12 under-the-radar free agents for the Bills to target on offense

The NFL’s free agency period is slated to open on March 18 and the Buffalo Bills could be in business. The Bills signed cornerback Josh Norman last week, getting a head start on things.

WR Devin Funchess

Plain and simple: The Bills-Panthers connection is loud here.

Funchess was on the Colts last season, but he is a former second-round pick of the Panthers from 2015, when Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane still worked in Carolina.

But Funchess has a decent amount of red flags. He basically missed the entire 2019 season. The 25-year-old had three receptions for 32 yards in Indy’s season opener before suffering a season-ending clavicle injury. Funchess also only had one solid season, in 2017, with 63 catches, 840 yards and eight touchdowns. Every other year he’s left a little more to be desired. But what will be very appealing to the Bills, along with their familiarity with Funchess, is his 6-foot-4 frame. Size the Bills could use.
