No. 3 Texas has one of the most talented rosters in college football this season.
The 2024 NFL draft is expected to reflect that, as the Longhorns have over a handful of potential high draft picks. Over the offseason, players such as Xavier Worthy, Quinn Ewers, T’Vondre Sweat and Ja’Tavion Sanders were projected to go in the first round of a variety of NFL mock drafts.
Through five weeks of the season, PFF’s updated mock draft projects just one Texas player to be selected in the first round. Trevor Sikkema has the Kansas City Chiefs selecting wide receiver Adonai Mitchell with the No. 31 overall pick.
The Chiefs need that go-to receiver who isn’t Travis Kelce, who is also getting up there in age. Mitchell feels like one of the most underrated players in this draft class right now. The 6-foot-4 receiver has very good movement skills and has been successful as a deep threat and as a short-to-intermediate receiver. He feels like the total package.
Mitchell is coming off a career game against Kansas last week, hauling in 10 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown. He has recorded 22 receptions for 321 yards and four touchdowns so far this season.
