COMMIT: LSU lands top 2025 IOL Tyler Miller

The Tigers added to their potentially elite 2025 class on Sunday.

LSU is off to a blazing start on the recruiting trail to begin the 2025 cycle, and it has added another top 100 recruit to its list of commitments.

On Sunday, the Tigers secured a pledge from four-star Laurel (Mississippi) offensive lineman [autotag]Tyler Miller[/autotag] over in-state Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others that included Florida.

On3’s industry rankings have Miller as the No. 71 player in the class and No. 3 interior offensive lineman. On3’s own rankings are higher on him, slotting him in the top 40 overall and as the top player at his position.

That gives LSU commitments from the top quarterback, running back, receiver and interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class.

LSU’s 11-man 2025 class ranks first nationally.

Three-star offensive lineman puts Florida in top 3 after Week 3 win

Three-star offensive line prospect visited Florida for the Tennessee weekend and says he had an “amazing experience.”

The Florida Gators took down the Tennessee Volunteers last weekend on prime-time television and the entire nation, including highly touted recruits, was watching.

The guest list to the Swamp was stacked with big names from around the state and southeastern region, and a three-star prospect from Laurel, Mississippi, reflected on his trip to Gainesville.

Offensive lineman [autotag]Tyler Miller[/autotag] already received an offer from Florida so he paid a visit for the SEC rivalry game between the Vols and Gators. He talked to On3 about his trip.

“It was an amazing experience. They were resilient and it was an amazing game,” Miller said. “It was amazing with the lights. I’ve never been a part of anything like that before. It was amazing being a part of that.”

Miller also revealed his top choices of schools and where his next trip will be.

“(Florida is) definitely top three,” Miller said. “Mississippi State and Auburn (as well).”

Miller will be in Starkville on Saturday for the showdown between the Miss State Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks.

According to 247Sports, Miller is a three-star prospect at Laurel High School, standing at 6-foot-7-inches and weighing in at 340 pounds.  The Mississippi native received an offer from the Gators on Aug. 17.

Florida football gets another big recruit for Vols game visit

The Gators will have a chance to impress a myriad of coveted recruits two Saturdays from now.

Add another name to the laundry list of prep recruits who plan on attending Florida football’s Southeastern Conference opener against the Tennessee Volunteers inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Sept. 16.

Three-star defensive tackle [autotag]Tyler Miller[/autotag] out of Laurel (Mississippi) in the 2025 recruiting class told Corey Bender of Gators Online on Sunday that he plans to be among the many other high schoolers present for the big matchup.

“Me, my mom and dad are coming to the Tennessee game,” Miller informed Gators Online.

While the 6-foot-7-inch, 340-pound defender is a bit under the radar as a three-star prospect, he is still sought by the likes of the Auburn Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, Purdue Boilermakers, UNLV Rebels, Memphis Tigers and Norfolk State Spartans. He currently has visits scheduled with the first three listed, along with Florida.

As far as the Gators go, their reputation precedes them as the high school junior recognized Florida’s status in college football history, which has given the Orange and Blue a boost.

“Florida is definitely near the top,” he noted when asked about UF’s status among his preferred schools.

“I look at Florida as iconic. It’s a team I’ve been watching since I was young. I know Florida sends a lot of players to the next level.”

As for the connection between him and the program, assistant coach and offensive coordinator Chris Sale has been the main point of contact.

“Coach Sale hit me up on the phone and gave off a great vibe. I can relate to him on things dealing with our parents. And just overall how he was excited about our future relationship. I loved the vibe for the first week of our relationship.”

Miller is ranked No. 146 at his position and No. 13 in the state of Nevada according to 247Sports while no other service has data for him. However, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Mississippi State in front with a 19.5% chance of signing him, followed by Ole Miss (17.1%), Auburn (14.6%) and Memphis (12.2%).

Magnolia State OL recruit ponders visit date after Florida football’s offer

Florida has been focusing a bit on Mississippi as a source of top talent.

Florida football extended a scholarship offer to three-star offensive lineman [autotag]Tyler Miller[/autotag] out of Laurel (Mississippi) on Thursday following a text exchange between him and Gators offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Rob Sale.

The 6-foot-7-inch, 340-pound behemoth caught the eye of Sale, who seems to see something in the high school junior beyond his massive size.

“(Sale) talked about how he liked my film and was asking if I was ready to get to work,” Miller told Swamp247’s Donovan Keiser. “He loves my size and ability.”

However, the coveted lineman still has a lot of catching up to do with the Orange and Blue.

“I don’t know a lot, but I know some good football players went there like Tim Tebow,” Miller admitted. “I don’t really know as much but I’ve been watching them since I was young.”

The Magnolia State product has his eyes on the Southeastern Conference for his collegiate destination, with four schools in particular on his tentative itinerary. However, no specific dates have been set yet.

“We’re planning to go to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida and Missouri.”

Miller is ranked No. 40 at his position nationally and No. 10 in his state according to 247Sports with no other services offering numbers for him. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors MSU with a 19.5% chance of signing him, followed by Ole Miss (17.1%), Auburn (14.6%) and Memphis (12.2%)

It looks like they had a great time

Auburn returns to Plainsman Park for final non-conference series

Auburn will close its weekend non-conference schedule with a three-game series against Arkansas Little Rock at Plainsman Park.

Auburn will close its weekend non-conference schedule with a three-game series against Arkansas-Little Rock at Plainsman Park.

Auburn is coming off of a 6-5 win over UAB on Wednesday and will be looking to keep the offence rolling in their first ever matchup with the Trojans, who have won four of their last five games to improve to 5-5 on the season.

The Tigers lead the nation in runs scored (121), is one of just three teams to have seven players with multiple home runs and ranks in the top 10 nationally in eight other offensive categories.

Leading the charge for Auburn has been junior Tyler Miller. The first baseman has been a revelation for the Tigers leading them in hits (18), home runs (3), RBI (18), and ranking top 5 in batting average, OPS, runs and slugging.

Miller admitted he got off to a slow start in 2020 but was unable to break out of the slump due to the season being cancelled. He said he settled in against Alabama A&M.

“Ever since then I’ve just been seeing it well, swinging at the right balls – swinging at strikes mainly, not balls – and when I swing at it, I’m not missing it,” Miller said. “Seeing ‘em fall is a lot better than not seeing ‘em fall.”

The offences hot start has been important as the Tigers will turn to their fourth different weekend rotation through four weeks.

The Tigers will get back one of their original weekend starters back in senior right-hander Cody Greenhill (1-0, 2.89), who is expected to be back in his role as the Friday night starter for the Tigers after missing last week with a foot injury.

However, they will be without Richard Fitts and Jack Owen. Fitts is battling the same injury as Greenhill and could return for the series with Ole Miss to open SEC play next weekend. Owen could also return for that series as well.

Auburn will instead turn to two righthanders in Mason Barnett (1-0, 0.84) and Trace Bright (2-0, 1.12).

Barnett will be making his third start and besides from walking eight batters has done a great job shutting down opposing offences. Allowing just two runs in 10.2 innings and has shown why he was the likely closer before injuries forced him to slide into a starting role.

Bright has also shined as a sophomore, allowing just three runs in 16 innings of work and striking out 13 batters to just three walks. He also had perhaps the best start of an Auburn pitcher against Texas A&M, throwing six shutout innings in their 6-1 victory.

The group will go up against a red-hot Little Rock offense that scored 19 runs in their last two games and is hitting .278 as a team. The offence is led by John Michael Russ who is hitting .500 on the year.

Little Rock is expected to send a trio of veterans to the mound in seniors Aaron Funk (0-1, 5.68) and Hayden Arnold (1-1, 8.49) and redshirt junior Jack DeCooman (0-1, 4.15).

Auburn games on Friday and Sunday’s will be on SECN+/ESPN+ and Saturday’s game will air on SEC Network while. Games will be 4 p.m. CT Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
