The top 10 in-state recruits and where Texas stands with them

Tom Herman and UT have made in-state recruiting a priority. Here are the top 10 in-state recruits and where Texas stands with each of them:

No. 5 – Savion Byrd

Hometown: Duncanville

Position: Tackle

Commitment: None

Analysis: Another offensive lineman the Longhorns are seemingly going to miss out on is Savion Byrd. The tackle is going to be staying in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and play for SMU. If/when he does commit, he will be the best recruit the Mustangs have ever had since 247Sports began tracking in 2000. Dual-threat quarterback Preston Stone and Byrd will be the future of the SMU offense.
