Wisconsin schedules visit with top-ranked 2025 offensive tackle

Four-star offensive tackle set to visit Madison in May

Jack Lange, a four-star class of 2025 offensive tackle from Missouri, is set to visit the Wisconsin Badgers football team in Madison on May 31.

The Badgers offered Lange in January. He’s the top-rated player at his position in Missouri and the 11th-best offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports.

Lange has set up four summer official visits, starting with a trip to Madison in May before heading to see Missouri, Michigan and Nebraska.

Notre Dame and Ole Miss were also included in his top six programs that he listed in February.

At the end of the day, Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell and his new offensive line coach AJ Blazek want to return to the Badgers’ identity as one of the best offensive line schools in the country. Lange would be a great addition for that goal.

Wisconsin offers one of the top offensive tackles in the class of 2025

Wisconsin offers one of the top offensive tackles in the class of 2025

Wisconsin extended an offer to class of 2025 four-star offensive tackle Jack Lange yesterday.

Lange is 247Sports’ No. 115 player in the class of 2025, No. 13 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit from his home state of Missouri.

The Badgers will contend with many of the top programs in the country to land the top tackle, as he has offers from schools including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Washington.

Notably, Lange is one of the first targets of new Wisconsin offensive line coach A.J. Blazek. Blazek had previously offered Lange when he was still at Vanderbilt.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently has four commitments and ranks within the nation’s top 20. It is a group that Luke Fickell and his staff hope can rise higher than the program’s No. 26-ranked class of 2024.

Former LSU pitcher throws 9th inning of combined no-hitter

A former LSU star got to close out a no-hitter this weekend.

The Detroit Tigers threw a combined no-hitter on Saturday, and it was a former Tiger who finished it off.

[autotag]Alex Lange[/autotag] entered a 2-0 game in the ninth and needed just 10 pitches to close it out. He struck out one and walked none with a 90% strike rate.

Lange finished it by getting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to chop one and ground out to third base.

It was Lange’s 13th save of the year, which is good for ninth in the American League.

Lange’s ERA+ sits at 114, which is a career-best. After excelling as a starter at LSU, Lange found a home in the Tigers bullpen. His K rate of 29.2% ranks 23rd among AL relievers too.

At 27, he’s a valuable piece for Detroit who they trust in high-leverage moments. Lange now has a 3.68 career ERA over 134.2 career innings.

The pitcher who started opposite of Detroit, [autotag]Kevin Gausman[/autotag], is also an LSU alumni.

Tigers closer Alex Lange dropped a funny expletive after team combined for a historic no-hitter

Alex Lange hilariously let a bad word slip on-air while he was celebrating the Tigers’ combined no-hitter.

Detroit Tigers closer Alex Lange couldn’t contain his uncensored excitement after helping his team throw a combined no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.

Lange combined for the no-hitter with his fellow Tigers pitchers Matt Manning and Jason Foley in the 2-0 home victory.

It’s only the ninth no-hitter in Detroit history and the first combined no-hitter, making the day’s achievement all the more special.

While the Tigers have had a down season with a 39-49 record as of Saturday, it’s never the wrong moment for a team to throw a combined no-hitter.

The Detroit celebration and broadcast call just showed what a cathartic moment this was for a team that could use more of this.

Lange got so excited after the big victory that he dropped an expletive on live television, which came with a very funny apology to the broadcast audience.

Some NSFW language to follow.

Can you blame Lange for being so excited?

This was a career moment for him, and sometimes, you just say what’s on your heart (even if it’s not necessarily appropriate for television).

BREAKING: LSU baseball’s Jacob Berry taken by Miami Marlins with sixth pick in 2022 MLB draft

Berry becomes the highest drafted LSU player since Alex Bregman went second overall in 2015.

After a phenomenal season at LSU, [autotag]Jacob Berry[/autotag] should be heading to the pros as he was picked with the sixth overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft on Sunday night.

He becomes the highest drafted LSU player since [autotag]Alex Bregman[/autotag] went second overall in 2015, and he’s the first Tiger to go in the first round since [autotag]Alex Lange[/autotag] went 30th overall in 2017.

Berry had a .370 batting average with 15 homers and 48 RBI last year as part of a star-filled Tigers lineup. Going into the draft, he was mocked by MLB.com to go to the Minnesota Twins at No. 8 overall, but he ultimately went two picks earlier.

The Marlins were one of the teams I thought would be a good fit for him. Berry was possibly the best hitter in all of college baseball this season, and now they can put his powerful bat in a lineup with Jazz Chisolm, Garrett Cooper, Jorge Soler, and Jesus Aguilar. He has the potential to fit perfectly into that group.

Berry was LSU’s top draft prospect, but there are several other players and a number of signees that could get picked during this week’s festivities, which are being televised on the MLB Network. Stay tuned to LSU Wire for future updates as the Tigers’ draft hopefuls wait to hear their names called.

Detriot’s Alex Lange threw a ridiculously unhittable pitch for a called strike that had fans in awe

This is easily the filthiest pitch of the MLB season so far.

Being a professional baseball player sounds like a lot of fun in theory but then you when you see what some of these pitchers can do with a baseball and it becomes easier to enjoy our boring, non-baseball playing lives.

Take what happened in the Bronx yesterday, for instance. Yankees right fielder Joey Gallo walked up to the plate to face Detroit’s Alex Lange and could only stand there in the box and wonder how in the world the reliever struck him out with a pitch that had a ridiculous amount a movement before traveling basically through the heart of the strike zone.

This couldn’t have been an enjoyable time for Gallo:

I mean, what are you supposed to do with that pitch?! It looked like a wiffle ball to me with a bunch of magic sprinkled on it

MLB fans were rightfully in awe.
