Watch Georgia rookie WR hauls in amazing one-handed catch

Undrafted Georgia Bulldogs rookie wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is trying to make the Washington Commanders roster

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is trying to make an NFL roster after going undrafted in the 2024 NFL draft. Rosemy-Jacksaint showed off his reliable hands for the Washington Commanders in minicamp with a spectacular one-handed snag.

Many NFL draft experts were surprised after Rosemy-Jacksaint went undrafted. He is already turning heads and does the little things right, so don’t be surprised if he ends up making Washington’s final roster this fall.

The Washington Commanders don’t have the most depth at wide receiver, so Rosemy-Jacksaint has an opportunity to stand out and carve out a role in the NFL. Here’s a look at Rosemy-Jacksaint’s amazing catch.

Rosemy-Jacksaint is one of five undrafted Georgia Bulldogs that are hoping to make an NFL roster. The 2024 NFL draft featured the selection of eight Georgia players.

ESPN CFB analyst Pat McAfee breaks down Kirby Smart’s big contract extension

Pat McAfee reacts to Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart receiving a historic 10-year, $130 million contract extension

ESPN college football analyst Pat McAfee thinks that Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart deserves his massive 10-year, $130 million contract extension. “You deserve it,” chanted McAfee on his podcast.

Kirby Smart is now the highest-paid coach in college football. Smart has won two national championships in the past three seasons and has transformed the Georgia football program. The Bulldogs have more first-round picks than losses during the Kirby Smart era.

“It is an old-school feel down there in Athens. And I love that Kirby’s getting rewarded,” said McAfee. “And I think this is good for the future of college football as a whole.”

We have to agree with McAfee here. Having continuity is good in college football. Following Nick Saban’s retirement and Jim Harbaugh’s departure for the NFL, Kirby Smart and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney are the only active college football coaches to win a national championship. The sport has seen a massive transformation over the past few seasons with the rise of the transfer portal and name, image and likeness.

Jersey numbers for Georgia Bulldog rookies in the NFL

Eight Georgia rookies in the NFL have received their jersey numbers

The 2024 NFL draft featured eight Georgia Bulldogs finding NFL homes. Additionally, four more Dawgs found NFL teams as undrafted free agents and another Bulldog is trying out with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Right now, 62 Georgia Bulldogs are on NFL rosters and eight NFL teams have at least for Dawgs on their rosters. The Kirby Smart era has produced an incredible amount of NFL talent including 33 draft picks over the past three NFL drafts. Georgia players are on 25 of the 32 teams in NFL.

The 2024 NFL season begins on Sept. 5 with preseason games beginning on Aug. 8. As rosters are currently configured, 11 Georgia Bulldogs would play in primetime on Week 1 of the NFL season when the Philadelphia Eagles play the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 6 in Brazil.

Jersey numbers are known for eight of the 12 Georgia Bulldog rookies in the NFL. What are the jersey numbers we do know?

Georgia’s Javon Bullard makes rookie mistake, gets lost on way to practice field

Watch as former Georgia Bulldogs star Javon Bullard gets lost on the way to Green Bay Packers’ rookie minicamp

The Green Bay Packers drafted Georgia Bulldogs defenisve back Javon Bullard in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft. Bullard, who had an emotional reaction to being drafted, is now learning about how to be a professional football player.

Javon Bullard’s first rookie mistake is a harmless one. Bullard briefly got lost on the way to the Packers’ practice field during rookie minicamp.

Rookies are overwhelmed with new information after being drafted. Bullard is still learning the playbook and the way around Green Bay’s facility.

Here’s the funny moment when Bullard learned the way to the Packers’ practice field. Bullard is one of 11 Green Bay draft picks that is on the Packers’ rookie minicamp roster.

Javon Bullard will have plenty of time to learn as the Packers prepare for training camp. Bullard brings versatility to the Green Bay secondary and has a chance to start as a rookie.

Brock Bowers named as a NFL draft steal

Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers, who fell to the Raiders, has been named as one of the steals of the 2024 NFL draft

Pro Football Focus has named Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers as one of the first-round steals of the 2024 NFL draft. Bowers fell to the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 13 pick of the draft.

The Raiders did not need a tight end, but saw too much value in Brock Bowers to pass up on him. Bowers is the best tight end prospect in recent NFL draft history. Bowers has three years of outstanding production from his time at Georgia, but was dealing with an ankle/hamstring injury throughout the predraft process.

When healthy, Brock Bowers provides elite after-the-catch ability and is a solid blocker. Bowers is tough to guard one-on-one and can even line up in the backfield.

The Raiders landed one of the best weapons in the NFL draft and won’t regret drafting Bowers. Las Vegas has struggled with first-round picks in recent years, but the Raiders found an excellent value in Brock Bowers.

PFF also notes four other first-round steals: Chicago’s Rome Odunze, Indianapolis’ Laiatu Latu, Philadelphia’s Quinyon Mitchell and Detroit’s Terrion Arnold.

4-star UGA quarterback commit Ryan Montgomery sets official visit

Talented class of 2025 quarterback recruit Ryan Montgomery has planned out some visits for the spring.

Four-star Georgia football quarterback commitment Ryan Montgomery is planning to take an official visit to the University of Georgia from May 31-June 2.

Montgomery committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over the Florida Gators and South Carolina Gamecocks. Montgomery is ranked as the No. 14 quarterback recruit in the class of 2025, per 247Sports. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound quarterback is the No. 170 recruit in the country and the eighth-ranked prospect in Ohio.

Montgomery plays high school football for Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio. Montgomery, who has been recruiting other top prospects to join him at Georgia, also plays basketball.

Montgomery visited numerous college football programs this spring before committing to Georgia. Kirby Smart and Georgia football have eight commitments in the class of 2025 and the nation’s No. 13 recruiting class.

The elite quarterback prospect announced his official visit to Georgia via social media:

Georgia football’s most recent quarterback commitment is from Arizona State transfer Jaden Rashada.

Watch Ladd McConkey’s NFL draft call with the Los Angeles Chargers

Watch UGA football wide receiver Ladd McConkey’s epic NFL draft call with Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft. The Chargers traded up to the No. 34 slot in the draft to pick the speedy Georgia receiver.

McConkey impressed NFL teams throughout the draft process and will have an opportunity to be the Chargers’ top pass catcher as a rookie. Los Angeles has a thin wide receivers room and needs help.

McConkey should have a massive rookie season. Alex Katson of Chargers Wire writes that McConkey has a lot of potential in year one with Los Angeles.

The upside here is that McConkey will be a more direct replacement for the traded Keenan Allen as an underneath player who wins with route-running savvy. We know Justin Herbert likes those kinds of players: all Allen did last season was set the franchise record for receptions in a single season.

Before we get carried away with analysis on Ladd McConkey, let’s take a look at the moment he discovered the Chargers were drafting him.

McConkey watched the NFL draft with family and friends and did not have to wait long to hear his name called on Day Two. It’s always fun to see how players react when they get the call on draft day.

Georgia walk-on WR announces transfer destination

Georgia football walk-on wide receiver Braxton Hicks makes commitment

Georgia Bulldogs walk-on wide receiver Braxton Hicks has committed to transferring to the Austin Peay Governors. Hicks is a graduate transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver is from Rabun County High School in Tiger, Georgia. Hicks did not record a reception or target in Georgia’s spring game.

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Braxton Hicks came to Athens as an unheralded recruit. He was a member of the class of 2020 and saw some action during the 2021 season for Georgia after redshirting in 2020.

The Rabun County product faced stout competition from a loaded Georgia wide receivers room, so it is hard to blame him for entering the transfer portal. He announced his plans to transfer to Austin Peay via social media:

Hicks arrived at the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on. Hicks joins several other Bulldogs in announcing their intentions to transfer away from Georgia this spring.

Atlanta Falcons draft Georgia DL Zion Logue

Defensive tackle Zion Logue is the eighth Georgia Bulldog drafted in the 2024 NFL draft

The Atlanta Falcons have drafted Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Zion Logue with the No. 197 pick (sixth round) of the 2024 NFL draft. Logue is the eighth Georgia Bulldog selected in the draft.

Logue will have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot for the Falcons. Logue is the third Georgia Bulldog the Falcons have drafted in the past three NFL drafts. However, the Falcons have not spent much draft capital on former Bulldogs.

Logue brings his run-stuffing ability to the NFL though he is not a fantastic pass rusher (1.5 career sacks). He has been part of some great defenses over the years.

Logue, who recorded a Pro Football Focus grade of 71.2 last season, is physical at the point of attack. Logue has played in 44 games over the past three years at Georgia, recording 17 quarterback hurries.

The Falcons have made defensive line (and quarterback!) a priority in the 2024 NFL draft. Atlanta has drafted three defensive tackles: Clemson’s Ruke Orhorhoro, Oregon’s Brandon Dorlus and Georgia’s Logue.

Former Georgia Bulldogs cornerback signs with UFL team

Former Georgia football DB signs with the Memphis Showboats in the UFL

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back DJ Daniel has signed with the UFL’s (United Football League) Memphis Showboats. Daniel joins several other former Georgia players in the UFL.

The Showboats are signing Daniel again after they cut him in training camp.

Daniel is 25 years old. He went undrafted in NFL after his college career at Georgia. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Daniel this offseason following the draft, but cut him. Daniel also signed with the New England Patriots. He previously played in the USFL. In fact, Daniel made the All-USFL team in 2023 after recording 30 tackles and three interceptions.

Daniel played football at Georgia Military College before transferring to the University of Georgia for his final two collegiate seasons.

Daniel played in 21 games in his career at Georgia. The former cornerback totaled 51 tackles and nine pass deflections during his time with the Bulldogs.
