Notre Dame a slight underdog at Syracuse

Is this number set right?

Notre Dame is coming off an up-and-down type performance against UNLV that saw the Irish move to 4-3 but not without some struggles along the way.  As the Irish transition to Syracuse and an Orange team that led at unbeaten Clemson before giving up 17 fourth-quarter points last week, it’s safe to say this game isn’t the two-foot putt most Notre Dame observers thought it’d be back in the summer.

The latest odds have Syracuse being a slight favorite over the Irish for the 12:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Saturday.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Iowa Hawkeyes: Odds stay stagnant

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: @Tipico odds stay stagnant #GoBucks

The Ohio State Buckeyes (6-0) will kick off their seventh game of the season against the Iowa Hawkeyes (3-3) at noon ET on Oct. 22 in Columbus, Ohio. This series has been very interesting. The home team has gone 5-2, but 3-3-1 against the spread, during the last seven contests.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, have Ohio State listed as a mighty large 29.5-point favorite with the total points set at 49.5. We covered that this opened up at 29.5 at the beginning of the week and there has been no movement.

This number has ranged between 28-points and 30-points at various books, which doesn’t seem like a huge gap, but that 28-point mark is a key number. Most pundits have mentioned that they felt this number was high, which also makes it odd that we haven’t seen it lowered at any point.

The total in this contest also hasn’t budged at all as it sits at 49.5-points. You can catch 50-points at some books, but half of a point shouldn’t be a determining factor.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Ohio State Buckeyes @tipico opening odds #GoBucks

On October 22, the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-0) will kick off their seventh game of the season against the Iowa Hawkeyes (3-3) at 12:00 p.m. ET in Columbus, Ohio. This series has been very interesting with the home team going 5-2 straight-up, but 3-3-1 against the spread during the last seven contests.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, currently have Ohio State listed as a mighty large 29.5-point favorite with the total points set at 49.5. This seems like a large spread, but Ohio State has done well in this series winning 13 of the last 15 match-ups and going 9-5-1 against the spread during that time.

It should be noted that the last time these two teams met was in 2017 and our beloved Buckeyes lost 55-24 despite being an 18-point favorite at the time.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan State Spartans opening odds

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan State Spartans @Tipico opening odds #GoBucks

On October 9, the Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0) will kick off their sixth game of the season against the Michigan State Spartans (2-3) at 4:00 p.m. ET in East Lansing, Michigan. The Buckeyes have had some great success in this series going 15-3 in the last 18 contests.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, currently have Ohio State listed as a mighty large 25.5-point favorite with the total points set at 64.5. This seems like a large spread, but as discussed above, Ohio State has done well in this series and in addition to going 15-3 straight-up, the Buckeyes are also 12-6 against the spread in that same stretch.

This line may seem large, but Ohio State is explosive and own Michigan State after winning six in a row and topping the spread five times in a row.

College football Week 5 best bets

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We are diving into our favorite picks against the spread for this week, but if you are looking for more information or to place a bet check out Tipico Sportsbook.

Last week we were horrible at 3-5 and that brought our season total down to 21-18, which makes our winning percentage too small at 53%. The goal for the season is 55%. We are already off to a rough start as I watch BYU struggle with Utah State, but I’ll try to rip off some big wins for us on the Saturday slate.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: Odds moving toward Rutgers money?

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: @Tipico odds moving towards Rutgers money? #GoBucks

On October 1, the Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) will kick off their fifth game of the season against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes have dominated this series going in 8-0 against Rutgers straight-up and winning by an average of 42.5 points per game.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, originally had Ohio State listed as 40.5-point favorites, but the line is getting smaller. The Buckeyes now sit as 39.5-point favorites. It may seem humorous to spend time evaluating why a line that is still over five touchdowns changed by one point, but it is interesting to think that money may be coming in on a Rutgers squad that has such a rough history against Ohio State.

The over/under also moved as it originally opened at 60.5, but has now moved to 58.5.

Neither the side nor the total moved through key numbers on their way down, but they do provide an indication of how the line is trending and if you are like me and considering emptying the wallet on the Buckeyes, it may be in your best interest to wait.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Ohio State Buckeyes opening odds

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Ohio State Buckeyes @Tipico opening odds #GoBucks

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, currently have Ohio State listed as a mighty large 40.5-point favorite with the total points set at 60.5. This seems like a large spread, but as discussed above, Ohio State has dominated this series and in addition to being 8-0 straight up against the Scarlet Knights, the Buckeyes are 6-2 against the spread, and in each game, Ohio State has been favored by 21 or more points.

Last season the Buckeyes led 24-6 at the end of the first quarter, which turned into a 46-6 lead at halftime, a 52-6 lead heading into the third quarter, and ultimately a 52-13 blowout.

Rutgers vs. Iowa: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

Rutgers takes on Iowa in Week 4 Saturday night. Check out the lines provided by Tipico, see how you should place your bets

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights play the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game starts at 7:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

Rutgers has started the year 3-0 on the season, and will try to make it 4-0 for only the first time since 2012. Game 1 at Boston College and Game 3 at Temple were both sloppy performances where the Scarlet Knights barely escaped with victories. Week 2 was an expected blowout against a lowly Wagner program from the FCS. Regardless, a win is a win and Rutgers has three in as many weeks.

Iowa is 2-1 on the season, but the Hawkeyes are coming off a season in which they finished with 10 wins and the No. 23 spot in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. Iowa won in Weeks 1 and 3, dropping their second contest in a rivalry game against Iowa State. This is the third time these programs are facing off and every time was the opening of conference play for both squads. They are the toughest test for the Scarlet Knights by a good margin so far this season.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: Odds show money movement toward OSU!

Wisconsin Badgers vs Ohio State Buckeyes: @Tipico odds show money movement toward OSU! #GoBucks

On Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes (3-0) will kick off against the Wisconsin Badgers (2-1) at 7:30 p.m. ET in Columbus, Ohio, in their fourth game of the season.

The Buckeyes have dominated this series, winning the last eight. Perhaps even more impressively, the Buckeyes are 6-2 against the spread during that time.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider, originally released their odds and had Ohio State as a fairly large 17.5-point favorite. Believe it or not, the spread has grown wider. The Buckeyes are now favored by 18.5. In the grand scheme, one point that isn’t moving through a key number isn’t that big of a change. The total has also been released and sits at 56.5.

Now, whether or not that pans out on the field, we’ll have to see. Get your plans out of the way during the day tomorrow and get ready to settle in to watch what should be a good one.
