Our latest 2024 NFL mock draft roundup found that the experts are predicting the New Orleans Saints will target pass rushers, offensive linemen, and wide receivers with their first pick in the upcoming selection event. And all of those positions make sense for a Saints team that has struggled to win at the line of scrimmage and consistently generate big plays.

Here’s a quick look at the 2024 draft prospects being linked to the Saints:

Portal or Recruit: Where Texas found its 2023 starters

Building through recruiting and supplementing through the transfer portal has resulted in a powerhouse at Texas.

The transfer portal has greatly aided the Texas Longhorns’ build toward a championship roster. Even so, the team has excelled at developing players that originally committed to Texas.

There are several homegrown Longhorns. Multiple players who have been at the program four years or longer, like wide receiver Jordan Whittington and defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, are going to be honored over Senior Day. Texas has developed a handful of other players like defensive tackle Byron Murphy, edge rusher Barryn Sorrell and tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders.

The Longhorns have still done well to find contributors through the transfer portal to be sure. Among those players, the team pulled receivers Xavier Worthy from Michigan and Adonai Mitchell from Georgia. Nevertheless, the team is doing right by players who chose Texas from the start as well.

There’s a healthy mix of portal players and recruits on the roster. Here’s a look at how the Texas starting lineup is constructed.

Lions draft: 10 early candidates to be Detroit’s 1st-round pick in 2024

An early look at 10 prospects who figure to appeal to the Detroit Lions with their top pick in the 2024 NFL draft

The college football season is quickly coming to an end, believe it or not. That means the draft prospect evaluation season is really starting to heat up.

Normally, the NFL draft is a bigger priority amongst Lions fans at this time of the year. And while the scouting staff has been operating like always, the success of the 7-2, first-place Lions has put the draft on the back burner for most fans.

In looking ahead at the 2024 NFL draft, which will take place in Detroit next April, the draft range for the Lions top pick figures to be in the 25-32 overall range of the first round. Picking that much later opens up a lot more possibilities for the Lions and what player(s) they might target.

Here are 10 prospects who appear to fit what the Lions want in a prospect and would fill a need on the Detroit roster. It’s just an early look at who the Lions figure to have some interest in drafting with their top pick. They are listed here in alphabetical order.

Playmakers like Texas WR Adonai Mitchell are the difference in close games

Adonai Mitchell is one of a few Longhorns that can go and win Texas a game.

The Texas Longhorns found themselves on the brink of a season-shattering upset on Saturday. Star receiver Adonai Mitchell ended the upset bid in one play.

After a three-touchdown fourth quarter by the TCU Horned Frogs, Texas led the game by just three points. After two plays netted -2 yards, the Longhorns stared down a 3rd and 12 play. A failed conversion would give TCU the ball back with a chance to win. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterback Quinn Ewers knew where to throw the ball.

Ewers dropped back and heaved an underthrown go route to the Longhorns’ best 50-50 threat. With the game on the line, Adonai Mitchell made the play.

Players like Mitchell are why Texas can go on a Big 12 title run. Mitchell, like fellow receivers Xavier Worthy, Ja’Tavion Sanders and Jordan Whittington are difference makers. They make the plays necessary to carry their team to victory.

Over the last 10 seasons, Texas has never had more game-changing players than it has right now. And while it probably shouldn’t continue to live on the edge every week, players like Mitchell can be counted on to make the plays that bail the team out of trouble.

Mitchell is a primary reason the Texas Longhorns are 9-1. He will look to continue his program elevating play in the next two games.

Social media reacts to Texas’ 29-26 win over TCU

Another week, another near disaster for the No. 7 Texas Longhorns.

Another week, another near disaster for the No. 7 Texas Longhorns.

Texas defeated TCU 29-26 on Saturday, but not after giving fans another heart attack.

After leading TCU at halftime 19-6, the Horned Frogs stormed back in the fourth quarter to make it a three-point game.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian seemed comfortable with the lead and made some very conservative play calls, resulting in TCU making it a close game.

Following a Horned Frogs touchdown, Adonai Mitchell iced the game with a 35-yard reception for a first down.

Texas seems to make the game interesting every week but still manages to pull away with the victory.

The Longhorns are now 9-1 on the season and sit atop the Big 12 with two games left to play. Texas takes on the Iowa State Cyclones next week in Ames, Iowa.

Here is how social media reacted to Texas’ close win.
