Sooners inside the top 6 for 2025 four-star TE Da’Saahn Brame

Oklahoma was included alongside Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee for 2025 four-star tight end prospect Da’Saahn Brame.

The Oklahoma Sooners are hoping to go back-to-back recruiting classes with a blue-chip tight end after depth and production became an issue in 2023.

The Sooners have been heavily involved in the recruitment of four-star prospect [autotag]Nate Roberts[/autotag], but are also in the mix for another four-star prospect from the region, Kansas native [autotag]Da’Saahn Brame[/autotag].

Brame is considered the No. 3 tight end in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] and hails from Derby, Kansas. On Wednesday, he dropped his top six schools at this point in his recruitment, and the Sooners were included. Oklahoma is joined by Oregon, Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU. It’s a star-studded group of programs that have been recruiting really well in recent years but the Sooners are no stranger to big-time recruiting battles.

At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Brame has a fantastic frame to build upon at the collegiate level and he knows how to use his size to make plays in the passing game. He regularly displays incredible athleticism, showing off an ability to get above the rim to high point the football, but also has really good lateral agility to work out routes and make players miss after the catch. His straight-line speed also jumps off the tape.

It’s easy to see why he’s caught the eye of 32 Power Four programs across the country.

Sooners DL target Landon Rink sets commitment date, names top 3

The Oklahoma Sooners are battling with Texas A&M and Ohio State for 2025 four-star defensive lineman Landon Rink, who set his commitment date for April 3.

The Oklahoma Sooners had a historic [autotag]2024 recruiting class[/autotag] and are hoping to add to that in their pursuit of 2025 defensive lineman [autotag]Landon Rink[/autotag].

Rink is a four-star prospect out of Cypress, Texas and is considered a top 15 defensive lineman by Rivals and ESPN. He holds offers from 35 Power Four programs across the country, including nine of the 16 SEC schools.

Rink told On3’s Chad Simmons that his top three schools are Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, and he plans to make his decision next week on April 3.

Link told On3, “I like Coach [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag]’ and Coach Bates’ plan for me and what they want to do with me when I’m there. Also, I like the relationship I have with them.”

The Sooners currently have just one defensive lineman committed in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], Lee Summit North’s [autotag]Ka’Mori Moore[/autotag]. But they could earn another pledge as Kole Briehler dropped his top three Wednesday morning including the Sooners.

The biggest challenge comes from local recruiting power, Texas A&M. Link’s hometown of Cypress is just over an hour away from College Station. If the Sooners are going to earn his commitment, they’ll have to go deep into the heart of Texas to do it.

2025 OL target Antoni Ogumoro sets commitment date, top 8

The Oklahoma Sooners were included in the top 8 for 2025 OL Antoni Ogumoro out of Elgin, Okla. The Sooners join Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, NC State, Houston, and North Carolina.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a fantastic start in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] with less than a year until next February’s national signing day. Offensive line recruiting has a chance to be as star-studded and stacked as defensive line recruiting was for 2024.

A name that popped up recently for the Oklahoma Sooners is Elgin, Okla. native [autotag]Antoni Ogumoro[/autotag].

Since the start of the new year, Ogumoro has seen his recruitment take off, receiving eight Power Four offers, including the Oklahoma Sooners. Not long after receiving his offer from OU, Parker Thune of OUInsider submitted a Rivals Futurecast favoring the Sooners in his recruitment. But with official visits still on the horizon, this could be anybody’s recruitment.

Ogumoro shared via X that he’ll make his commitment on May 21, 2024. Currently, he has a top eight of Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, NC State, Houston, and North Carolina.

Ogumoro is a raw, but very athletic offensive line prospect. He moves incredibly well for his size, starring on the hardwood for Elgin High School as well. But despite his inexperience, he’s taken well to offensive line, showing off the punishing physicality needed to make an impact at the Power Four level.

Oklahoma makes final three for 2025 DT Kole Briehler; set to host official visit June 21

Three-star DT Kole Briehler announced his final three and Oklahoma is set for a battle with Ohio State and Stanford for his commitment.

Oklahoma is rounding the final turn and is gearing up for the home stretch in the race for one of their defensive line targets in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag].

On Wednesday morning, three-star defensive tackle [autotag]Kole Briehler[/autotag] offered an update about his recruitment process. He posted a graphic on social media highlighting the final three schools in his recruitment process.

Oklahoma, Stanford, and Ohio State remain firmly in the mix, according to Briehler’s post.

Briehler also listed dates for his official visits with each choice as well. Stanford, soon to be an ACC member in 2024, will get the first official visit on June 1. A couple of weeks later, Ohio State will host Briehler. Recently, Briehler visited the Buckeyes. Last but certainly not least, the Sooners will host him on June 21 and have the final official visit before what could be a summer commitment.

Briehler is 6-foot-3 and has incredible strength. Oklahoma offered him back in November, and they have remained a steady candidate since then. Out of the Hun School, the talented defensive line prospect hails from the same program that produced 2023 offensive line signee [autotag]Logan Howland[/autotag].

No one knows how this may go, and no predictions have been submitted yet, but this recruitment will last through the summer. [autotag]Todd Bates[/autotag] is the primary guy for Oklahoma here, and he has a good track record for securing defensive linemen from the East Coast.

Will he prevail again? We’ll find out.

Potential Huge Recruiting News for Notre Dame Regarding Ohio State Commitment

Flip city?

Notre Dame made an offer to wide receiver Jayvan Boggs at the end of last month despite the talented 2025 prospect already being committed to Ohio State.

Well, might good news be headed Notre Dame’s way in flipping the prospect?

Boggs announced he was no longer committed to Ohio State on Tuesday evening.  He had been a Buckeyes commitment since October.

Boggs is ranked as the 189th player nationally in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports composite ranking.  He’s listed at 6-0, 188-pounds and hauled in 93 receptions for 1,504 yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior.

This is certainly a name to keep a look out for if you’re a Notre Dame fan.

Sooners an early SEC winner in the 2025 recruiting class

The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the early winners in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Brent Venables and his coaching staff can recruit. They’ve put together top 10 classes in each of their first national signing days in Norman. That includes the 2022 class, when they only had a couple of months to recover the class after Lincoln Riley left.

And they’re already off to a fantastic start to the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. According to College Sports Wire, the Oklahoma Sooners are one of the early winners out of the SEC in the 2025 cycle.

New to the SEC, Oklahoma currently holds nine commitments in their 2025 recruiting class to rank No. 6 in the nation, as well as second in the conference. Headlining that group is a trio of Top 200 prospects [autotag]Elijah Thomas[/autotag], [autotag]Ryan Fodje[/autotag], and [autotag]Kevin Sperry[/autotag], the first of which is one of the top players in the state of Oklahoma. – Mett Melton, College Sports Wire

Sperry made noise when he jumped the 2024 recruiting class with his March 2023 commitment. He’s been locked in since and helping Oklahoma recruit. The four-star prospect is a talented passer who could ascend to five-star status by the end of the cycle.

Wide receiver is a strength of this recruiting cycle. Emmett Jones has commitments from talented four-star prospects Elijah Thomas and  [autotag]Trynae Washington[/autotag], and three-star receiver [autotag]Gracen Harris[/autotag]. It’s a dynamic group with big-time playmaking ability. As Jones has shown us in his time with the Sooners, he’ll continue to recruit to add talent to the wide receiver group.

The Sooners 2025 recruiting class got a big boost from the addition of Ryan Fodje. They were ahead of the curve on Fodje, who’s gone from being largely unknown in recruiting circles to a top-100 prospect in the cycle. Fodje joins [autotag]Owen Hollenbeck[/autotag], who a lot of people believe will be a standout interior offensive lineman.

And they’re still in the mix for several five-star offensive tackles. Oklahoma’s been projected to land [autotag]Ty Haywood[/autotag], and many feel they’re in a good position for [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag]. They also have moved the needle for [autotag]Antoni Omugoro[/autotag], an athletic offensive line prospect from Elk City.

Offensive line could end up having the star power that the defensive line had for the 2024 class.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Sooners are on track to land their fourth five-star prospect since Venables’ arrival if the projections for five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag] hold up.

With less than a year to go in the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Sooners have positioned themselves to have another strong group of prospects joining the program next year.

Oklahoma makes top seven for 4-star safety from Arkansas

The Sooners are one step closer from landing a talented safety in their 2025 recruiting class.

The Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff is in the midst of rounding out their [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. They currently have nine players pledged to join the Sooners next year.

[autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] has already said this would be the smallest recruiting class he’s had at Oklahoma during his tenure. That is because they’ve reached the point of not having to process as many people out of the program as they did when they first arrived.

The Sooners received some good news on the recruiting trail on Wednesday as they found out they were in the top seven for four-star safety from Arkansas, Marcus Wimberly.

The Sooners join some stellar programs like the Oregon Ducks and the Michigan Wolverines. They’ll also have to contend with the home-state Arkansas Razorbacks. That is never an easy battle to win because some players don’t want to leave home. They’d much rather play in front of their friends and family.

Ole Miss, Wisconsin, and Memphis round out the top seven.

It would no doubt be a big win if Oklahoma is able to pull it off. Wimberly is ranked as the No. 9 safety in the country by Rivals.

The 6-foot-1 and 183-pound safety is currently an Oklahoma lean per On3’s recruiting predictor machine. Michigan is their biggest competition, according to the predictor.

There is still a long way to go before signing day but Oklahoma has put themselves in a really good spot to land his commitment.

UNC WBB commit named Virginia HS POTY

Lanie Grant is amongst Virginia’s best high school basketball players. She’s committed to UNC for college hoops – when will she arrive?

The UNC women’s basketball team is getting ready for March Madness, as it will match up against Michigan State on Friday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m.

North Carolina (19-12), seeded eighth in the Albany 1 Region, most recently lost to Miami in its first ACC Tournament game. The Tar Heels had a very up-and-down regular season – ranked wins over Syracuse, NC State and Louisville, but bad losses to Boston College and Virginia.

At one point, UNC was tied for first in the ACC. The Tar Heels will try to show the first-place version themselves starting Friday, looking to advance further than last year’s Round of 32.

Despite all the focus being on March Madness right now, it’s never too early to start looking ahead.

For North Carolina, particularly in two years, the future looks very bright.

Lanie Grant, a junior at James River High School who’s committed to play college ball at UNC, was recently named the 2023-24 Gatorade Virginia Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Grant played at an All-Star level this past year for James River, leading it to the VHSL Class 5 State Championship game by averaging 28.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Current UNC stars Deja Kelly and Alyssa Ustby will exhaust their college eligibility at the end of next season, so the arrival of Grant will be well-timed.

Oklahoma earns another projection for 4-star RB Tory Blaylock

Four-star running back Tory Blaylock crystal balled to Oklahoma for second time.

Oklahoma seems to be getting closer and closer to its first running back commitment for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. Four-star running back [autotag]Tory Blaylock[/autotag] was predicted to land with the Sooners on Tuesday morning by 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Mike Roach.

The crystal ball is the second for the Sooners to land the consensus four-star running back from Humble, TX. The first came from Sooners Illustrated’s Collin Kennedy in January.

Blaylock is a talented runner who can be an every-down back in college. He can hit the home run and run with power and balance between the tackles. He has shown soft hands when catching the ball out of the backfield.

Notably, he won the honor of running back MVP this past weekend at the UA Next showcase in Houston. Blaylock has an official visit set for June 21-23.

This latest crystal ball is the third prediction overall for Blaylock to land with Oklahoma. While there’s no guarantee he will commit before then, the Sooners and fans should feel reasonably good about their chances.

Outside of the Sooners,  Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, Oregon, and Tennessee make up his top schools.
