Gym looking to endorse entire Miami football team

If the entire Notre Dame football team were to endorse a single product, what should it be and why?

Earlier this week the Notre Dame offensive line became the benefactors of the new NIL laws as they found an official sponsor for the entire unit.  Now it’s the entire Miami Hurricanes football team that the owner of an MMA gym is trying to endorse.

Dan Lambert owns American Top Team and has a plan in place for the Miami football team to benefit as he wants to endorse every scholarship player for $500 per month in exchange for publicity for his gym on social media.

“I’m not looking to profit from this,” Lambert said. “I want to try to bring people together and make our team better. I’ve got too many Gator and Seminole friends that have been (expletive) on me for the last 20 years. I want to reverse it.”

-Dan Lambert

I can’t be the only one who thinks if Miami is going to be endorsed by a gym that it should be linked to Dwayne Johnson.

Connaughton scores 14 as Bucks drop game two

Another strong night for Planet Pat but another loss for the Bucks

Despite a fast start Thursday night the Milwaukee Bucks dropped game two of the NBA Finals, 118-108.  A 30-16 edge in the second quarter for Phoenix gave the Suns an edge they wouldn’t look back from.

Former Notre Dame star Pat Connaughton scored 14 points for Milwaukee in the loss, hitting four three-pointers as well as an additional field goal.  He also hauled in seven rebounds while playing 34 minutes.

The series now moves to Milwaukee where the Bucks are desperate for a win as they trail the best-of-seven series 2-0.

Game three of the 2021 NBA Finals is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m. on Sunday night.

Watch: Notre Dame releases ‘dominant mindset’ video

Want to watch the Irish work out?

With the 2021 season kicking off in less than two months, Notre Dame knows that every moment counts with its preparation. To that end, lots of time in the weight room is important for everybody. After all, the competition is made up of fellow football players who have earned the right to be at a level that only the NFL can compete with. Not that there was any doubt that the Irish are taking their preparation seriously, but here’s a video they released that gives us proof anyway:

These young men are not taking this opportunity for granted, and they know that if they don’t put in the work that will allow them to perform at a high level, someone right behind them will take their place. It’s why college football is such an emotional game. Your entire life revolves around it, and you want to see all of that work pay off. There really is nothing like it.

Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart suffers ankle injury in USA Basketball camp

Stewart reportedly suffered an ankle injury with the USA Basketball select team during a scrimmage against the Olympic team.

Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart reportedly suffered an ankle injury on Thursday with the USA Basketball select team during a scrimmage against the Olympic team, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Stewart, who was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team, was forced to leave the scrimmage game because of the injury in order to get treatment. The exact details of the injury are not yet known, including how severe it is and if he will be forced to withdraw from the camp.

He was among 17 players named to the select team that opened training camp this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The select team is practicing and scrimmaging daily to prepare the U.S. national team for the Olympics in Tokyo.

Stewart turned in a strong rookie campaign with the Pistons, averaging 7.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 68 games. He led all rookie players in total rebounding, offensive rebounding (2.3 per game), blocked shots and double-doubles (eight) this season.

The injury to Stewart comes just one day after Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards was seen hobbling out of the arena with an ankle injury. He suffered the injury with the select team in a scrimmage against the Olympic team.

Stephen Curry reacts to Warriors potentially adding two lottery picks

Curry on Thursday expressed his opinion on the Warriors potentially adding two lottery picks this year in the draft.

[mm-video type=video id=01fa49d2jfzxztp7ypv7 playlist_id=01f09kz5ecxq9bp57b player_id=01f1jxkahtwnvzepyp image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fa49d2jfzxztp7ypv7/01fa49d2jfzxztp7ypv7-0ba72ae34618d766d002d391310049ac.jpg]

Stephen Curry on Thursday expressed his opinion on the Golden State Warriors potentially adding two lottery picks this year and the two-time NBA MVP might be OK with it.

Of course, the Warriors hold pick Nos. 7 and 14 this year after acquiring an additional selection from the Minnesota Timberwolves. It will mark the second consecutive draft the organization has at least one lottery pick after taking James Wiseman last year.

Curry, who spoke at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, said the Warriors could add some good players with both picks.

At 7 and 14, there’s probably going to be some legit talent there that, if it’s the best player and right fit, of course, they could make an impact and be ready right away to play some significant minutes and hopefully get better throughout the season and be ready for a potential playoff run.

While the Warriors can potentially add two draft picks to the roster, they are expected to shop at least the seventh pick in order to acquire veteran players that can help them win now. The team is reportedly open to including Wiseman along with the seventh pick in trade talks.

Curry added that the Warriors haven’t really worked out any of the top prospects yet, but he knows things can change rather quickly before now and the draft on July 29.

You got a lot of talented guys and you don’t know how (picks) 1-6 goes and how things change really quickly. I always love to give my input and be a part of that process but as it stands right now, I don’t even think we’ve had any guys within that top 14 come to the Bay and workout yet.

Curry said that he has been in touch with Warriors president Bob Myers and head coach Steve Kerr and acknowledged that everything is on the table in terms of improving the roster. The team is also expected to get Klay Thompson back at some point from Achilles surgery.

With two lottery picks in tow, the Warriors figure to be aggressive in trying to improve the roster and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them move one or both of those assets. The night of the draft is always filled with twists and turns, and this year should be no different.

Former Ohio State forward Kosta Koufos added to Carmen’s Crew roster

Another addition to Carmen’s Crew. Tell us what you remember about Koufos’ career at Ohio State.

We are just a few weeks away from the highly entertaining winner-take-a-boatload of cash event called The Basketball Tournament. And with it, you’ll be able to see your favorite Ohio State basketball alumni squad better known as “Carmen’s Crew.”

We already know the schedule, venue, and most of the roster makeup so close to all the fun tipping off, but today Carmen’s Crew announced another addition to the roster, former Buckeye basketball player Kosta Koufos.

Koufus was expected to do big things in Columbus. He was a five-star prospect that was part a No. 4 ranked recruiting class in 2007 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He was joined by the likes of Jon Diebler and Evan Turner in the class.

But things didn’t quite go according to plan for the team during the 2007-2008 season. Koufos was productive enough — averaging 14.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and a 50.8 field goal percentage — but the team failed to make the NCAA Tournament and instead settled for the NIT where it made a run all the way to the title.

And that would be the only year we got to see Koufus in the scarlet and gray. He would enter his name in the 2008 NBA draft and wind up being selected by the Utah Jazz as the No. 23 overall pick in the first round.

Since then, Koufos has bounced around quite a bit. He’s seen some time in the NBA with the Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Sacramento Kings, but never really caught on consistently. He most recently played for CSKA Moscow during the 2019-2020 seasons.

Now, he’ll be a part of another run for all the money with Carmen’s Crew.

Euro 2020 Final: How to bet on England

Looking at how to bet on England in Sunday’s Euro 2020 Final against Italy.

The Euro 2020 Final is finally here and features host England against Italy at Wembley Stadium in London. Kickoff will be Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. Below, we look at how to bet on England in the Euro 2020 Final, with picks and predictions.

In the biggest international sporting event since the world was taken siege by COVID-19, normalcy is returned in the form of England at home against Italy.

Despite both sides being taken to extra time in their respective semifinal match, England and Italy have looked dominant all tournament. With all eyes on the home side, let’s dive into how one can bet on England in the Euro 2020 Final.

Euro 2020 Final: England vs. Italy odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 7:12 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: England +170 (bet $100 to win $170) | Italy +190 (bet $100 to win $190) | Draw +200
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +140 | U: -190)

How to bet on England in the Euro 2020 Final

When thinking about betting on England, there are a few huge mistakes you’ll want to avoid.

We describe those below, but with BetMGM, one huge perk is the parlays offered by the book. These give the best odds but ALL bets must hit in order to win.

One I love:

  • England to have more corners + the first half to be a draw + Under 2.5 scored in the match (+360).

If you bet $100 at the +360 odds and it hits, you fetch a profit of $360.

Along those lines, Italy and England have odds of -110 and -120, respectively, to win the match. That means one must bet $120 on England, or $110 on Italy, to win to return a $100 profit.

Let’s look at how to bet the money line and the Over/Under in the Euro 2020 Final and what mistakes to avoid.

Euro 2020 Final bets: Money line (ML)

The first rule is to properly understand the money line. The money line is referring to the full 90 minutes and excludes any result in extra time or penalty kicks. That’s why there is an option for a draw.

Given that both teams tied the first 90 minutes of their last match, it’s paramount to consider that could happen again. It’s also possible to bet on the Cup Winner at slightly reduced odds for each team without the threat of the draw.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Euro 2020 Final bets: Over/Under (O/U)

The total, or Over/Under, follows similar rules and asks how many goals the two teams will combine to score in regular time.

The projected goal total for the Euro 2020 Final is set at 2.5 and gives strong odds to the Under as both defenses have looked dominant.

Italy has given up 3 goals through six games and England has given up 1. That’s why the odds favor the Under, but both teams have scored multiple goals in multiple games.

Copa America: Colombia vs. Peru odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Colombia vs. Peru odds and lines, with Copa America betting picks, tips and predictions.

In Friday’s third-place match of Copa America, Colombia takes on Peru. The match is set for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia, Brazil. Below, we preview the Colombia vs. Peru odds and lines, and make our best Copa America picks and predictions.

Colombia is coming off a disappointing loss to Argentina. It hung with the more talented side through 90 minutes but lost 3-2 in penalty kicks. It has been an impressive run.

As for Peru, it’s coming off a 1-0 loss to Brazil, the favorite to win the tournament. That loss was in a much better performance than it put forth in the 4-goal defeat it suffered against Brazil in the Group Stage.

Colombia vs. Peru: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Colombia -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Peru +325 (bet $100 to win $325) | Draw +230
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +100 | U: -135)

Place your legal, online 2021 Copa America bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV and Washington D.C., at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Prediction

Colombia 2, Peru 1

Money line (ML)

BET on COLOMBIA (-115) because it’s the much better side.

While Peru hung with Brazil, it never felt as though Brazil was going to lose or even concede a goal. The favorite should have won 3-0 but managed to win with just a single tally.

As for Colombia, it played a tight match with Argentina. With Juventus MF Juan Cuadrado and Atalanta F Duván Zapata leading the way, it should out-class Peru.

As long as Colombia plays its top lineup, it should come out on top in 90 minutes.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (+100) as the best value in this match.

Peru didn’t get on the board against Brazil, but that was against one of the best sides in the world after a strong run in the tournament.

The Over hit in four of Peru’s six matches thus far; in the two games which cashed the Under, one was against Brazil and the other was a game Peru won 1-0 against Venezuela. Peru beat Colombia 2-1 earlier in this tournament, with an own goal and a penalty boosting the total.

Colombia scored in four of its six games, including against Brazil Wednesday. It has a few talented strikers who should find the back of the net Friday.

Expect at least 3 goals to be scored, just like the last time these two teams met.
