USWNT vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s USWNT vs. Colombia odds and lines, with soccer expert picks, predcitions and best bets.

The USWNT welcomes Colombia to Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego Sunday. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the USWNT vs. Colombia odds, and make our  best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

The USWNT had a disappointing 2023 Women’s World Cup. It barely made it through the group stage, but it lost to Sweden in the Round of 16 in penalty kicks. It was a discouraging finish for the top-ranked country. The USWNT played 2 friendlies against South Africa in September, winning 5-0, and then drew Colombia 0-0 Thursday in Sandy, Utah.

Colombia was among the most surprising teams in the Women’s World Cup. It beat South Korea 2-0 and Germany 2-1 in the group stage. It went on to win its Round of 16 game against Jamaica and ultimately lost 2-1 to England in the quarter-final. It held the USWNT to just 2 shots on target Thursday, displaying that dynamic defense. It ranks 22nd in FIFA Women’s Rankings (USWNT sits 3rd).

USWNT vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

USWNT 2, Colombia 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

The USWNT has elite talent, but the coaching has seemed to struggling pairing these players together to make a quality on-field product.

At -550, there’s no value taking the USWNT to win outright after a draw Thursday against the same opponent. Given that talent, I would avoid any Colombia-backing play as well.

Carry on to the total for the value in this match.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 3.5 (-190).

Colombia’s defense is no joke. It allowed multiple goals to just England in the Women’s World Cup and gave up 2 goals in its prior 4 matches in that event. On Thursday, it allowed just 2 shots on goal and 9 shots in total to the USWNT. There’s no reason not to expect a similar performance here.

The USWNT has a top-tier defense and hasn’t allowed a goal in any of its 3 friendlies following the high-profile event. Even at the World Cup, it allowed just 1 goal in 4 matches. Offensively, the USWNT has scored 5 goals in 3 friendlies over the last 2 months. Getting numerous goals will be a tough order.

Back UNDER 3.5 (-190) here.

USWNT vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s USWNT vs. Colombia odds and lines, with soccer expert picks, predcitions and best bets.

The USWNT welcomes Colombia to America First Field in Sandy, Utah, Thursday. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the USWNT vs. Colombia odds, and make our  best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

The USWNT made it through the group stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, but it lost to Sweden in the Round of 16 in penalty kicks, a brutal finish for the top-ranked country. Since then, the USWNT has played 2 friendlies, both against South Africa, winning a combined 5-0. F Lynn Williams and F Trinity Rodman both scored 2 goals each.

Colombia had a highly impressive Women’s World Cup showing. It beat South Korea 2-0 and Germany 2-1 in the group stage. It went on to win its Round of 16 game against Jamaica and ultimately lost 2-1 to England in the quarter-final. This will be Colombia’s 1st game since the World Cup. It ranks 22nd in FIFA Women’s Rankings (USWNT sits 3rd).

USWNT vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

USWNT 2, Colombia 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

The USWNT has high-level talent, and it should come out on top, especially at home. However, at -900, there’s absolutely no value in backing it to simply win outright.

Carry on to the total for the value in this match.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+188).

Colombia should be rested and had a strong defense in its World Cup showing. It allowed multiple goals just once, to England in the quarterfinals. Other than that match, it allowed 2 combined goals to South Korea, Germany, Morocco and Jamaica. It should be able to keep the USWNT from scoring frequently.

Similarly, the USWNT hasn’t allowed a goal since, having competed 3 times following the World Cup. During World Cup action, it allowed just 1 goal in all 4 matches. It also has a strong backline. Against South Africa in September friendlies, the USWNT never scored more than 3 goals.

Ultimately, this should be a competitive game which suggests fewer goals will be scored. Back UNDER 2.5 (+188) for a chance to nearly double-up.

2023 Women’s World Cup: England vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s England vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

England and Colombia meet Saturday in a quarterfinals matchup of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Kickoff from Stadium Australia is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the England vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

England is looking to get back to the semifinals which is where the Lionesses made it last World Cup before bowing out against Sweden in 2019.

England posted a win on penalties after a scoreless draw in full-time against Nigeria in the Round of 16 on Monday. The match was anything but uneventful, however, as forward Lauren James was shown a red card and has been banned for 2 matches after stomping on the back of a fallen Nigeria defender.

Colombia posted a 1-0 win over Jamaica on Tuesday in the Round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals for the first time in that nation’s history. Colombia welcomes back fullback Manuela Vanegas after a 1-game suspension for a pair of yellow cards in the group stages.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +145 | U: -200)

England vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

England 0, Colombia 0

Moneyline (ML)

I am not sure who is going to come through on penalties, but I feel that’s how this quarterfinals match is going to be decided. As a result, DRAW (+260) is a tremendous value on the 3-way line, as you can multiply your initial wager by more than 2 1/2 times.

England was rather sluggish last time out against Nigeria, and Colombia plays a similar style. You can expect the South American side to play it rather close to the vest with tight defense while taking very few chances. It will toss a blanket on England, a team that was outshot by Nigeria last time out.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS.

Under 2.5 Goals (-200) is just too expensive. While there is very little chance we see the back of the net hit 3 or more times, you can’t risk twice as much as your return.

Instead, take a chance on UNDER 1.5 REGULAR TIME GOALS (+145) for a much better value. I am expecting Colombia to clamp down defensively and make it a nightmare for England to shake loose.

I also like the “halftime and full-time” prop, playing TIE/TIE (+350) for the opportunity to more than triple up. If this match does go to penalties, it will be very lucrative if you make this wager.

2023 Women’s World Cup: Colombia vs. Jamaica odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Colombia vs. Jamaica odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In the Round of 16, Colombia battles Jamaica Tuesday. Kickoff from Melbourne Rectangular Stadium is set for 4 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Colombia vs. Jamaica odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Colombia was among the surprise nations in the group stage. It won Group H with 2 wins and 1 loss, scoring 4 goals and conceding 2 while coming out of a difficult group that featured Germany and South Korea, neither of whom advanced. The 25th-ranked team in the FIFA Women’s rankings beat No. 2-ranked Germany 2-1 to help punch its ticket to the Round of 16.

Jamaica ranks 43rd in the world and came in 2nd place in Group F, trailing just France. Jamaica finished with 1 goal for and 0 goals against, drawing 2 matches 0-0 and beating Panama 1-0 via a 56th-minute goal from D Allyson Swaby. It was one of 3 nations (Switzerland and Japan) to not allow a single goal in group play, although it managed just 6 shots on goal through the 3 matches.

Colombia vs. Jamaica picks and predictions

Prediction

Colombia 1, Jamaica 0

Moneyline (ML)

BET COLOMBIA (+110).

Colombia lost 1-0 to Morocco Thursday, but it beat top-20 nations South Korea and Germany in the group stage. Its match with Morocco didn’t matter for it to advance to the knockout stage. Colombia had 9 or more shots against both Germany and South Korea and should be able to break through the Jamaican defense.

Jamaica held France and Brazil scoreless, but it did give up 13 shots on frame in those games combined. Jamaica’s inability to really provide much offense is also concerning. In the 2 matches with star F Khadija Shaw, Jamaica didn’t score once. It likely won’t on Tuesday either.

Take COLOMBIA (+110).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 1.5 (+130).

There’s absolutely no reason to think goals will be scored in this match. Jamaica held two lethal attacks to 0 goals in the Group stage. Brazil had 32 shots on Panama in the group stage yet Jamaica held it scoreless. However, Jamaica’s offense didn’t produce either, scoring just 1 goal on a weak Panama side.

Colombia scored twice in 2 matches but had just 4 goals throughout the 3 matches as it was held off the board last time out. Its defense should hold Jamaica scoreless, and its attack wasn’t consistent enough to back here.

For this value, back UNDER 1.5 (+130).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Morocco vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Morocco vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Morocco (1 win, 0 draws, 1 loss) takes on Colombia (2-0-0) in both nation’s last group stage match Thursday. Kickoff from nib Stadium is set for 6 a.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Morocco was destroyed in its Group H opener, losing 6-0 to Germany. Germany ended with 16 shots and 7 on frame, which compared favorably to Morocco’s 6 and 4. Morocco did beat South Korea 1-0 Sunday. South Korea had 16 shots but none on frame. Morocco ended with 2 on frame and the lone goal of the game. Per the FIFA Women’s Ranking, Morocco sits as the 72nd-best nation.

Colombia has been among the most impressive nations at the World Cup. It sits 25th in the world yet took down No. 2 Germany. Colombia beat Germany 2-1 in its second match and South Korea 2-0 to open up its tournament play. It had more shots on goal than both its opponents, outnumbering Germany 4 to 2.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +120 | U: -165)

Morocco vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

Colombia 2, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Colombia has been very impressive so far, but the main concern is that it didn’t crush South Korea as it should’ve. It won 2-0, owning possession for 57% of the match and having just 2 more shots on frame. That should make bettors hesitant to back a (-200) favorite, especially one that sat outside of the top 20 nations before the tournament.

Similarly, Morocco has not played well and gave up 16 shots to South Korea. Expect Colombia to have a heyday with its porous defense. Ultimately, given the values, pass on a moneyline wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (+120).

Columbia’s offense has been dynamic while Morocco’s defense has been subpar. Columbia ended the match with 17 shots on South Korea. It had 9 on Germany. It has had 4 goals and 9 shots on goal through 2 matches. Colombia only needs a draw to win the group and could lay off the gas late.

Morocco allowed 16 shots to South Korea and Germany yet conceived only 2 goals. If Colombia gets off 16 shots, it should get at least 2 in the back of the net. Throughout the 2 matches, it also had 16 shots and put 6 of those on frame, so it isn’t too unlikely Morocco also finds a way to get on the board.

Morocco’s strength has not been its defense while Colombia has won so far with its press and technical finishing. Expect it to break through often. Take OVER 2.5 (+120).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Germany vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Germany vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Germany (1 win, 0 draws, 0 losses) battles Colombia (1-0-0) Sunday. Kickoff in the Group H match from Allianz Stadium is set for 5:30 a.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Germany vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Germany put a beatdown on Morocco in its 1st game, winning 6-0. It had 16 shots and 7 on target. It yielded Morocco just 6 shots and 4 on target. Germany ended with 75% of the game’s possession. Germany sits 2nd in the world per the FIFA Women’s Rankings. F Alexandra Popp had 2 goals in Germany’s 1st match, and she could be a candidate for the Golden Boot.

Colombia beat South Korea in its opener 2-0 Monday. It ended with 17 shots and 5 on target, possessing for 57% of the match. South Korea ended with just 5 shots and 3 on frame. Colombia sits 25th in the rankings. Korea sits 17th, so it was a solid win for Colombia. With a win, Colombia can advance to the knockout stage.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -160 | U: +115)

Germany vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 2, Colombia 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Germany is the better side here, and it is among the most technically gifted teams in the world.

However, it was able to get some help from a sloppy Morocco defense, which allowed 2 own goals, so expect a somewhat closer match. At (-450), there is little value in betting Germany to win, but it should be too much better in the final third to bet again.

The books also heavily expected Germany to be the only side to score with BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE NO (-185), which also isn’t worth the juice.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+115).

Both sides showed a strong defensive acumen in their respective opener. Both teams held their opponent scoreless. Colombia allowed just 3 shots on target, which should bode well against a high-octane German attack.

Books already assume Colombia won’t score, and Germany held Morocco to just 4 shots on goal and 25% possession. That might be a similar story Sunday. The last time Germany scored 3 or more goals, before its match with Morocco, was Sept. 6, 2022.

It isn’t necessarily a scoring machine, and Colombia held up well against a top-25 South Korea side. That said, back the UNDER 2.5 (+115).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Colombia vs. South Korea odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Colombia vs. South Korea odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[anyclip pubname=”2129″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8190″]

In the Group H opener for both nations, Colombia and South Korea meet Monday at Sydney Football Stadium in the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Colombia vs. South Korea odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Colombia, runners-up at the Copa America tournament in 2022, kicks off its 3rd-ever World Cup appearance. The team is led by captain Daniela Montoya, while 18-year-old phenom Linda Caicedo will also figure in prominently.

South Korea will be making its 4th-ever World Cup appearance. It reached the final in the Women’s Asian Cup in 2022, but it is looking to make history in this tournament. It has won just 1 previous match in its previous 10 FIFA Women’s World Cup matches. South Korea has also never had a clean sheet in the World Cup, while failing to score a goal in each of the previous 3 opening matches.

  • Over/Under: 1.5 (O: -190 | U: +135)

Colombia vs. South Korea picks and predictions

Prediction

Colombia 1, South Korea 1

Moneyline (ML)

This is a very important opening match for both sides, as neither can afford to squander any points in a group which also includes favorite Germany and  Morocco. Look for both Colombia (+188) and South Korea (+155) to play it rather close to the vest, with a DRAW (+195) the most likely outcome.

Over/Under (O/U)

Over 1.5 goals (-190) is not a recommended play, nor is the alternate line of Under 2.5 goals (-225). Both are just too expensive. I am expecting a total of just 2 goals, and neither play is particularly attractive.

Under the Both Teams To Score and Total Goals section, you’ll find the best value. Play YES AND UNDER 4.5 GOALS (+145), as both sides should find the back of the net, but 5 or more combined goals is very unlikely.

USA vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USA vs. Colombia odds and lines, with USMNT expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The United States Men’s National Team battles the Colombia Men’s National Team Saturday in Los Angeles. Kickoff from Dignity Health Sports Park is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we preview Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the USA vs. Serbia odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

The USMNT won’t have many familiar faces as this call-up roster seems more primed to showcase the next group of talent for the USA. The USMNT played Wednesday and lost 2-1 to Serbia, striking first on a goal by F Brandon Vazquez, who was making his first cap for USA. They did have 9 more shots yet had 1 fewer strike on goal. USMNT dominated possession with 62%.

Colombia, on the other hand, missed the 2022 World Cup. Their last competition was March 29, a 1-0 win over Venezuela. While this also won’t be Colombia’s A team, they do have talent with Columbus Crew F Cucho Hernandez, who scored 9 goals in 16 matches and completed changed the Crew’s season last year. They will also be the far fresher side as the USMNT played Wednesday.

USA vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

USA 2, Colombia 2

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN DRAW (+225).

The USMNT showed a better-than-expected ability to get into the Serbian back line and get shots, but they struggled to finish. With so many players new to the roster, that should be expected. However, with 20 shots, they should be able to convert more against Colombia. Also, F Jesus Ferreira, who didn’t play Wednesday, should see time.

Colombia will have talent on their roster with Hernandez and talented LAFC F Chicho Arango. Both sides should be able to push forward, and with Colombia sitting 17th in the world rankings, they should present a challenge for the USMNT.

I expect to see some more of the USMNT more talented players like Ferreira, and at this value, a DRAW (+225) is how I’d play the moneyline.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (+115).

The USMNT started D Walker Zimmerman Wednesday, and he is their best defender. They may opt to give D Sam Rogers more time along with potentially seeing M Paxten Aaronson. Players like Aaronson and Ferreira should bring pace while Colombia is going to have its own talented attackers.

Arango had 16 goals in 28 starts last season for LAFC. He can get into the final third with ease, and the combination of Arango and Hernandez could be trouble. Considering the talent that should be on display, back the OVER 2.5 (+115).

Copa America: Colombia vs. Peru odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Colombia vs. Peru odds and lines, with Copa America betting picks, tips and predictions.

In Friday’s third-place match of Copa America, Colombia takes on Peru. The match is set for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia, Brazil. Below, we preview the Colombia vs. Peru odds and lines, and make our best Copa America picks and predictions.

Colombia is coming off a disappointing loss to Argentina. It hung with the more talented side through 90 minutes but lost 3-2 in penalty kicks. It has been an impressive run.

As for Peru, it’s coming off a 1-0 loss to Brazil, the favorite to win the tournament. That loss was in a much better performance than it put forth in the 4-goal defeat it suffered against Brazil in the Group Stage.

Colombia 2, Peru 1

Money line (ML)

BET on COLOMBIA (-115) because it’s the much better side.

While Peru hung with Brazil, it never felt as though Brazil was going to lose or even concede a goal. The favorite should have won 3-0 but managed to win with just a single tally.

As for Colombia, it played a tight match with Argentina. With Juventus MF Juan Cuadrado and Atalanta F Duván Zapata leading the way, it should out-class Peru.

As long as Colombia plays its top lineup, it should come out on top in 90 minutes.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (+100) as the best value in this match.

Peru didn’t get on the board against Brazil, but that was against one of the best sides in the world after a strong run in the tournament.

The Over hit in four of Peru’s six matches thus far; in the two games which cashed the Under, one was against Brazil and the other was a game Peru won 1-0 against Venezuela. Peru beat Colombia 2-1 earlier in this tournament, with an own goal and a penalty boosting the total.

Colombia scored in four of its six games, including against Brazil Wednesday. It has a few talented strikers who should find the back of the net Friday.

Expect at least 3 goals to be scored, just like the last time these two teams met.

Copa America: Argentina vs. Colombia odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s Argentina vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Copa America betting picks, tips and predictions.

In the second of two semifinals matches of Copa America, Lionel Messi and Argentina face Colombia Tuesday with a 9 p.m. ET kickoff at Estádio Nacional in Brasilia, Brazil. Below, we preview the Argentina vs. Colombia odds and lines and make our best Copa America picks and predictions.

One of the favorites coming into the tournament, Argentina just defeated Ecuador 3-0 to claim its semifinals spot. It had 3 wins and a draw in the Group Stage.

No. 8 in FIFA World Rankings, Argentina draws the third-best side left in the tournament in Colombia. It’s 15th in the FIFA rankings.

Colombia had just one win with two losses and a draw in the Group Stage. It then barely survived Uruguay in the quarterfinals, defeating the Luis Suárez-led side 4-2 in penalties. Colombia will need its luck to continue to get through arguably the world’s best player.

Prediction

Argentina 2, Colombia 1

Money line (ML)

BET on ARGENTINA (-120) as the best bet on the money line. Argentina is, by far, the more skilled side.

It’s more than just Messi. Twenty-three-year-old winger Nicolás González could be the future of the country’s program with F Sergio Aguero potentially coming off the bench.

Argentina’s defense is also solid with experienced D Nicolás Otamendi leading the backline.

Now, Colombia has some talent on its side as well, but unless the Atalanta duo up top can sustain some pressure, I’d expect Argentina to win in regulation time.

Colombia hasn’t looked great this tournament and should fold against an experienced and high-quality opponent. Bet the favorite in this one, especially at -120.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 2.5 (+130) as the better value; however, I don’t love the odds, especially with Colombia coming off a quarterfinals match in which no goals were scored.

I’d still put my trust in Messi helping his side get at least 2 goals. Colombia scored in three of its five matches while Argentina had 3 or more goals in two of its five games.

It’s a risk as Colombia’s attack hasn’t looked great for most of the tournament, but if Argentina can get one early and push the pace, everything should go its way.
