Three-star defensive back recruit Rickey Gibson has committed to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Georgia Bulldogs and Penn State Nittany Lions. The elite cornerback made his commitment on his parents’ anniversary.

Gibson is ranked as the No. 462 recruit in the senior class. Tennessee football’s latest commit has been steadily rising up recruiting rankings.

Rickey Gibson plays high school football for Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama. Gibson is the No. 24 prospect in Alabama and is rated as the No. 43 cornerback in the class of 2023. Hewitt-Trussville plays against a high level of competition at the high school level.

The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback is an excellent athlete. Gibson put on a show during a workout at the University of Georgia. The three-star’s impressive athletic profile is part of the reason why the Bulldogs offered the Hewitt-Trussville standout a scholarship this June.

The Bulldogs are a little bit late to recruit the three-star defensive back. The defending national champions extended an offer to Gibson on June 21. Gibson is ranked as the No. 495 recruit in the rising senior class. He has been steadily rising up recruiting rankings.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to Baylor School star Amari Jefferson.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2024 recruit Amari Jefferson. Georgia football is dipping into Tennessee to recruit Jefferson, who plays high school football for Baylor School in Chattanooga.

Jefferson has already committed to playing baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers. Could the multi-sport star play both football and baseball for Tennessee? The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete has football scholarship offers from Kentucky, Chattanooga, Virginia Tech, and more.

Jefferson has good speed and excellent hand-eye coordination.

Four-star defensive line prospect Champ Thompson has named his top schools including UGA.

Four-star defensive line prospect Champ Thompson has named his top 10 schools. Thompson is a member of the class of 2024.

Champ Thompson ranks Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Arkansas as his top schools for the time being.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive line recruit plays for Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Georgia. Thompson is ranked the No. 209 rising junior in the country and the No. 21 defensive line prospect per 247Sports. Additionally, Thompson is the No. 33 recruit in Georgia.

Top college football programs Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn, Louisville, Michigan and more have offered Thompson a scholarship.

Thompson has good speed for a defensive line prospect and was named 7A All-Region last season. Thompson does a good job of shedding blocks and is a stout run defender. He holds up well at the point of attack and primarily plays defensive tackle.

The Bulldogs extended an offer to Gibson on June 21. Gibson is ranked as a three-star defensive back and the No. 629 recruit in the rising senior class.

Georgia football is a little late to the race for Gibson, but the Bulldogs and Kirby Smart have a lot of great selling points to recruits.

Four-star defensive back recruit Daniel Harris has committed to Georgia over Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. Harris was expected to commit to the Bulldogs.

Daniel Harris has scholarship offers from some of the best college football programs across the country. The four-star cornerback is Georgia’s 13th commitment in the class of 2023. The Bulldogs have the No. 6 ranked recruiting class in the country.

Georgia football has commitments from three defensive backs. Five-star AJ Harris committed to the Dawgs just a few weeks ago. Additionally, Justyn Rhett, one of the top recruits in Nevada, committed in April.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound defensive back ranks as the No. 19 cornerback in the class of 2023 recruiting cycle. Harris is the No. 151 recruit in the rising senior class and is the No. 31 recruit in Florida. Harris’ brother, Donell Harris, plays defensive line for the Texas A&M Aggies.

Harris received a scholarship offer from the University of Georgia in Feb. 2022. The four-star cornerback plays high school football and runs track for Gulliver Prep in Miami, Florida.

As a defensive back, Harris does a good job of reading the quarterback. He pins receivers to the sideline and uses his length well in coverage. Harris is a willing run defender, but could improve upon his tackling form before playing at the highest level of college football.

Samson Okunlola is a rising senior at Thayer Academy in Brockton, Massachusetts. Does he name sound familiar? Samson is brothers with Samuel Okunlola, a former three-star class of 2022 defensive end prospect, plays college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Samson Okunlola is one of the elite talents along the offensive line in the class of 2023. The younger Okunlola is ranked as the No. 33 recruit in the country. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive lineman is the top-ranked recruit in Massachusetts and the third-ranked offensive tackle in the country.

The five-star offensive tackle considers Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, Florida, Penn State, Miami, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Ohio State to be his top schools. Somewhat surprisingly, Okunlola does not rank Pittsburgh among his top nine.

Samson Okunlola has over 45 scholarship offers. He has excellent flexibility and bend and also wrestles at a high level.

Okunlola has an official visit with Michigan State scheduled June 10-12. The five-star offensive lineman also visited Oregon on May 22.

Baxter Jr. is a four-star prospect. He plays high school football for Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida.

He is 6-foot-1 and weighs 215 pounds. The four-star running back has been invited to the 2023 Under Armour All-America game.

Baxter Jr. primarily plays running back for Edgewater and returns punts. He runs with good balance and makes strong cuts. The four-star prospect has a powerful stiff arm.

Baxter Jr. has taken visits to Florida and Florida State. The four-star prospect grew up a Florida State fan and originally committed to the Seminoles, but backed off his decision in April 2021.

Georgia currently holds the No. 2-ranked recruiting class in 2023 behind Oklahoma. Kirby Smart already has seven commitments from four-star prospects in the class of 2023. UGA has a pair of 2023 defensive back commitments in Marcus Washington and Kayin Lee.
