Nick Saban provides update on two injuries suffered in Week 7

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban provides key injury updates after Week 7.

In Week 7, Alabama defeated Arkansas 24-21 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Despite Alabama’s record in conference play remaining unscaved, that was not the case for several players.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke with the media following the win on Saturday afternoon. Saban had the following to say about the injury statuses of starting linebacker Trezmen Marshall and starting tight end CJ Dippre:

“I don’t think they’re badly hurt. One guy has a pulled muscle. The other guy’s got bruised ribs. I can’t tell you the extent of those injuries”

Clearly, Saban did not clarify as to which player suffered which injury. However, he did sound hopeful that both would be able to return sooner rather than later.

Marshall has been a key piece to Alabama’s defense this season. Through the first seven games of the season, he has tallied 40 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.

As for Dippre, he has contributed more as a run-blocker than a pass-catcher. Nonetheless, he has reeled in five receptions for 104 yards on the season.

It will be interesting to hear more information on each of their statuses heading into Alabama’s Week 8 matchup versus Tennessee.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program.

Nick Saban provides brief injury report after first practice of fall camp

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban provides brief injury report after first practice of fall camp!

On Thursday, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team returned to the practice field to begin preseason practice for the 2023 season. Excitement and anticipation are in the air as the Tide faithful have hopes for the team to hoist another national championship trophy.

Following Thursday’s practice, Coach Saban would address members of the media to give some insights on the first day and to provide an update on the team. Fortunately, for the Tide, the injury report is rather short as fall camp opens. Saban provided this brief injury report before fielding questions on Thursday.

“From a personnel standpoint, Thaiu Jones-Bell had some medical issues. So he’s on a medical this year. I think everybody worked together, except Jamarion Miller will be out for a couple days. He’s got a strained quad.

Roll Tide Wire reported before practice that Thaiu Jones-Bell was no longer listed on the official Alabama football roster, but the Jam Miller news was something that had not been reported on yet.

It appears Miller’s injury is not significant which is good. news considering he is expected to play a pivotal role in Alabama’s rushing attack this fall. During his freshman season in 2022, Miller rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football during fall camp and will provide any and all updates as they become available.

Nate Oats provides injury update on freshman forward Mouhamed Dioubate

After knee surgery, Freshman foward Mouhamed Dioubate ‘plans to return for this upcoming season’ according to Nate Oats.

A couple of weeks ago, Alabama Crimson Tide freshman forward Mouhamed Dioubate shared a photo on his Instagram story with his left knee heavily wrapped and in a brace, while Dioubate used crutches to stand. At that time, there had not been an official statement from the men’s basketball program regarding the injury.

On Wednesday, Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oats released a statement to BamaOnline providing an update on the injured left knee.

“Mo had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee performed by Dr. Lyle Cain on an injury discovered during the physical process,” said Oats. “He is expected to make a full recovery with plans to return this upcoming season.”

This is extremely fortunate news for Dioubate and Crimson Tide fans as the 6-foot-7 forward had expectations of making an early impact for Alabama this season.

Dioubate joined the Crimson Tide this offseason as part of the 2023 recruiting class as a four-star prospect from Flushing, New York.

Alabama DL Justin Eboigbe reports that he is fully cleared from neck injury

Justin Eboigbe is officially back!

Injuries are all but avoidable in the game of football, but last season when Alabama defensive linemen Justin Eboigbe suffered what was possibly a career-ending neck injury, it truly puts into perspective what these young men are risking when they step between the lines.

On Monday, Eboigbe reported the best news possible. The fifth-year senior is now fully healed and completely cleared to return to all normal football activities.

Eboigbe’s return will provide Alabama with an experienced player to add along the defensive front and if he can return to his form before his injury, he will be a valuable member of the Crimson Tide defense.

In his career, Eboigbe has collected 59 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks in 33 games played.

Alabama starting center Charles Bediako day-to-day with minor knee injury

Alabama starting center Charles Bediako has suffered a ‘minor knee injury’ according to Nate Oats.

Alabama fans received quite a scare early Tuesday morning when “reports” began to surface that Crimson Tide starting center, Charles Bediako had suffered an injury.

Foruntelely for Bediako and the Alabama faithful, the injury is not near as severe as initially thought.

“He did have a minor knee injury in the Auburn game,” Alabama head coach [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] said Tuesday. “He played through it. He’s day-to-day. He’s gotten better every day since the Auburn game. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow on game day, but it is a knee injury. It’s a minor one. It’s day-to-day right now.”

Bediako has played in and started, all 25 games this season for the Tide. The 7-foot Canadian was averaging 5.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while playing an average of 20.4 minutes per contest.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Bediako’s injury status and will provide an update as soon as any are available.

Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 7 vs. Tennessee Volunteers

The latest injury report for Alabama Football heading into Week 7 matchup with Tennessee.

Alabama fans, coaches, and players are all hopeful that quarterback Bryce Young will be able to return this week for the important matchup against Tennessee. This past weekend he was replaced by sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe, who played well enough for Alabama to walk away with a win, but not strong enough for fans to be content with him starting against the Vols.

The offense showed some room for improvement but still did enough to help the Crimson Tide come away with the Week 6 win. The defense played well without starting linebacker Jaylen Moody and starting defensive end Justin Eboigbe. Players like Deontae Lawson and Jamil Burroughs played well this past weekend as their replacements.

Today, Roll Tide Wire will provide you with the latest injury update ahead of Alabama’s Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 6 vs. Texas A&M Aggies

The latest injury report for Alabama Football heading into Week 6 matchup with Texas A&M.

Alabama was mostly healthy for the Week 5 matchup against Arkansas. Wide receiver JoJo Earle made his season debut. Although we haven’t seen either Tyler Harrell or Aaron Anderson in game action, both were suited up against Vanderbilt, but the two did not make the trip to Fayetteville this past weekend.

The Crimson Tide did suffer injuries on both sides of the ball. One of the most notable injuries occurred in the first half when junior quarterback Bryce Young suffered a shoulder injury. Several other defensive players sustained injuries during the game as well.

Here’s a look at the latest injury report ahead of Alabama’s Week 6 matchup against Texas A&M.

Nick Saban confirms Drew Sanders is out for Mississippi State

Nick Saban said Drew Sanders is practicing but is not fully ready for game action yet.

Problems at the outside linebacker position across from Will Anderson have continued. After Christopher Allen went down with a foot injury for the season, Drew Sanders was supposed to be the one to step up as the replacement.

Now, Alabama will be without the sophomore for the second consecutive week. Sanders is dealing with a hand injury. Nick Saban said he is practicing but is not fully ready for game action yet.

“He’s out there in pads every day but it’s not safe for him to use his hand yet,” said Saban. So he’s not going to play this week.”

With an injury like a hand, being able to lightly practice is possible. Going full contact is where Sanders would be limited, especially at an important position on the edge.

Going into Texas A&M, Saban said Sanders was going to be “game-to-game for a few weeks.” All we can do now is wait for next week’s injury report heading into Tennessee.

Freshman Dallas Turner and sophomore Chris Braswell are still expected to pick up for the injured Sanders. The former was able to record five tackles and one tackle for loss against the Aggies.

Mississippi State will provide a different gameplan, though, with some more rotation from Turner. With how often Mike Leach is going to air it out, the pass rush will need to be subbing in and out for all four quarters. Turner may be the main guy but Braswell will get opportunities.

Alabama football: Injury report heading into matchup with Miami

Injury update heading into the week one matchup with the Miami Hurricanes

Alabama and Miami are set to face off inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA this Saturday in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

A common concern heading into any contest is player availability. There are a couple of injuries that need to be updated.

Senior offensive tackle Kendall Randolph injured his ankle in the first scrimmage of fall camp, but head coach Nick Saban mentioned in his press conference on Monday that Randolph was back healthy and the offensive line was intact.

The news is not quite as promising for junior safety DeMarrco Hellams. Hellams also suffered an ankle injury during fall camp and at the moment is questionable for Saturday’s game against Miami.

Finally, senior defensive lineman LaBryan Ray, who suffered a groin injury at the end of the summer, looks to be healthy and has been participating in practice.

Stay tuned to Roll Tide Wire for all the latest on the Crimson Tide!
