Aaron Judge gave a brutally honest response to Yankees fans booing him after 4-strikeout afternoon

Aaron Judge understands why people were booing at him on Saturday.

New York Yankees superstar outfielder is one of the best players of his generation. However, he’s not immune to the boo birds.

After he struck out four times during his team’s 2-0 home loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, Judge gave a brutally honest assessment of his lackluster day at-bat when talking about the boos from Yankees fans with reporters.

“I’ve heard worse, and I’d probably do the same thing in their situation,” Judge said after the loss.

Well, if that’s not as forthright an assessment from Judge about the jeers from Yankees fans, we’re not sure what is.

Judge seems very understanding of the ire from the New York crowd, as nobody expects an elite batter like him to strike out four times during a game.

However, Judge is still human, and we’re sure he’s going to find his momentum when he goes to the plate sooner than later.

Aaron Judge got called out an extremely low strike 3 and was rightfully unhappy

This was definitely not a strike.

When you’re Aaron Judge and you’re all of 6-foot-7, you know when there’s a ball thrown that’s under your knees.

That was the case on Tuesday night, when Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen threw a 94 MPH fastball that was pretty far out of the strike zone and definitely below Judge’s knees. The umpire called a third strike and Judge expressed his displeasure. The replay from the side angle clearly shows it was a ball.

This is your weekly (daily?) reminder that we could use some robot umpires to go with the human ones. Here’s the clip and some reaction:

7 athletes Drake has brought out on the It’s All A Blur tour, including LeBron and Bronny

Drake has brought out some legends like LeBron and KD.

Over the course of the past few months, during stops on his North American tour, Drake has brought out top-tier athletes with him on stage.

It has become an expected ritual during each stop of the “It’s All A Blur Tour” co-headlined by 21 Savage.

For anyone who has followed his career, however, this isn’t exactly a surprise. One of the most classic Drake bars of all time goes like this: “I swear sports and music are so synonymous ’cause we want to be them and they want to be us.”

RELATED: New Raptor Gradey Dick was so delighted Drake followed him on Instagram

These moments are probably equally cool for Drake as they are the athletes, and the fans and the concerts all seem to enjoy them as they are happening as well.

Here were some of the stars that Drake chose to accompany him on this tour.

PointsBet Sportsbook’s ridiculous scenario for Notre Dame-Ohio State

No way this happens.

Let’s begin by getting two facts out of the way. First, Shohei Ohtani is the greatest thing baseball has to offer right now and maybe ever. Second, Peacock has MLB broadcast rights but only does Sunday games. NBC gets one of those games every year and surely would be one of the regularly scheduled games.

That being the case, the chances of NBC breaking away from any Notre Dame game for baseball, particularly the game against Ohio State, are virtually nonexistent. But that’s not stopping PointsBet Sportsbook from posing a scenario that defies all logic:

I don’t care how exciting a player Ohtani is or what’s on the line for him. No broadcast network in its right mind is going to cut away from college football to cover something for another sport. Is watching it on MLB Network not enough? If people are watching college football, chances are they don’t care about anything else at the moment.

On top of that, Aaron Judge already broke the American League single-season home run record last year. There’s nothing at stake in this scenario except for Ohtani joining the 60-homer club. If this happens for Ohtani, this has to happen for all players on this precipice going forward. Somehow, I doubt that will happen because it’s not Ohtani.

Yes, there are exceptions to the rule of not cutting away from an Irish home game. The most notable example was NBC temporarily transferring the feed of the 2020 classic against Clemson to USA Network so it could broadcast Joe Biden’s victory speech for the presidential election that was called earlier that day. But an Ohtani at-bat is not on the same scale as a speech from the new soon-to-be leader of the free world.

I’m all for a nice debate on Twitter, but this is the wrong one to start. Not only does it not make any sense, but it’s insulting to everyone’s intelligence. NBC will not cut into an Irish-Buckeyes game for a sport that it barely has any rights to. Hopefully, everyone who saw this tweet figured that out quickly.

14 athletes with incredible seasons (Connor McDavid!) who egregiously weren’t named unanimous MVP

A list of superstars who dominated but weirdly didn’t get universal MVP praise.

Winning a unanimous MVP in sports is one of those eccentric, niche milestones that seemingly only truly great superstars can achieve. But with these honors usually voted on by media members — who are fans of the sport they cover first — sometimes, perspective can be lost in the shuffle.

Because to be a unanimous MVP means you were the undisputed best player in the world in your respective league or sport. No questions asked. At least, that’s what a clean-sweep vote essentially dictates.

You were a cut above, and everyone else paled compared to your brilliance. (Never mind that all of these votes are inherently subjective.)

Despite a historic 2022-2023 NHL season, Connor McDavid wasn’t a unanimous MVP. It’s mind-boggling as to why. But McDavid certainly isn’t the first major sports star to lose out on this distinction that would probably only bother Hall of Famers. There’s a laundry list of athletes who put on an all-time show for an entire year, only for some people to say their excellence actually wasn’t the best.

Across four of the major American sports leagues — the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL — here’s a look at a few stars who probably should’ve received unanimous MVP honors. Note: This list is not a ranking of egregiousness. It is in chronological order by year from top to bottom.

Aaron Judge broke open a Dodger Stadium door with an unreal catch

WOW.

We know Aaron Judge is a big man.

And we know that he’s known for more than his bat. Both of those facts came together on Saturday when he made an unreal running catch against the Los Angeles Dodgers, snagging a J.D. Martinez drive that was heading for the wall in L.A.

Then? As he slammed into the bullpen wall at Dodger Stadium, the door opened up. Judge was fine. The door? Also seemed to work. The slow motion shot of the catch, as you’ll see, shows you just how hard he hit the door, so it’s good that he was OK:

Aaron Judge had a great exchange with Teoscar Hernandez after robbing him of a home run

A genuinely wholesome interaction.

After a somewhat slow start in April (by his standards), Aaron Judge is back to looking like the player who won American League MVP last season. And Monday’s game was certainly Judge at his best.

In a 10-4 win against the Seattle Mariners, Judge hit two home runs — his third in two games — and showed that it pays to be a 6-foot-7 outfielder.

With the Yankees already up five runs in the eighth inning, Teoscar Hernandez looked to cut into the lead with a deep fly ball to right field. But Judge had other ideas. The Yankees star tracked the ball, leaped and robbed Hernandez of a home run.

Judge made that catch look way easier than it was. And after the game, Hernandez — who is in the middle of a slump — couldn’t believe that Judge really had to take away a much-needed home run. He tweeted a simple question at Judge.

But Judge paid some respect in return to Hernandez and responded with a classy tweet.

Fans also loved the exchange between the two players.

The wonderfully messy Yankees and Blue Jays saga: An overly dramatic play in 4 parts

What a bunch of drama this four-game series was!

The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays just played in the “boy, that escalated quickly” series, a set of four games that started with a non-controversy that turned into a whole back-and-forth war of words, complete with expletives thrown between dugouts.

Along the way, we got a lot of Aaron Judge side-eye, some pretty hilarious memes that resulted, and some serious Aaron Boone anger. Oh, and there was name-calling. It was a whole thing.

So before we move on (and before we end up with what I expect will be a big lip-reading video recap), let’s run through this whole thing from beginning to end:
