Johnny “Lam” Jones
Johnny “Lam” Jones was known more as a track star than a football player. He won a gold medal in the 1976 Olympic Games. He spent seven seasons in the NFL after being drafted by the New York Jets. He was given the nickname “Lam” by legendary head coach Darrell K. Royal to distinguish the two Johnny Jones’ on the team. The other was nicknamed “Ham”.

- Member of U.S. Olympic track team in 1976
- Football team MVP in 1978 and All-America in 1978 and 1979

- 1980 first round draft pick of New York Jets, where he played seven seasons (1980-86)
- Hall of Honor inductee in 1994
Annette Smith-Knight
Annette Smith-Knight was part of the 1986 National Champion team. She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 2013 class. She is still the number one scorer in Texas Longhorns women’s basketball history. She currently serves as an executive assistant at the University of Texas in the athletics department.
