Swearinger was supposed to be a solid addition to the secondary, having rejoined the team at the end of 2018. He had been playing at a borderline Pro Bowl level while he was with the Redskins. He was awful with the Cardinals and was cut before the first month of the season was over, leaving two rookies to start at safety. Swearinger and Budda Baker were supposed to be a fearsome, physical safety duo.
