Charles Woodson responds perfectly to Aaron Scott’s Ohio State OV tweet

This is the most epic tweet of all time. #GoBlue

Michigan football was hoping to lure an unlikely duo north to Ann Arbor after growing up in enemy territory.

Though it lost out on Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville four-star cornerback Bryce West, who committed to Ohio State on Saturday, hope still remains for Springfield (Ohio) four-star corner Aaron Scott, who took his official visit to Columbus this past weekend.

Unlike West, Scott did not pledge to the home state Buckeyes, leaving the door open for the Wolverines. And one prominent Wolverine is letting him know where he’s wanted most.

Charles Woodson knows a little something about growing up in Ohio and then wearing a winged helmet. He shocked the world choosing the maize and blue before coming to Ann Arbor and winning the only Heisman Trophy given to a defensive player.

Generally, when recruits tweet, you don’t see many former players chiming in, let alone full-on legends. But when Scott tweeted his pictures from his visit to Columbus, Woodson had to have a say.

Epic.

No matter what one thinks of the visit, if you’re truly on the fence and you’re getting the greatest of all time chiming in to indicate what school is better, you’re probably going to listen.

Fans certainly hope Scott does.

Update: Scott acknowledged the shout out.

LOOK: Top 2024 CB target shows love to Michigan on social media

Gotta love seeing this! #GoBlue

2024 Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott is headed to Ohio State this weekend for an official visit.

Scott has a final five that consists of Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee. However, most people believe this recruitment will be a Michigan vs. Ohio State battle.

Then on Friday morning, before Scott heads to Columbus for his visit, he shouted out Michigan on his Twitter page. He posted four photos of himself in the maize and blue uniform from the official visit he took in Ann Arbor last weekend.

Scott is listed as a four-star recruit, the 39th-ranked player in the country, and depending on which service you look at, he’s either the No. 1 or No. 2 ranked player in Ohio.

It appeared Scott really bonded with current Michigan commits when he took his official visit to Ann Arbor. In fact, Wolverine commit Jacob Oden told Brice Marich with The Michigan Insider that he and Scott hung out the entire weekend and he belives Scott could see himself playing in Ann Arbor.

Scott is currently viewed as an Ohio State lean. Looking at On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes have a 95.9% chance of landing the Springfield star.

Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith hints an elite corner should be joining him

A very interesting development ahead of the weekend #GoBucks

They say that the best want to compete with the best and that gives [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] a distinct advantage over competitors regarding secondary recruiting.

If a defensive back wants to go against the best wide receivers in the country, it’s hard to argue that Columbus isn’t the place for them. Multiple first round NFL draft selections over the past few years and the ones that weren’t, i.e. [autotag]Terry McLaurin[/autotag], have blossomed into stars.

Offensive coordinator [autotag]Brian Hartline[/autotag] is churning out elite wide receiver talent and enticing defensive backs to come compete against the best. Buckeye wide receiver commit [autotag]Jeremiah Smith[/autotag] is using that tactic as well, as he retweeted a post regarding Ohio cornerback [autotag]Bryce West[/autotag] making return visit to Michigan after his official.

There were rumors of a visit by West back to Ann Arbor would happen prior to his official to Columbus this weekend, but it turns out that won’t happen and Smith insinuates that West might be joining him.

This visit is big for West and another top in-state cornerback target [autotag]Aaron Scott[/autotag]. If the Buckeyes hit a home run with both of them, we could see the top remaining Ohio targets verbal to Ohio State.

June 16 recruiting weekend for Michigan football, top players on campus

Some serious talent taking official visits this weekend! #GoBlue

Michigan is coming off a big recruiting weekend during which it had two five-stars on campus: Ryan Wingo and Justin Scott.

The Wolverines also had multiple priority targets on campus, including four-star cornerback Bryce West, who has since narrowed his finalists to Michigan and Ohio State.

The June 16 official visit weekend is upon us. While the Wolverines do not have any five-star talent scheduled to visit Ann Arbor this weekend, some big names and targets will be.

According to the 247Sports official visit list, Michigan will have 10 players taking official visits from the 2024 class.

Here are the players that will be on campus this weekend.

Report: Ohio’s top 2024 prospect to officially visit Ohio State at the end of June

A huge visit set up for the Buckeyes at the end of the month #GoBucks

One of the nation’s best prospects resides in Springfield, Ohio and the home state team, [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] has a legit chance at keeping the star in-state.

Cornerback [autotag]Aaron Scott[/autotag], ranked as the 6th best at his position and 56th overall player according to the 247Sports composite, released his top five recently.

In a report by 247Sports Steve Wiltfong, Scott has scheduled his visit to Columbus for the weekend of June 23rd. The cornerback said his “family loves them. Being able to play for one of the national contending teams every year. It doesn’t get better than that and staying home. I feel like they get a lot of DBs to the draft. Why not go to a school that gets your position to the draft every year? I feel it makes sense if it were to happen.”

Scott has also set up visits to Oregon and Michigan, those two should be viewed as the Buckeyes’ top competition. He also told Wiltfong that he wants to commit in July, so the visits will go a long way to helping Scott make his decision.

It’s always hard to read into how visits are stacked, but at the current moment, Ohio State will get the final shot at wooing Scott.

Ducks land among top schools for No. 3 rated CB in 2024 class

Ducks land among top schools for No. 3 rated CB in 2024 class

It looks like the Oregon Ducks are continuing to stay in a great spot when it comes to the recruitment of 4-star cornerback Aaron Scott.

A couple of months ago, Scott announced his top 12 schools, including the Ducks. On Thursday, Scott trimmed that list down to five schools, and Oregon was still in the mix, alongside Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, and Penn State.

Scott is rated by 247Sports as the No. 35 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 3 cornerback in the nation. The elite CB came out to Eugene for a visit at the start of May, and reportedly enjoyed his time and opportunity to meet with the coaching staff.

There is currently a crystal ball forecast on 247Sports for Scott to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes, his hometown team. However, we will see if Dan Lanning and Demetrice Martin can continue to push and get into the mix down to the end.

Key 2024 Michigan football target in Ohio releases top 12

#Michigan really needs to win this recruiting battle. #GoBlue

Michigan football has had a great deal of success recruiting the Buckeye State recently.

It started with cornerback Cam Calhoun’s commitment moments after the Wolverines beat rival Ohio State in Columbus in 2022. In the 2023 class, Michigan added linebacker Jason Hewlett and defensive back D’Juan Waller, both Ohio natives. In 2024, the maize and blue have so far secured pledges from offensive tackle Luke Hamilton, OT Ben Roebuck, defensive tackle Ted Hammond and running back Jordan Marshall. The latter was OSU’s top in-state priority in the recruiting cycle. Now the Wolverines are looking to pull a few more that the Buckeyes want.

Atop the board is cornerback Aaron Scott from Springfield (Ohio). The No. 11 player in the country according to On3, he, along with Glenville standout Bryce West, are top priorities for both rival schools. Scott released his top 12 on Monday night, and Michigan made the cut, along with Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, USC, Florida State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Pitt.

Ohio State is the 247Sports crystal ball leader, so Michigan will need to do some work to reel him in. The battle for his pledge looks to be among the Wolverines, Buckeyes and Kentucky Wildcats at the moment.

Oregon Ducks make the cut for top-5 cornerback in 2024 class

The Ducks landed among the top schools for 4-star Aaron Scott, the No. 4 CB in the 2024 class.

The Oregon Ducks are working hard on the recruiting trail, and putting themselves in a great position to land some top-end talent down the road.

The latest highly-rated player to have eyes for Oregon is 4-star cornerback Aaron Scott, a blue-chip player from Ohio who recently included the Ducks in his top-12 cutdown.

Scott is rated by 247Sports as the No. 36 player in the 2024 class, and No. 4 cornerback overall. He currently is predicted to end up landing with his home state Ohio State Buckeyes, but after receiving an offer from the Ducks a couple of months ago, it is likely we see him at least take a visit to Eugene to check out what Dan Lanning and his staff have cooking.

No. 1 prospect in Ohio includes Vols in top 12 schools

The No. 1 prospect in Ohio includes Tennessee in his top-12 schools.

Four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. announced his top 12 schools on Sunday.

Tennessee, Oregon, USC, Florida State, Michigan, Penn State, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Ohio State are Scott’s top 12.

The 5-foot-11 1/2, 165-pound cornerback is from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio.

Scott is the No. 43 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 4 cornerback nationally and the No. 1 player in Ohio, according to the On3 sports industry rankings.

He earned first-team all-state, first-team all-region and first-team all-area honors last season. Scott finished his junior season with five interceptions, seven pass breakups and two defensive touchdowns.

Ohio State included in top 12 of in-state high priority cornerback target

The Buckeyes would love to see him stay home #GoBucks

In recent years, [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] has been very selective in recruiting in-state players. The 2024 class has been no different, though there have been more offers than in recent years.

One of those went to Springfield’s [autotag]Aaron Scott[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback has been very active with visits this spring, recently visiting Columbus and Notre Dame.

With Scott inching toward a decision, he released his top 12 schools on Sunday. Ohio State made the list. He is a top target for the Buckeyes, considering he’s a top-100 player, No. 71 nationally by the 247Sports composite and right in their backyard.

Scott has not made a decision on when he will make a commitment, but Ohio State has to like its chances.

He’s even being recruited by five-star Buckeye wide receiver commitment Jeremiah Smith to stay home.

Hopefully, he more than hears Smith’s attempt for him to stay in Ohio.
