Lights. Camera. (Commercial break.) Action!

A few trailers were released on Super Bowl Sunday, as studios tempted movie-lovers with the next chapter of blockbuster franchises while also making room for streaming services and what’s ahead on those popular platforms.
.
But what trailer gained the most momentum?

According to AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive, here are the top 3 that have really extended beyond the 15 minutes of fame:

3. Marvel Studios: “Big Game”

Marvel Studios took to the Big Game stage and unveiled a lineup of new releases—The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki—that are coming soon to Disney+. The current view total is third-highest among all trailers on AdBlitz

2. Amazon Prime Video: “Hunters”

It’s another All-American barbecue—until it’s not. Amazon Prime Video released a spot for “Hunters” during the Super Bowl, and the thrilling minute-plus trailer that shows a very eerie Al Pacino has made its way to the second-highest view count. How many have watched so far? Check out the answer here.

1. Universal Studios: “F9”

The Fast Saga continues, and people are clearly excited. The extended version of the Super Bowl trailer for F9 has been released, and it’s tops in that category on AdBlitz.

And the views? It does the franchise proud, so we gave it a title:

A few companies took the wide-reaching opportunity on Super Bowl Sunday to inspire and impact the audience who were tuning in to watch the Big Game. Some were calls to action, such as this Michelob ULTRA Pre Gold spot, while a few delivered messages to an NFL audience that is growing to almost half of the entire total: women.

According to AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive, these are the top 5 highest-viewed inspirational ads from Super Bowl Sunday.

1. Secret Deodorant: “The Secret Kicker”

This pregame spot by Secret Deodorant has been getting a lot of attention, and rightfully so. The creative delivery in the ad’s messaging—n inspirational focus that champions for women’s equality—makes it easy to understand why the views have soared.

Check out the current count here.

2. Microsoft: “Be The One”

Microsoft’s ad was an empowering 60 seconds narrated and featuring the first-ever woman to coach in a Super Bowl: San Francisco 49ers assistant coach, Katie Sowers. The spot took ninth in the Ad Meter rankings and is continuing to turn the view counter upward.

3. Budweiser: “Typical American”

The King of Beers gave the Dalmatian and Clydesdales a year off, and instead unveiled a concept that showcased some (incredible) “Typical Americans.” Budweiser’s tip of the cap to the best of America has been well received, too. The spot landed just outside the top 10 in the Ad Meter rankings while continuing to attract an audience on YouTube.

4. NFL: “NEXT 100”

The NFL’s spot this year came with a surprising reveal: The ending was shot in realtime, with the kick return culminating on the field in Miami. The ad took sixth on Ad Meter, and the inspiring message to the game’s future stars is still going strong.

5. Olay: “Make Space For Women”

The Olay ad featured an all-woman cast with a compelling call to action, and the launch that included Busy Philipps and Lilly Singh plus astronaut Nicole Stott has continued to skyrocket.

What’s a Super Bowl without snacks?

More so, what’s a Super Bowl without a few memorable snack commercials?

From the salty to the sweet, the cheesy goodness and the chocolate-covered delights, let’s head into Ad Meter’s pantry and take a look at the five highest-rated snack commercials from this year’s rankings.

Plus, we’ll find out what honors these spots are taking over at AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive.

Ready? It’s snack time!

1. Doritos: “The Cool Ranch,” 6.62

The top snack spot this year goes to Doritos “The Cool Ranch,” starring Sam Elliott and Lil Nas X. It’s part showdown, part dance-off, and one of the funniest ads of Super Bowl LIV. See where it ranks in views for Comedy ads on AdBlitz here.

2. Cheetos: “Can’t Touch This,” 6.07

Cheetos rounded out the top 10 in this year’s Ad Meter, with its spot “Can’t Touch This.” The commercial has struck a chord (dance move?) with fans, thanks to an early-90s classic by MC Hammer. Like the Doritos commercial, Cheetos is also continuing to attract more than a few curious eyes—check out the impressive count on AdBlitz!

3. Reeses: “Rock,” 5.45

The third highest-rated snack commercial was Reeses’ spot, “Rock.” A montage of coworkers’ comically accurate answers to one employee’s questions regarding the Reeses Take 5, the spot takes a go at literal comedy and doesn’t fail to deliver. And now, the extended cut on released on YouTube has been climbing up the ranks quickly!

4. Planters: “Tribute,” 5.36

Not so fast, Wesley Snipes! Although a lot of discussion surrounded this spot—and the teaser—the funeral for Mr. Peanut turned out to be a feel-good moment that introduced viewers (and the gathered mourners, such as Kool-Aid Man) to Baby Nut.

It’s done well on AdBlitz, too. The spot is ranked in the top 5 highest-rated sentimental ads this year—and when you see the number of views, it makes sense, too.)

5. Snickers: “#FixTheWorld,” 5.35

Rounding out the top 5 highest-rated snack commercials is Snickers’ “#FixTheWorld.” They have also released an extended cut of the Super Bowl ad—this version, which is picking up steam on YouTube, has a few more topical annoyances added to the (on-the-nose) song that culminates with earth getting fed a giant Snickers.

We’re not crying, you’re crying! (And you’re definitely not alone.)

Current AdBlitz tally: 15,083,289 views

4. Doritos: “The Cool Ranch”

Super Bowl Sunday’s matchup between the Chiefs and 49ers wasn’t the only showdown in town, thanks to a catchy Doritos spot featuring Sam Elliott and Lil Nas X. And people are still tuning in to watch this one, so…draw?

Current AdBlitz tally: 10,714,367 views

Current AdBlitz tally: 7,326,404 views

The Super Bowl might be over, but the commercial rush is still going strong. While USA Today’s 32nd Ad Meter is in the books, with Jeep’s “Groundhog Day” taking the top honors this year, there are more than a handful of eye-catching ads that played during the breaks and halftime that have really started to pick up views over at AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive.

Here are a few surprises that are starting to gain traction:

Quibi: “Bank Heist”

Although it didn’t rate so well on Ad Meter, the concept this spot for Quibi, a Los Angeles-based short-form mobile video platform company, has caught the attention of more than a few people. (Way more than a few people, to be exact.)

Check out the AdBlitz tally here!

OLAY: “Make Space for Women”

The all-women cast in this fun spot—with an empowering message—has Olay moving up the ranks. The spot finished 36th in the Ad Meter rankings, but take a look at the number of people who have joined Busy Philipps, Lilly Singh and astronaut Nicole Stott on the journey!

Cheetos: “Can’t Touch This”

Cheetos’ spot “Can’t Touch This” is shuffling quickly up the view count on AdBlitz, with the No. 10 Ad Meter spot really hitting a nostalgic stride—much like the star of the ad!

Super Bowl Sunday is here, and already a lot of eyes are on the big commercials we’ll see during tonight’s game. Two spots, in particular, are really climbing up the view count, totaling over 30 Million!

As Ad Meter counts down to kickoff time, let’s check in with AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive, and see what two are rushing to the top.

Amazon: “Before Alexa”

Amazon’s “Before Alexa” ad has already been on people’s radar this week thanks to a quirky teaser that shows Ellen and Portia battling over the room temperature. Now, the full spot is out and people are heading over to YouTube to watch it—a lot of people.

AdBlitz Tally: 39,886,492 views (and counting…)

Hyundai: “Smaht Pahk”

Who doesn’t love a comical nod to the Boston accent? (Apparently, not many.) The Hyundai spot featuring Chris Evans, John Krasinski, Rachel Dratch, and David “Big Papi” Ortiz is picking up momentum and right behind Amazon’s view count.

AdBlitz Tally: 30,603,445 views (so FAH…)

Super Bowl commercial rush with YouTube’s AdBlitz: What’s trending in the commercial world as SB LIV nears

Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner, and the list of commercials that will star on the biggest stage is growing by the minute. It’s a rush to Miami—which is the perfect time to see what’s trending on AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive.

Not all the Super Bowl spots that make the largest impact happen during the game

One of this year’s top pre-Super Bowl hits, Secret Deodorant is making a big splash (or kick, in the case) with its ‘The Secret Kicker’ spot. But it won’t be turning heads during the commercial breaks in the game. Instead, the spot will air during the FOX Super Bowl Pregame Show. The 60-second ad stars U.S. soccer players Carli Lloyd and Crystal Dunn, and delivers a powerful message about equal opportunity for women while “kicking inequality.”

AdBlitz Tally: Over 13 million views

Alexa, Portia, and Ellen have people’s attention

Amazon has had success with its creative spots that feature Alexa, with last year’s “Not Everything Makes the Cut,” starring Forrest Whitaker and Harrison Ford taking second place in the Ad Meter rankings. And this year looks like the familiar cloud-based voice service might again be a top contender. The teaser with Portia, Ellen, and a very patient Alexa teases at more than what the room temperature will ultimately be.

AdBlitz Tally: 5.3-plus million views

There’s no such thing as a bad Sam Elliott monologue

The longtime actor lends his iconic voice and presence in the Doritos teaser aptly titled “Monologue,” a 60-second narration that makes the audience quickly realize that Sam Elliott’s reciting of Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ is quite the ear treasure. And now, the question remains: what’s the thumping, Sam?

AdBlitz Tally: Almost 7.2 million views

The wait was worth it

Porsche is back in the Super Bowl Sunday ad space for the first tie since 1997—the year Pepsi took top spot in the Ad Meter rankings with an ode to the Village People—and the buzz generated from the company’s 2020 spot has been as electric as the star of the show: the fully-electric powered Taycan. Titled “The Heist,” the company shows off the new model while paying homage to the 70-plus year history that is Porsche automotive creation.

AdBlitz Tally: Nearly 7.4 million views

Don’t forget the trailers

The Big Game isn’t just about beers, cars, candy, and soft drinks—it’s also the opportune time for Hollywood to showcase some of the things audiences will tune into once football season is over. One of the most viewed trailers so far has been the Amazon original series, “Hunters,” starring Al Pacino.

AdBlitz Tally: Over 1.2 million views

Ad Meter rewind: 5 funniest spots of 2019

Super Bowl Sunday will be here before you know it, which means all the Super Bowl commercials are on the way, too. The good, the bad, the funny, the unexpected, and everything in between and beyond!

As USA Today gets ready for the 32nd AD Meter competition—the most prominent tracker of public opinion on Super Bowl ads—we wanted to get back into the Super Bowl commercial energy flow! And what better to way to get ready for this year’s spots than by looking back at some of the previous best.

First up: The 5 Funniest of 2019!

(Plenty more ahead, too. Plus, when you’re finished with this nostalgic recharge, head over to AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive, for some more Super Bowl Commercial bliss!)

1. NFL, “The 100-Year Game”

The NFL got a head start on the league’s 100th anniversary with a simple ‘black tie” ceremony that featured some the past and present greats. Things turned quickly, though, when Marshawn Lynch caused a frenzy-inducing fumble!

2. Amazon Alexa, “Not Everything Makes the Cut”

Forrest Whitaker has issues listening to a podcast that’s playing on his electric toothbrush. Harrison Ford isn’t happy with his dog’s purchasing habits (from the ease of its collar). And, is it a hot tub, or a fountain in Vegas? Amazon’s 2019 Alexa ad showed that some location ideas for the virtual assistant aren’t all winners—while also providing one of the highest-rated spots of the year!

3. TurboTax, “RoboChild” ( AdBlitz favorite!)

A.I. went awry in TurboTax’s 2019 Super Bowl commercial, when the online company’s introduction of its ‘live” version, with real-life CPAs on demand, took an artificial twist and turned into comedic reality. The spot was quite a hit on YouTube’s AdBlitz, too (you check it out here).

4. Hyundai, “The Elevator”

Going down? It was one of Ad Meter’s overall best in 2019, and one of the funniest! Jason Bateman is an elevator liftman, taking people to some less-than-thrilling stops. It was a hilarious ride down, though, all the way to the bottom floor: car sales.

5. bubly, “Michael Bublé vs bubly”

It was 30 seconds of bubbly (or is that Bublé?) fun in this 2019 spot for the sparkling water company, bubly!
