4-star UGA football target Xavier Worthy releases top six

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top schools for four-star wide receiver Xavier Worthy

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top schools for four-star wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Worthy is a member of the class of 2021 and is from Fresno, California (UGA’s Kendall Milton also hails from the area). Worthy plays football for Central East High School.

Worthy tweeted his top six schools:

Worthy puts UGA, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, and LSU in his top schools. Where will the four-star wide receiver go?

Worthy would be a solid addition to Georgia’s class of 2021. Kirby Smart and Georgia are shaping up to have one of the more impressive recruiting classes  in the country once again.

The Dawgs are currently still seeking a talented wide receiver to commit in the class of 2021. Georgia has beefed up the offensive and defensive fronts already.

For Worthy to consider himself “The Real Flash”, then he must be a speedy receiver. The University of Georgia is continuing to select the top talent throughout the country to come to Athens.

On a day when Michigan made a few final group lists of some big time recruits, it wasn’t done making noise on the recruiting trail.

One of the Wolverines’ top targets in 2021 has been Wallington (CT) Rosemary Choate three-star offensive tackle Tristan Bounds, the 6-foot-7.5, 285-pound behemoth with offers from Notre Dame, Texas, Virginia Tech and many others.

But with Ed Warinner’s track record and an already solid offensive line class in the making, Bounds apparently saw all he needed to see. He took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to announce that his future is in Ann Arbor and that he’ll continue his football career wearing maize and blue.

Bounds’ becomes Michigan’s 17th commit in the 2021 class, one that’s rated No. 5 by the 247Sports team rankings. He’s rated as the No. 662 recruit in the country per the 247Sports Composite and is the No. 3 player in the state of Connecticut.

Wisconsin football staff and recruiting analysts have been teasing news all week and the first headline is finally here: the Badgers have received a commitment from class of 2021 three-star defensive end Darryl Peterson.

Peterson chose the Badgers over Alabama, Penn State, Michigan and others as he becomes the first player to commit to Wisconsin since the launch of @Wisc_Recruiting on Twitter earlier today.

This news came not even 10 minutes after the recruiting page tweeted this:

The Archbishop Hoban High School product is the No. 17-ranked recruit from his home state of Ohio and is the No. 31-ranked strong side defensive end in the class of 2021.

He now is set to join the Badgers’ impressive 2021 class that seems to be continuing to grow.

In-state 3-star CB chooses Ole Miss over Tennessee, others

In-state 3-star CB chooses Ole Miss over Tennessee, others.

Although Tennessee has been red-hot on the recruiting trail for the last few months, most of the top prospects in the 2021 recruiting class are not in-state talents.

Another in-state prospect announced his commitment on Sunday, as 3-star cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove declared he will attend Ole Miss to play for Lane Kiffin.

Breedlove is from Nashville, and attends Pearl-Cohn High School, a powerhouse in class 3A. The 247Sports Composite rates Breedlove as the No. 31 athlete in the country, and No. 14 player in Tennessee. Auburn, Georgia, Baylor and several others joined the Vols as teams to miss out on him. Wide receivers coach Tee Martin and defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley were assigned to Breedlove as his lead recruiters for UT.

24 players are committed to Tennessee’s 2021 recruiting class, with only two in-state players in 3-star wideout Walker Merrill from Brentwood and 3-star running back Elijah Howard from Chattanooga.

Elite wideout places Michigan in final group

The Wolverines make the final cut, but the elite wideout has five other schools in top contention.

Michigan was hoping to get some good news on Monday in terms of the recruitment of one of its highest priorities in the 2021 class, and it looks like the Wolverines got it.

The maize and blue have been in high pursuit of speedy 2021 Fresno (CA) Central East four-star wide receiver Xavier Worthy, a player that’s not only been drawing the attention of the coaches, but many of the current players who have persistently made Twitter pitches for him to come to Ann Arbor. A player who runs a 10.55 100-meter dash, Worthy is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 141 prospect in the country and the 24th-best wide receiver in the class.

And on Monday, Worthy placed Michigan in his top six.

However, his top six is a who’s who of elite programs. He also includes Alabama, LSU, Oregon, Georgia and Auburn to be in his final mix.

Josh Gattis is leading the charge for Michigan in his recruitment.

Michigan makes cut for top-flight 2021 prospect

The Wolverines make the cut for the top-flight defensive back.

One position that Michigan continues to strongly target is cornerback, where it currently has one player committed in the 2021 class in Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star JaDen McBurrows. But it’s looking to add another.

A player that’s long been a target of the Wolverines is another defensive back from Florida in Lehigh Acres (FL) Senior four-star Omarion Cooper, a player with 27 reported offers including Texas, Penn State, Florida, Florida State, Miami (FL) and Tennessee.

While he still is looking at some SEC and ACC schools, the maize and blue faithful can rejoice at the Wolverines’ efforts, as Cooper placed Michigan in his recently released Top 6 on Monday morning — along with Penn State, Texas, Louisville, FSU and South Carolina.

Via the 247Sports Composite, Cooper is rated the No. 271 player in the country, regardless of position, the No. 40 prospect in the state of Florida and the 18th-best cornerback.

He currently has one 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction which indicates that Florida State could be his future destination.
