As one of the biggest weekend in college football, it shows how important this game is on the national scale. The winner will have a leg up in gaining a College Football Playoff berth, with an early season signature victory.
Find out below which teams they believe will come out victorious this weekend.
The Irish are so money and they don’t even know it.
A familiar face at Notre Dame will be ESPN’s guest picker on Saturday morning.
Former Notre Dame football player Jamie O’Hara (at least that was his role in “Rudy”), better known as actor Vince Vaughn, has been announced for the role.
Vaughn has participated in this role before, doing so before Notre Dame took on Stanford back in 2012. He of course picked the Irish that day and did so again in 2020 when doing the guest selection on a remote show during the pandemic, picking the Irish to beat Pitt which they did.
Also joining the show Saturday will be Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman as well as 1987 Heisman Trophy winner and Notre Dame legend Tim Brown.
The show begins on ESPN at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday morning.
Actor Vince Vaughn will return to star in the sequel as Peter LaFleur, the Average Joe’s gym owner who leads a ragtag dodgeball team to a national tournament to save their workout establishment from the grips of the evil Globo Gym owner White Goodman (Ben Stiller).
The original film came out in 2004 and grossed $168.4 million as a summer hit.
Deadline reports that only Vaughn and a writer (Jordan VanDina, who wrote the 2020 comedy The Binge) are attached to the project at the moment.
Plot details aren’t yet known, but Dodgeball fans can rest assured that there will be plenty of laughs (and dodgeball action) in store.
No release date is yet known, but fans can probably expect the sequel to hit the dodgeball court sometime in the next couple of years.
Just don’t expect a direct-to-ESPN 8: The Ocho release.
We’ve mentioned Big Game Boomer a few times before. Most recently, he ruffled a few feathers when he called Purdue the best college football team in the state of Indiana. Now, he’s listing what he believes is the most famous celebrity fan for every Football Bowl Subdivision School. For Notre Dame, he lists Vince Vaughn:
Excuse me while I go puke. No, really. That’s how much I don’t care for Vince Vaughn. I know he’s a huge Irish fan, and I know he was one of the players in “Rudy”, but this really makes me wish Regis Philbin still was alive.
Ever since I saw Vaughn’s pretentious character in “Old School”, I haven’t cared for anything he’s done. I can’t even bring myself to sit down and watch all of “Wedding Crashers” because that’s how strongly I feel about this. If you like him, great, but for me, Vaughn’s Irish fandom is something I wish didn’t exist.

Vince Vaughn is this year’s World Series of Poker Celebrity Master of Ceremonies. As such, the actor received royal treatment in his arrival Wednesday at the Bally’s Events Center in Las Vegas for the 53rd annual WSOP Main Event.
Dressed for the theme, the Wedding Crashers star was carried out to the final table by a full Roman Royal Court as he debuted the newly designed Main Event bracelet along the way. It made for quite the scene.
Wednesday’s event was the last of four $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em flights. Vaughn kicked off the event with a few words, including the “shuffle up and deal” announcement.
According to a Caesars press release, the bracelet Vaughn unveiled is custom created from 500 grams of 10 karat white and yellow gold and features 2,767 various stones, including rubies, and black and white diamonds.
“As Master of Ceremonies for the World Series of Poker, I couldn’t be more excited to play a role on the Las Vegas Strip by kicking off the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament in the world,” Vaughn said. “This is the Main Event and a World Champion needs an incredible trophy, not just some lousy ring.”
We’ve all been there: It’s movie night with your friends or significant other and you’re in the mood for a classic sports flick. The problem is some of the most exceptional athletic feats ever captured on film have been carelessly categorized into another genre: The Rom-Com.
Listen, there’s nothing wrong with romantic comedies. I love the Holy Chrises — Evans, Hemsworth and Pine — and I LIVE for those celebrity-loaded movies where they juggle 12 different storylines only to tie it all together at the end. But it’s time for some of the best sports films of our generation to finally get the credit they deserve.
Vince Vaughn joins the ESPN College GameDay crew (Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and David Pollack) and pick today’s games.
The Big Ten returns this weekend and ESPN’s College GameDay took notice by traveling to chilly Minneapolis as the Michigan Wolverines are hosted by the Minnesota Gophers. As they always do, GameDay brings in a guest with a home-site flavor, actor Vince Vaughn.

Vaughn is famous for his roles in Rudy, Swingers, Old School, Wedding Crashers and many other fantastic films. He’s a huge sports fan, also roots for the Chicago Cubs. Here are Desmond Howard, David Pollack, Kirk Herbstreit, and Lee Corso’s plus Vaughn’s picks for the slate of games today.
