Top high schoolers who may reclassify, eventually enter 2021 NBA Draft

Many believe the NBA Draft will feature a stronger prospect pool in 2021 than what the 2020 class will offer. But it may get even deeper.

WILLIAM JEFFRESS

Wing, 6-foot-6, McDowell (Pennsylvania)

Background: Jeffress scored 9.6 points for his AAU squad TeamDurant on the NIKE EYBL circuit in 2019. They finished tied for the best record in their division during the season. His high school team currently ranks No. 8 overall in the state, per MaxPreps. The wing played for Team USA in the U16 Americas Championships last year, winning gold on an undefeated squad.

NCAA: He holds offers from Power 5 programs like Pitt and Penn State as well as prestigious academic schools including Stanford, Harvard, Princeton and Yale. The high school junior has a 4.0 GPA with dual enrollment in high school and college-level courses, according to Pittsburgh Sports Now. His father also recently told the publication that while Jeffress is academically qualified to graduate now, “nothing is official” until they find the right fit. However, he added that he is confident that they will find the right fit after their visits in spring.
