2024 NFL combine results from Georgia DL Zion Logue

Here’s how UGA’s Zion Logue preformed at the NFL combine on Thursday…

The 2024 NFL combine is now underway in Indianapolis as the nation’s top NFL draft prospects preform in front of league personnel. This is the first chance for 2024 NFL draft prospects to prove they should garner a high pick.

11 Bulldogs are participating at this year’s Combine, including offensive linemen Amarius Mims and Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, running backs Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton, tight end Brock Bowers, wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, defensive tackle Zion Logue and defensive backs Javon Bullard, Kamari Lassiter and Tykee Smith.

Logue got the action started for the Bulldogs on Thursday. Below are his official measurements:

  • Height: 6-foot-5 5/8
  • Weight: 314 pounds
  • Hand: 10″
  • Arm: 33 1/2″
  • Wingspan: 80.25″
  • Forty: 5.14 (official)
  • Shuttle: DNP
  • Vertical Jump: 29″
  • Broad Jump: 9’1″

NFL.com overview: With one year as a full-time starter, Logue is still inexperienced despite staying for five years at Georgia. He has good size and length but average body composition. He rarely reads early block movement and finds himself on the wrong side of move blocks a disappointingly high number of times, despite decent initial quickness. Logue just doesn’t have a go-to skill set that allows him to stand out.

Logue gave credit to Kirby Smart and Georgia when asked what he learned during his time in Athens.

You can catch full coverage of this week’s Combine on NFL network. Defensive lineman and linebackers will kickoff on-field drills on Thursday at 3 p.m., followed by defensive backs and tight ends on Friday at 3 p.m. Quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs will preform at 1 p.m. on Saturday before workouts end with the offensive lineman and specialists on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Georgia DL Zion Logue entering the NFL draft

Georgia Bulldogs run-stuffer Zion Logue make NFL draft decision (in case you missed it).

Georgia football defensive lineman Zion Logue is entering the 2024 NFL draft. Logue was expected to declare for the draft after he previously accepted an invitation to play in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl.

Logue, a senior, is a key run-stopped on the Georgia’s defensive front. The Lebanon, Tennessee, native recorded 17 tackles in 14 games for the Bulldogs in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound defensive tackle regularly started throughout this past season and finishes his career with 1.5 sacks. Zion Logue signed as a three-star recruit in the 2019 class.

Senior defensive linemen Warren Brinson and Nazir Stackhouse still have NFL draft decisions to make. Zion Logue announced his plans to enter the NFL draft via social media.

The Bulldogs have added South Carolina transfer Xzavier McLeod and several top defensive line recruits in the class of 2024. Marshall Thundering Herd transfer defensive lineman Elijah Alston has an upcoming visit to the Georgia Bulldogs. Alston is more of a pass rusher.

Georgia DL Zion Logue accepts Shrine Bowl invitation

Georgia DL Zion Logue accepts Shrine Bowl invitation

Georgia football defensive lineman Zion Logue has made his NFL decision. He will play in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl, where eligible players have a chance to showcase their skills in front of NFL coaches and scouts.

Logue, a senior, has been a key contributor and leader on the Bulldogs’ defensive front. The Lebanon, Tenn., native signed as a three-star recruit in the 2019 class.

Logue played in all 13 games for Georgia this season, racking up 16 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups.

Georgia’s defensive line will look much differently next season with upperclassmen like Logue moving on. Seniors Warren Brinson and Nazir Stackhouse still have a decision to make. Both have the option to use the COVID-19 year to add another year of eligibility.

The Bulldogs have been active in the transfer portal to make up for the lost production. Georgia hosted South Carolina transfer Xzavier McLeod this past weekend. UGA also expects to sign six defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class.

Know the Opponent: Georgia’s defense aims to match last season’s historic level

Georgia lost a load of talent to the NFL last year, but they’re locked and loaded, looking to build on a historic season.

It would be completely understandable if the 2022 Georgia defense isn’t quite up to par in comparison to the 2021 version. That Bulldog defense was historically great and led UGA to the national championship.

They also lost linebacker Travon Walker, who ended up being the No. 1 overall draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He wasn’t the only defender to move on. Georgia saw five members of the defense go in the first round of the NFL draft and their defensive coordinator Dan Lanning took a head coaching job at Oregon. He was replaced by Will Muschamp, the former South Carolina, and Florida head coach.

For most teams, losing all of that talent on and off the field would be crippling, and looking at a total rebuild. But the Bulldogs are not most teams.

For the 2022 season, the Georgia defense will be anchored by 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive lineman Jalen Carter. The junior, with a good season, is a heavy favorite to be the next Bulldog to be drafted in the first round. He was named as a preseason First Team All-American after being named to the coaches’ All-SEC Second team a year ago. Carter finished last year with 37 tackles and 33 quarterback pressures, three sacks, and 8.5 tackles for loss.

Next to Carter on the line will be 6-foot-5, 295-pound Zion Logue and 280-pound Travel Walthour, who will be taking over Walker’s position.

Georgia will be looking to find a way to replace Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, and Channing Tindall, who were all taken in the NFL draft. But Nolan Smith is a good place to begin to rebuild a position group. Trezmen Marshall will likely step into the middle linebacker spot and Robert Beal has starting experience on the strongside.

In the secondary, safety Christopher Smith is the real deal and will be playing on Sundays soon enough. Tykee Smith will be at the other safety spot, and while talented, he’s had a hard time staying on the field due to injuries.

Corner Kelee Ringo jumped onto the scene with his pick-6 that sealed Alabama’s fate in the national championship game. He’ll look to build on that to be a lockdown corner in the SEC.

They may have big shoes to fill when it comes to holding up the Georgia name on the defensive side of things, but these Bulldogs are well equipped to get the job done. The Ducks are going to have their hands full on Saturday.
