Transfer Dazia Lawrence has committed to Kentucky women’s basketball

Charlotte transfer Dazia Lawrence will play for Kentucky women’s basketball next season.

Kentucky women’s basketball coach Kenny Brooks has landed another transfer. Former Charlotte 49ers guard Dazia Lawrence announced on Sunday that she would be joining the Wildcats for the 2024-25 season.

The 5’8 guard has been fantastic over her last two seasons. She averaged 17.5 points, four rebounds, and 2.4 assists. She also had nearly two steals per game and shot 33% from three point range.

Lawrence was honored as first team All-American Athletic Conference last year. She was first team All-Conference USA the year before that.

Brooks has done an excellent job of adding impact players to the Wildcats roster for next year. Hiring former Charlotte assistant Ciara Gregory may have helped in the recruitment of Lawrence, who might now be the best scorer on the team.

Kentucky expects to be one of the better teams in the SEC next season thanks to the job that Kenny Brooks has done in building the roster. Big Blue Nation should expect a fun, and competitive season for the Wildcats.
