Isaiah Todd not signing NLI in early period, still plans to play at Michigan

Looks like Michigan will have to wait a few more months until the prized jewel of the 2020 class makes it official.

When Michigan got the commitment of five-star Isaiah Todd, fans were through the roof with excitement. As was, of course, new head coach Juwan Howard.

But the security of the five-star signing his letter of intent in the early signing period now looks like it won’t happen.

Despite Detroit Free Press writer Orion Sang posting on Twitter on Monday that the expectation was that Todd would sign once the early signing period opened on Wednesday, it now appears Todd will not be formally committing at this juncture, as we will instead be waiting until spring, according to USA TODAY Sports’ Jason Jordan.

Michigan commit Isaiah Todd to wait until the spring

Todd is the highest ranked (No. 8 in the Chosen 25) committed recruit that does not plan to sign during the Early Period. Todd, a forward at Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, North Carolina), said he “can’t wait” to play at Michigan next season, but isn’t ready to sign.

Certainly, that will have the maize and blue faithful on eggshells until that time, with the traditional signing period starting on April 15.

Meanwhile, the other commit of the 2020 class, Ohio’s Zeb Jackson did make his commitment official on Wednesday, as Michigan announced his signing of a national letter of intent.

Michigan State Basketball signs two recruits during early signing period

AJ Hoggard and Mady Sissoko are officially Spartans

Today is the first day basketball players in the class of 2020 can sign their national letters of intent and Michigan State’s two basketball commits did just that.

AJ Hoggard and Mady Sissoko both announced on Twitter that they had signed and sent in their NLIs.

Hoggard is a point guard out of Huntington Prep in West Virginia. He is rated as the No. 13 point guard in the country and No. 71 player overall by 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Sissoko will head to East Lansing from Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. The 6’9 center is rated as the No. 7 player at his position and the No. 37 player in the class of 2020.

Longhorns football loses yet another commitment

2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns

After two long weeks of losing commits and being demoted in the rankings, it seemed like Texas was back on track after upsetting 16th-ranked Kansas State.

But the bad news continues to pile on.

Over the past few weeks, the Longhorns have lost multiple 2020 football recruits as they decommitted from the program. Now, they will lose another prospect, this time from the 2021 class.

On Monday, 2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis announced his decision to decommit from Texas. Davis was the first commitment for Texas’ 2021 class.

Davis first posted the news via Twitter.

With the loss of Davis, Texas now has seven commitments for 2021, five of which are 4-stars and two of which are 3-stars. The bad news for the Longhorns has to end sometime, right?

A lot can change for both Webb and the Georgia program in three years. This will be interesting to monitor moving forward.

Treyaun Webb, a 2023 athlete, has verbally committed to the University of Georgia. Webb is from Jacksonville, Florida and plays football at Trinity Christian Academy.

Webb named UGA his leaders back in February. Today, he committed to Georgia via Twittter:

Webb is UGA’s first commitment in either the class of 2022 or 2023. Kirby Smart and company only have three commits in the class of 2021. Webb has a long way to go throughout the process and several years to develop before he’d come to Athens.

Webb is only 180 pounds and is six feet tall. He may grow some more before he plays in college. It’s another win for Georgia recruiting.

Michigan State lands 2020 3-Star WR Montorie Foster Jr.

MSU has landed a unique wide receiver prospect for their 2020 recruiting class.

We reported last week that Michigan State had offered a scholarship to 3-star wideout Montorie Foster Jr. Well, he was in town this weekend, and despite taking in a pretty terrible loss by the Spartans to Illinois he still committed play football in East Lansing in 2020.

Foster is a very intriguing, unique prospect in that he stopped playing football in middle school, but decided to return to the sport just before this season and has already become a 3-star in that short period of time.

Michigan State may be getting a steal here who slipped by other teams due to his lack of experience. If the Spartans can get him polished up he could be a huge weapon for Noah Kim down the road.

2021 WR Jaylin Noel Earns Offer from Wisconsin

Wisconsin extends a scholarship in the 2021 class in wide receiver Jaylin Noel.

Wisconsin’s 2020 recruiting class won’t be able to officially sign their letter of intent until the early signing period starting December 18. Wisconsin’s coaching staff still has to fill out the remainder of the 2020 class but that hasn’t prevented them from evaluating and offering prospects from the 2021 class.

On Sunday Wisconsin extended another scholarship offer in the 2021 class to wide receiver Jaylin Noel as Noel was on an unofficial visit to Wisconsin this past weekend to see Wisconsin beat Iowa.

It was Noel’s sixth scholarship offer and third from the Big Ten. Noel from Park High School in Kansas City, Mo. also holds scholarships from Iowa, Minnesota, Iowa State, Kansas State, and South Dakota State.

The wide receiver position could be one of the more heavily populated positions in the 2021 class considering Wisconsin over the next two years is set to lose four scholarship players at the position. Wisconsin currently has two wide receivers committed in the 2020 class as the Badgers in the 2021 class will likely exceed that number to replenish the talent at the position.

Noel is currently unranked by Rivals but he is rated as a three star prospect by 247 Sports. Wisconsin currently has five commitments in the 2021 recruiting class.
