The football season has arrived at every level. NFL teams turned in their initial 53-man rosters yesterday, most college teams are kicking off on Saturday, and the high school season is already well underway.

Recruiting has no offseason, though – that’s a competition that continues 365 days a year, designated days off or not – and the football season is no exception. One of many high-end prospects who will be making a round of official visits to major college football programs this coming season is Charles Henderson (Ala.) Edge Zion Grady.

(USA TODAY Network)

According to Adam Gorney at Rivals, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Georgia are among the major programs that Grady will be visiting during the season.

“Tennessee made a big impression on Grady over the summer and now he’s headed back to Knoxville in October… has other important trips as well starting at Georgia Tech on Friday night. He then goes to Alabama for the big Texas tilt the next day. The following weekend, Grady will be at Georgia when it hosts South Carolina.”

Grady (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) ranks No. 1 at the edge position going by the composite rankings, as well as No. 4 overall in Alabama and No. 19 nationally in the class of 2025.

According to On3’s prediction model, this particular recruiting race is wide open. Auburn is a slight favorite for his commitment at 36.2%, followed by Alabama (31.7%), Florida State (11.2%) and Tennessee (9.3%).

No. 1 EDGE in 2025 class puts Ducks among top schools

The Ducks made the cut for 5-star Zion Grady, the No. 1 EDGE in the 2025 class.

The Oregon Ducks are looking to get a strong start on the 2025 recruiting class by adding one of the best defenders in the nation.

Over the weekend, 5-star edge-rusher Zion Grady announced his top schools, including the Ducks in the mix alongside Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, USC, and several others.

Grady, an Alabama native, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 EDGE in 2025, and the No. 7 overall player. He received an offer from Oregon back in May of 2023, but has not yet taken a visit out to Eugene.

The Ducks were in line to land 5-star Elijah Rushing, the No. 1 EDGE in the 2024 class, but he wound up committing to the Arizona Wildcats instead. It’s clear that head coach Dan Lanning and his staff have been good at recruiting edge rushers, but we will hope they land the plane with this one.

Michigan football makes top group for 2025 five-star EDGE in SEC territory

He’s the top-rated edge rusher in the country in his recruiting cycle. #GoBlue

As the Wolverines work to close out the 2024 class over the course of the next five months, the maize and blue also have their sights focused on 2025.

With two commitments already in elite cornerback Chris Ewald and rising star, linebacker Mantrez Walker — both of whom are from the heart of SEC country in Florida and Georgia, respectively — Michigan football is hoping to secure more elite talent from the south in 2025.

Well, the Wolverines are in good position for one of the top prospects in the future recruiting cycle. The top edge rusher in the country in 2025, Troy (Ala.) Charles Henderson five-star Zion Grady, dropped his top 10 on Sunday, and Michigan football made the cut.

Of course, Michigan football will face stiff, stiff competition with Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Texas, Florida State, Tennessee, Oregon, Louisville, and USC all making the cut, as well.

The 247Sports Composite has Grady listed as the No. 16 prospect in the country, regardless of position.
