Arkansas transfer safety Jalen Catalon to visit Texas

Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon is set to visit the Forty Acres.

A former Texas target is considering joining the Longhorns. Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon is set to visit the Forty Acres soon.

Catalon took to social media during dead period to let his followers know he was in Austin. It wasn’t indicative of any campus visit, but at least showed that he enjoyed being in the area.

He was a four-star recruit and standout player at Mansfield Legacy before going to Arkansas. While in Fayetteville, the elite safety earned First Team All-SEC honors to help resurrect a struggling Arkansas program.

The proven player has had issues staying healthy, and his health is worth monitoring moving forward. Nevertheless, Texas is right to kick the tires on the possibility of adding the potential NFL prospect.

The Longhorns are set to lose two starters in the secondary in cornerback D’Shawn Jamison and safety Anthony Cook. Having added Gavin Holmes, Catalon could help raise the group’s ceiling and floor.

Georgia football offers 3-star DL TJ Lindsey

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended a scholarship to one of the top class of 2024 recruits in Arkansas in TJ Lindsey.

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended a scholarship to one of the top class of 2024 recruits in Arkansas. TJ Lindsey is ranked as a three-star edge rusher. Lindsey has now received a scholarship offer from the University of Georgia.

Lindsey plays high school football and basketball for Bryant High School in Bryant, Arkansas. He’s the third-best recruit in Arkansas that is a member of the rising junior class.  Lindsey is ranked as the No. 23 edge in the class of 2024.

The three-star pass rusher has received six scholarship offers thus far. Lindsey’s top offers include Georgia, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Houston, and more.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end also plays tight end. He has great size for both positions. The three-star’s sophomore tape is pretty impressive.

TJ Lindsey does a good job of tracking down opposing quarterbacks in the backfield and shows relentless pursuit on film. Lindsey is a good tackler in the open field.

The Bryant edge rusher is fairly stout against the run. Perhaps the most impressive moment of his sophomore tape came when he had a dominant block on a punt return. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and his staff love players that get after it on special teams.

The rising junior announced his scholarship offer from the University of Georgia via Twitter:

UGA football target 4-star WR Jayden Thomas sets commitment date

The Georgia Bulldogs made the top five schools for Pace Academy WR Jayden Thomas

The Georgia Bulldogs made the top five schools for Jayden Thomas. Thomas is a four-star receiver who plays high school football at Pace Academy. He’s from Atlanta, Georgia, and is a member of the class of 2021. Now, Thomas is ready to make his commitment.

Pace Academy is a bit of a University of Georgia pipeline high school. Georgia has recruited talented players Andrew Thomas and Jamaree Salyer from Pace Academy.

Jayden Thomas announced his commitment date via Twitter:

In case you can’t see the tweet, Thomas will be committing Oct. 2. That is a special day for him because it is his grandma’s birthday.

At 6 feet, 1 inch, 200 pounds, Thomas has solid size. He will decide between UGA, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan and Arkansas.

Kirby Smart and Georgia have 15 commitments in the class of 2021. Thomas would be a great addition to the class. Can UGA persuade the four-star to stay in the Peach State?

Kirby Smart and the Dawgs have secured three straight elite recruiting classes. Look for the class of 2021 to be no different. Georgia has two wide receiver commitments: Adonai Mitchell, who flipped from Ole Miss, and Jackson Meeks.

Thomas frequently works out with Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver legend Terrence Edwards.

UGA football offers scholarship to 4-star OT E’Marion Harris

The University of Georgia has offered a scholarship to Arkansas offensive tackle prospect E’Marion Harris

The University of Georgia has offered a scholarship to offensive tackle prospect E’Marion Harris. Harris is a talented member of the class of 2022.

Harris has already received interest from some of college football’s top programs. Alabama, Texas A&M, Miami, and Oklahoma are among several of the schools to offer Harris a scholarship.

The Georgia Bulldogs join the list of schools vying for a commitment from the four-star offensive tackle recruit. E’Marion Harris plays high school football for Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

In fact, Arkansas is considered the favorite to entice Harris to commit to their program. It’ll be interesting to see how his recruitment shakes out because it could become a recruiting battle between Kirby Smart, Matt Luke (Georgia’s current offensive line coach) and Sam Pittman. Sam Pittman is now the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, but before landing that job he coached UGA’s offensive line.

Pittman is a proven on-field coach and an elite recruiter. Will he start to land Arkansas’s best talent? The Razorbacks have had a down few years, but Pittman will help them have a more physical team.

Harris announced his scholarship offer via his Twitter account:

Sam Pittman will do his best to secure the top talent of Arkansas, so it will be fascinating to see if he can win this recruiting battle against some of college football’s elite programs. Never count out Kirby Smart or Matt Luke for a top offensive line recruit.

Four-star wide receiver Ketron Jackson commits to Arkansas over Texas

Texas took another recruiting blow on Thursday, with WR Ketron Jackson committing to Arkansas. Jackson was a primary target for Texas.

Texas took another recruiting blow on Thursday with wide receiver Ketron Jackson committing to Arkansas. A four-star wide receiver, Jackson was an in-state miss for wide receivers coach Andre Coleman.

Coming out of Royse City, Texas, Jackson is seen as a longed framed receiver with incredible hands. Listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 186 pounds, his speed on the outside would have caused problems for Big 12 defenders.

Instead, Jackson will be heading to Fayetteville with newly hired head coach Sam Pittman. Former Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles was one of Jackson’s main recruiters.

Ranked the No. 150 player in the country, Jackson is Arkansas’ highest-rated commit in its 2021 class. The Razorbacks rank No. 8 in SEC recruiting according to 247Sports.

Jackson is also the No. 25 player in the state of Texas and the No. 26 wide receiver in the class.

The Longhorns’ 2021 class contains one wide receiver. Casey Cain, a three-star out of New Orleans, Louisiana, has been committed to Texas since May.

Now, if Texas wants to add another wide receiver to its class, J.J. Henry will be the primary target. Another in-state product, Henry is a four-star from McKinney.
