily, cooler heads prevailed. Veteran backer Shaq Thompson would later play peacemaker between the offense and defense, something Reich seemed glad to see.

“These guys—they know what time it is,” Reich added. “They know how to take care of themselves. And everybody knows, we’re tryin’ to accomplish something special, and we wanna do something special. We can’t one of our guys gettin’ hurt fightin’ each other. Not much made of it. They guys know it, know how to handle it and did a good job.”

In a totally unrelated note, the pads go on starting Monday!
