Colt McCoy, Quarterback
Colt McCoy is one of the best quarterbacks to ever put on the burnt orange jersey. After redshirting in 2005, McCoy would become a four-year starter for the Longhorns. He set the freshman record for wins with 10, besting Major Applewhites mark for eight wins back in 1998. He also owns the record for starts by a freshman at 13. Shane Buechele came close with 12 in 2016. McCoy also holds the freshman record for touchdowns in a single game with six against Baylor and an entire season with 29.
McCoy owns countless school records including total offense in a single season (4,420) and for a career (14,824). He also owns the school records for most passing yards in a game, season and career. He is the best pure passing quarterback in school history. Overall, Colt McCoy owns 47 school records.
