The consensus among NFL experts was that Philadelphia was one of the biggest winners from the draft weekend. At the same time, the Commanders retooled their roster and culture by selecting quarterback Jayden Daniels at No. 2 overall.

The Giants chose Malik Nabers (LSU) over potentially trading up for a quarterback. Dallas traded back and came away with a solid class with potential All-Pros at offensive tackle and guard and a sleeper pick at the edge rusher slot.

Now that we’ve gone through all 257 NFL draft picks, teams are holding their rookie minicamps, and we’re analyzing the draft hauls for all four NFC East teams.

1/22 Quinyon Mitchell CB Toledo
2/40 Cooper DeJean CB Iowa
3/94 Jalyx Hunt EDGE Houston Christian
4/127 Will Shipley RB Clemson
5/152 Ainias Smith WR Texas A&M
5/155 Jeremiah Trotter Jr. LB Clemson
5/172 Trevor Keegan G Michigan
6/185 Johnny Wilson WR Florida State
6/190 Dylan McMahon C NC State

GM Howie Roseman landed the top-ranked corners in Quinyon Mitchell (20) and Cooper DeJean (40) without having to trade away a first-round pick. DeJean can play safety, nickel cornerback, and outside cornerback. Jalyx Hunt (94) is a raw pass rusher who should help upgrade a unit ranked 30th in points allowed per game (25.2).

Roseman made eight trades and then added 2025 third-, fourth- and fifth-round selections (one of each), setting up Philadelphia for 9+ picks next April. Looking to add more weapons to Kellen Moore’s offense, the Eagles selected former Clemson running back Will Shipley; the splash pick was Roseman landing his Clemson teammate and legacy linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (155). One late-round pick to watch is former FSU wideout, 6-foot-6 wideout Johnny Wilson (185), who is now the tallest wide receiver in the NFL.

1/2 Jayden Daniels QB LSU
2/36 Jer’Zhan Newton DT Illinois
2/50 Mike Sainristil CB Michigan
2/53 Ben Sinnott TE Kansas State
3/67 Brandon Coleman OT TCU
3/100 Luke McCaffrey WR Rice
5/139 Jordan Magee LB Temple
5/161 Dominique Hampton S Washington
7/222 Javontae Jean-Baptiste EDGE Notre Dame

The Commanders have a new lease on life after rehauling the franchise with a new owner (Josh Harris), general manager (Adam Peters), and coach (Dan Quinn). Peters, who had been in the 49ers’ front office since 2017, got busy by adding a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback with the 2nd pick.

On Day 2, they added pass-rushing defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton (36) and then the best Nickel cornerback in the draft by selecting Michigan’s Mike Sainristil (50). Tight end Ben Sinnott (53) can be a rookie security blanket for Daniels. Brandon Coleman (67) can cross-train at multiple positions, while Luke McCaffrey (100) has the pedigree to be a really good contributor.

1/6 Malik Nabers WR LSU
2/47 Tyler Nubin S Minnesota
3/70 Andru Phillips CB Kentucky
4/107 Theo Johnson TE Penn State
5/166 Tyrone Tracy Jr. RB Purdue
6/183 Darius Muasau LB UCLA

The Giants passed on quarterback J.J. McCarthy for a true star receiver in former LSU pass catcher Malik Nabers. Nabers was rated ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. on some draft boards and he’ll make Daniel Jones better on Day 1.

Tyler Nubin (47) had 13 career interceptions for the Golden Gophers. Dru Phillips (70) can play the slot cornerback and former Penn State tight end Theo Johnson (107) could be a Day 1 starter with Darren Waller’s future up in the air

1/29 Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma
2/56 Marshawn Kneeland EDGE Western Michigan
3/73 Cooper Beebe G Kansas State
3/87 Marist Liufau LB Notre Dame
5/174 Caelen Carson CB Wake Forest
6/216 Ryan Flournoy WR Southeast Missouri State
7/233 Nathan Thomas OT Louisiana
7/244 Justin Rogers DT Auburn

Dallas traded down five spots, gained a third-round pick, and still landed the draft’s most athletic offensive tackle in Tyler Guyton (29). Guyton will have a chance to be their starter at left tackle.

Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (56) is excellent against the run and can continue to develop pass-rush moves playing alongside DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons. Former Kansas State offensive guard Cooper Beebe (73) has the talent and nastiness to develop into an All-Pro. Marist Liufau (87) will have to prove he’s not a liability against the pass, but he’ll help stop the run. Caelen Carson (174) is a sleeper cornerback who was a starter for four seasons at Wake Forest and could develop into the next Daron Bland under Al Harris.

All four teams in the division landed impact players with their first-round picks, but there was some drop-off after the Eagles and Commanders class. Mike Sainristil has All-Pro potential for Washington, while Philadelphia’s secondary received a dramatic upgrade from the additions of Mitchell and DeJean. Nabers will be a hit for the Giants, while Theo Johnson could be the next young star at tight end. Dallas was patient over the weekend and added talented depth in the trenches while getting a little heavier at the linebacker position.

Report: Eagles sign CB Shon Stephens after impressive showing at rookie minicamp

Philadelphia Eagles to sign CB Shon Stephens after impressive showing at rookie minicamp

Andrew DiCecco reports that the Eagles are adding another talented young cornerback to the roster. The team will sign Shon Stephens after his impressive showing at the rookie minicamp.

Stephens seemed to confirm the news.

The standout from the D-II powerhouse Ferris State opened eyes during his Pro Day performance on the campus of Michigan State back in March.

Stephens is the nephew of longtime NFL linebacker Joey Porter and a cousin of Joey Porter Jr., a first-round pick in 2023. Stephens didn’t play for three seasons after he was denied transfer eligibility at Penn State in 2019 and Purdue in 2023 as a grad transfer.

Stephens started garnering NFL attention after becoming a ballhawk in his one season for the Bulldogs after transferring from West Liberty. He was a Cliff Harris Award finalist and a D-II All-American.

NFL schedule release: When will 2024 slate of games be revealed for all 32 teams?

The 2024 NFL schedule is currently slated to be released at 8pm ET on May 15, per memo to teams this afternoon via Ben Fischer

After months of waiting, there’s only one week until all 32 NFL teams, fans and league experts will find out the official 2024 regular season schedule.

Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal reports that NFL teams were informed on Tuesday that the regular-season schedule is expected to be released next Wednesday, May 15th.

The Bengals, Ravens, and Rams highlight the Eagles’ 2024 opponents list, and we already know that Philadelphia will open up in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.

Philadelphia previously had one of the more difficult schedules over the past two years, but 2024 will see the Eagles among the top ten easiest schedules based on win-loss percentages from last year.

Eagles director of scouting Brandon Hunt to interview for Patriots GM role

The Eagles could be set to lose another key member of the front office personnel, as Adam Schefter reports that Brandon Hunt will interview for the Patriots lead personnel job (GM).

The Eagles could be set to lose another key front office personnel member, as Adam Schefter reports that Brandon Hunt will interview for the Patriots’ lead personnel job (GM).

Hunt was a homegrown talent for the Steelers and a Pittsburgh native who attended IUP and had been learning on the job under Kevin Colbert for almost 15 years.

Hunt officially joined Pittsburgh’s scouting department in 2010 and was named the pro scouting coordinator for Houston after Doug Whaley was hired as the general manager of the Buffalo Bills.

The move to Philadelphia was essentially a trade of front-office personnel, with Andy Weidl joining the Steelers as Omar Khan’s assistant GM.

For New England, the interview process is a chance to balance the front office with proper titles after former head coach Bill Belichick did not have a traditionally titled general manager in his 24 seasons.

Krafts (ownership) hasn’t employed one since owning the team, and current senior personnel Eliot Wolf is the favorite to land the job.

Former Eagles RB Rashaad Penny to sign with Panthers

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Rashaad Penny is signing a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers

The Panthers continue to reshape their roster and have added another former Eagle to the running back room.

Jeremy Fowler reports Rashaad Penny is planning to sign a one-year deal.

Penny signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason but spent most of the season inactive after D’Andre Swift was acquired via trade.

Penny finished the season with 11 carries for 33 yards in three regular-season games, adding one catch for five yards.

Penny entered the season as a potential Pro Bowl candidate, but he spent the year as the Eagles’ fourth running back and was a healthy scratch in all but three games.

Eagles had two players land in the top 12 of an ESPN ranking of the 100 best NFL draft picks

The Philadelphia Eagles had two players make an ESPN ranking of the 100 best picks during the 2024 NFL draft

The picks are in, and NFL experts were extremely high on the Eagles’ draft class, appraising good value with many of the picks they made – Cooper DeJean, Quinyon Mitchell, and Jeremiah Trotter Jr., among others.

Trevor Keegan will challenge Tyler Steen for the right guard spot, while Jalyx Hunter could develop into a pass-rush dynamo on select downs.

ESPN’s Matt Miller gave Philadelphia an A grade for its haul. During a recent ranking of the 100 best draft picks, the Eagles had two players make the top 12.

8. Cooper DeJean, CB, Philadelphia Eagles (Pick 2-40)
My final overall ranking: No. 20

The Eagles did great work addressing needs in the secondary during this draft, but it’s the DeJean pick I liked best. DeJean can play either cornerback alignment and has potential as a great safety, too. The Eagles will probably get him reps right away at safety, where he’ll push for the starting nickel spot. His versatility is the key, though, as DeJean can be a true matchup player on a weekly basis. He also had seven career picks in college.

12. Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Philadelphia Eagles (Pick 1-22)
My final overall ranking: No. 15

We have to give Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman credit for going way outside his comfort zone and selecting a non-Georgia defensive back in the first round. Roseman had never selected a corner in the first round during his long tenure with the team but patiently waited for Mitchell and stole a great pick. Mitchell’s 4.33 speed and ball skills are badly needed in Philadelphia, where he’ll work under Darius Slay and James Bradberry for a bit before becoming a full-time starter in the near future.

Philadelphia revamped the secondary with their first two picks, and Mitchell and DeJean looked to be Day 1 starters and contributors. Both players could play outside cornerback and slot cornerback.

DeJean will also see time at safety in Vic Fangio’s versatile scheme.

Eagles sign fifth-round pick Trevor Keegan to his rookie deal

Philadelphia Eagles sign fifth-round pick Trevor Keegan to his four year rookie deal

After signing Johnny Wilson on Friday, the Eagles signed another 2024 NFL draft pick, inking Trevor Keegan to a four-year rookie deal.

Keegan was a three-year starter at left guard and captain for the National Champion Michigan Wolverines.

With Cam Jurgens moving back to center, Tyler Steen, Matt Hennessey, and Keegan are likely to compete for the right guard spot.

WATCH: NFL teases upcoming schedule release with video hyping looming matchups

NFL teases upcoming 2024 schedule release with a hype video

We’re about 7-14 days away from the 2024 NFL schedule reveal, and the league is helping build the hype by releasing a video teasing the looming matchups.

The Bengals, Ravens, and Rams highlight the Eagles’ 2024 opponents list, and we already know that Philadelphia will open up in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers.

There’s a cycle of inter-conference faceoffs; each NFC division rotates through each AFC division every four seasons and the other NFC divisions every three seasons.

In addition, where a team finishes within their division dictates a same-finish matchup with one team from the opposite conference and whichever divisions aren’t in the rotation for that season.

Philadelphia previously had one of the more difficult schedules over the past two years, but 2024 will see the Eagles among the top ten easiest schedules based on win-loss percentages from last year.
