Five-star 2025 Michigan quarterback visited Ohio State on Sunday

The Buckeyes hosted a big time quarterback on Sunday #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] football recruiting has a national reach, but sometimes it doesn’t need to go far to recruit a prospect.

Michigan 2025 quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] was close to the Buckeye campus this Sunday when he was participating in the Under Armour All-American Camp Series event in Columbus.

Not only did the event feature Underwood, but also head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag]’s son and running back coach [autotag]Tony Alford[/autotag]’s son. Both Ohio State coaches stayed after their sons’ portions were over to watch the rest of the camp.

After the event, Underwood returned to the Ohio State campus; he continues to make visits this spring. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 200-pound signal-caller is the best quarterback in the country and third overall player on the 247Sports composite.

If you do some Twitter reading into what Underwood has shared, his recruitment is shaping up to be a battle between the Buckeyes and their rivals, Michigan. Both would love to sign Underwood and most likely will battle each other off the field for this win.

Update: Underwood looked like he had a very good time in Columbus as he posted this picture on Monday morning.

Nation’s top-rated player, 2025 five-star QB visiting Michigan football, again

👀 #GoBlue

He just can’t get enough.

With Jadyn Davis in the fold for 2024, Michigan football is working diligently to get its next five-star passer into the 2025 class. Well, there just so happens to be one right down the street at Belleville. He’s frequently on campus, and he’s back yet again.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday and visiting with some teammates, Belleville five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the top QB in the country and the No. 1 player overall in the class of 2025, according to On3’s proprietary rankings, is back seeing what the Wolverines have to offer. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has made his way to Schembechler Hall multiple times this offseason, more than to any other program.

Whether Underwood pulls the trigger at any point, we have no answers. But it can’t be a bad thing.

The Wolverines have long sought after Underwood’s services, but are hedging their bets in 2025, also working at Findlay (Ohio) four-star Ryan Montgomery and Brentwood (Tennessee) Academy five-star George McIntyre.

Here’s Allen Trieu of 247Sports’ evaluation:

Ahead of his years physically and looks like he could be a senior or college player already. Has a strong arm with the ability to make throws to any part of the field. Throws a good deep ball and can use touch to give his receivers a chance to go make plays on the ball. Did an exceptional job of taking care of the ball as a freshman with 39 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Got rid of the ball quickly and was decisive with the ball for the most part. Very good athlete who honestly could be a high-level recruit on defense if he was not such a great quarterback. Uses those legs to escape the rush and extend plays. He looks to throw after escaping but can also take off and be dangerous as a runner. Won a state title as a freshman and had to come up with some clutch throws through the season and playoff run, showing he could come through in clutch situations. Currently shows no glaring weaknesses, just needs to continue to progress in terms of learning defenses and going through progressions, but shows high-end physical tools as well as intangibles. Is a high Power Five prospect who will be recruited very heavily at a national level.

Michigan has had mixed success recruiting Belleville, but that was under former head coach Jermain Crowell. Now the Tigers have a new coach after Crowell and his eventual replacement departed the program.

Iowa Hawkeyes offer nation’s top QB in 2025 class

The Iowa Hawkeyes extended an offer to the nation’s top quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class, Belleville High School’s Bryce Underwood.

Why not, right? For a moment, allow yourself to dream. The nation’s best quarterback in that beautiful black and gold.

The Iowa Hawkeyes tossed their name into the hat for the top quarterback in the class of 2025, offering Belleville High School’s Bryce Underwood on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 205 pound signal-caller is regarded as the nation’s consensus top quarterback in the 2025 class by 247Sports, Rivals and On3.

On3 actually rates Underwood as the country’s No. 1 overall player, while Rivals and 247Sports rank Underwood as the nation’s No. 3 and No. 6 player overall, respectively. Each recruiting service ranks Underwood as the top player in the 2025 class from the state of Michigan.

It would probably be quicker to list which Power Five schools haven’t yet offered Underwood. Iowa joins an offers list that includes college football powers Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.

As you’d expect, in-state programs Michigan and Michigan State have offered as well.

It’s easy to see what evaluators love about Underwood. A quick glance at the tape shows he can make every throw, is accurate on the move and is a true dual-threat quarterback with his feet. His game looks next-level ready right now after a pair of seasons in high school.

This is the type of quarterback that could take Iowa to the next level. Paired with the Hawkeyes’ defense, now you’re talking about the makings of a national championship contender.

Here’s a look at Underwood’s sophomore season Hudl highlights at Belleville. Plus, his full recruiting profile and offers sheet.

Michigan football gets late visit announcement from elite player

Gotta make a move on him NOW! #GoBlue

Michigan football is hoping to finally build off of its two-season on-field momentum, and is working on a big recruiting weekend with 40-some visitors. That group got significantly bolstered with the announcement that an elite, five-star quarterback is making his way to campus.

The Wolverines have been solid when it’s come to recruiting in-state throughout most of the Jim Harbaugh era, but they’ve certainly had some misses. Most recently, five-star QB Dante Moore, who received a Michigan offer as an eighth grader, spurned the maize and blue first for Oregon before flipping to UCLA. Michigan is hoping the past doesn’t repeat with Belleville signal caller Bryce Underwood.

If there’s any good news regarding Underwood, it came late Friday night, when he announced he’s making his way to Ann Arbor to join the big group of visitors taking in the festivities.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the 2025 quarterback is rated the No. 3 player in the country, regardless of position. He has 34 reported offers, including from Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas.

The scouting report via 247Sports’ Allen Trieu:

There are currently no predictions indicating Underwood’s school of choice.

LSU hosted top 2025 quarterback for a visit this past weekend

LSU seems to be off to a good start with the top signal-caller in next year’s cycle.

LSU had a jam-packed weekend of recruiting visitors for junior day.

Most of the recruits were members of the 2024 class, but a big 2025 name was there, too: [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], the top QB in the class.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller traveled from Michigan. The visit went well, and the Underwood family told 247Sports that it felt like a second home. Underwood’s father told On3 he was impressed with LSU, saying the staff had a plan, something he hadn’t seen from other schools yet.

It’s still early and LSU’s just getting started with its 2024 class, but Underwood is as big-time as big-time gets.

Landing an elite QB is essential to competing for championships in this day and age, and you have to recruit them early. LSU already has [autotag]Colin Hurley[/autotag] in the 2024 class. Following Hurley up with Underwood gives LSU a great shot at remaining in the national title discussion.

Report: Another top quarterback will visit Ohio State during the spring

No surprise to see another top quarterback considering the Buckeyes #GoBucks

If there is one thing the current [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] football team can bank on right now, it’s high-level quarterback play. Head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] is well on his way to earning a quarterback whisperer moniker.

Under his tutelage, [autotag]Dwayne Haskins[/autotag], [autotag]Justin Fields[/autotag], and soon-to-be [autotag]C.J. Stroud,[/autotag] will all have been selected as first-round picks in the [autotag]NFL Draft[/autotag]. Although there is a question mark about this year’s signal caller, the future of the position is still bright.

It all comes back to recruiting and according to a report from 247Sports Bill Kurelic, Michigan 2025 quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] will be returning to Columbus on March 25th (subscription required).

What’s amazing about Underwood is that he has played two years of high school football and has two state titles under his belt.

Currently the number one rated quarterback in his class and 3rd overall according to the 247Sports composite, there is a lot of competition for his signature. Underwood has offers from almost every major school in the country.

Ohio State offers 5-star 2025 Michigan quarterback

More QB news? It never ends #GoBucks

The drama for [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] quarterback recruiting seems like it is on full tilt the last few days. Let’s quickly recap what has happened.

On Dec. 14, 2023 South Dakota signal-caller [autotag]Lincoln Kienholz [/autotag] flipped his pledge from [autotag]Washington[/autotag] to the Buckeyes. On Dec. 17, an Arizona five-star and the top overall prospect in the 2024 class, [autotag]Dylan Raiola[/autotag], decommitted from the program.

With so much focus on Raiola’s decision to move on from Ohio State, the news of 2025 Michigan quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] getting an offer went under the radar. Well, the five-star from up north should be getting our attention.

The Buckeyes join [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag],[autotag]Michigan[/autotag], [autotag]Tennessee[/autotag] and others vying to gain early interest from the 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pound rising junior. He is the top quarterback in the class, and [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] would love to steal him away from TTUN’s territory.

If you want to land some of the top quarterback prospects, it never hurts to get a head start, and that’s what Mel Tucker and Michigan State Football are doing with 2025 QB Bryce Underwood. The Spartans offered Underwood a scholarship on Tuesday.

Bryce Underwood is a pro-style quarterback out of Belleville, Michigan, a hot bed for college football talent. He’s already 6’1″, 185-pounds and looks like he’ll end up being one of the top players in the state by the time he is finally ranked by the recruiting services.

[vertical-gallery id=34337]

Underwood currently has offers from Kentucky and Marshall so MSU isn’t the only school taking an early interest in the young QB.
