Aaron Judge’s 60th home run caused this insane dogpile among fans in the stands at Yankees stadium

Aaron Judge’s 60th home run is great, but man, this is dangerous

Anytime you can grab a homerun ball from Aaron Judge you absolutely should. The dude is probably going to be the AL’s MVP at the end of the season.

But, man. The ball for his 60th home run? That might be one that I, personally, would pass on.

Not because the ball isn’t special — it absolutely is. He’s in a class with absolute legends of the game right now. Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and so many more.

But look, man. When y’all see the dogpile that built up in the stands for the ball, you’ll understand exactly why this one seemed like it should’ve been avoided at all costs.

Look at this thing.

That’s dangerous, y’all! There are at least a dozen people in there trying to get to that ball. That’s pretty ridiculous. It doesn’t seem like anyone got hurt, which is great. But man. The fight for that ball went way over the top.

And on top of that, the guys who ended up with the ball didn’t even keep it. They gave it back to Judge, free of charge.

That’s extremely kind of them, of course. And you absolutely love to see extremely kind things. But after getting it out of that dogpile? Nah, man. At least get a dinner or something off of Judge. Sheesh.

Anyway, all is well that ends well. The Yankees have 15 games left in the season over these next few weeks. We’ll probably see a few more of these dogpiles along the way.

Be safe out there, y’all. Be safe.

Traducción: AARON JUDGE CONECTA SU SEGUNDO HOMERUN DE LA NOCHE Y SU NÚMERO **CINCUENTA Y SIETE** DE LA TEMPORADA.

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The New York Yankees (61-23) and Boston Red Sox (45-39) continue a 4-game AL East rivalry series at Fenway Park. Saturday’s game is scheduled for a first pitch at 7:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Yankees vs. Red Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: New York leads 4-1.

The Yanks have found their groove on offense after losing it for a week or so. From June 28-July 5, New York registered a pedestrian .674 OPS. Over the last 3 nights, the Bronx Bombers have been just that. They’ve tallied 34 runs on the strength of a 1.167 OPS.

The Red Sox went a robust 28-9 from May 18-June 26 but are just 3-8 in their last 11 games. Boston totes a 4-game losing streak into Saturday’s Fenway affair under the lights.

Yankees at Red Sox projected starters

LHP Jordan Montgomery vs. RHP Kutter Crawford

Montgomery (3-2, 3.19 ERA) owns a 1.03 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9 and 7.2 K/9 through 90 1/3 IP across 16 starts.

  • Clocked a 2.16 ERA across 3 Fenway starts a year ago.
  • Struggled in his last 2 starts in June but allowed just 1 run in 5 IP in his last start (July 3 at Cleveland).

Crawford (2-2, 5.04 ERA) has made 2 starts and 9 relief appearances. He has a 1.48 WHIP, 4.7 BB/9 and 11.5 K/9 through 25 IP.

  • Pitched a combined 2 IP in relief against New York April 8 and April 10: allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits.
  • Went 5 1/3 scoreless relief innings vs. Tampa Bay Monday: struck out 8 against 1 BB and allowed just 2 hits.

Yankees at Red Sox picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 5, Red Sox 4

Money line

The Yankees are 22-8 over its last 30 games. Boston is 14-6 against LHP, but the Yankees are too deep to fade. NYY has the ‘pen to win close ones as evidenced by the 18-7 record in 1-run games. It’s risky, but we could see taking RED SOX FIRST 5 INNINGS (+155) with their success against lefties. There just isn’t enough confidence in them winning it to take the ML.

Run line/Against the spread

Boston was dialed in Friday against LHP Nestor Cortes, and Montgomery may not be well served by being a second lefty hurler to face the Sox in as many days.

BACK BOSTON +1.5 (-117).

Over/Under

This series has a systemic lean on the Over — which is 2-0 the last 2 nights — but the tag here leaves much to be desired, and a cooler, breeze-in night at Fenway with key bullpen arms available mixes in too much Under risk.

STEER CLEAR.

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The New York Yankees (60-23) and Boston Red Sox (45-38) continue a 4-game AL East rivalry series at Fenway Park. Friday’s game is ticketed for a 7:10 p.m. ET first pitch. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Yankees vs. Red Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: New York leads 3-1.

The Yankees took Thursday’s game 6-5. The Yanks are rounding out a road trip which opened with stops in Houston, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. New York owns an MLB-best .650 winning percentage away from home.

The Red Sox went a sparkling 28-9 from May 18-June 26, but are just 3-7 in their last 10 games. Over the 10 games, Boston’s power has been down a bit (.372 slugging percentage), but the Red Sox have also hit just .174 (16-of-92) with runners in scoring position over that stretch.

Yankees at Red Sox projected starters

LHP Nestor Cortes vs. RHP Connor Seabold

Cortes (7-3, 2.44 ERA) has a 0.95 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 9.6 K/9 through 85 IP in 15 starts.

  • Has had a few stumbles of late and owns a 4.68 ERA in his last 5 starts.
  • Went 6 innings in his last start Saturday at Cleveland, his most in a single game since June 2.

Seabold is a rookie right-hander tabbed for his 3rd start of the season. He has a 2.08 WHIP, 3.1 BB/9 and 11.4 K/9 in 8 2/3 IP.

  • Rocked in his first MLB start in 2022 (7 R, 9 H in 4 2/3 IP June 27 at Toronto), but rallied with a fair effort at Wrigley Field Sunday (4 IP, 6 H, 1 R vs. Cubs).
  • Friday’s game will mark his Fenway debut.
  • Has pitched 51 2/3 IP at Triple-A this season: 2.09 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, with 14 BB and 51K.

Yankees at Red Sox picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 6, Red Sox 5

Money line

Seabold is stepping in for RHP Michael Wacha, who is out with arm trouble. But the key injuries may be Yankees OF Aaron Judge (lower body) and 1B Anthony Rizzo (back), who are both listed as questionable for Friday.

The Red Sox are a lean and an actionable play at +130 or better. MOVE ALONG otherwise.

Run line/Against the spread

With some fade lean against Cortes and the Yankee bullpen and an acknowledgement that Seabold has some impressive, bat-missing stuff, BACK BOSTON +1.5 (-130).

Over/Under

The biggest lean in any quadrant (both clubs’ batting, pitching/defense) is a fade of the Yanks’ run prevention. On a warm night with a batter’s breeze at Fenway Park (Cortes is a fly-ball hurler and, by early indications, Seabold is too), BACK THE OVER 9.5 (-115).

Y vergonzoso.
