Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Super Bowl LV Prediction and Picks

Prediction

Chiefs 33, Buccaneers 28

Super Bowl money line (?)

Brady is widely considered the greatest quarterback of all time, but a head-to-head win by Mahomes and a second straight Super Bowl for the Chiefs would leave that conversation open.

What Tampa Bay does best on defense is eliminate the run game. Against Kansas City, that only puts the ball in Mahomes’ hands more often. He also has the mobility and athleticism to evade Tampa Bay’s pass rush, which ranked fifth by ESPN’s Team Pass Rush Win Rate.

Take the CHIEFS (-175) to go back-to-back and win Super Bowl 55.

New to sports betting? As the Super Bowl LV favorite, you’d need to bet $175 at -175 odds on the Chiefs to win in order to profit $100. -175 represents a 63.64% implied odds of winning, or 4/7 fractional odds.

Also see: Super Bowl Prop Bets

Super Bowl against the spread (?)

The Buccaneers’ best hope in Super Bowl 55 is to keep Mahomes and the Chiefs offense off the field. They’ll look to feed RBs Ronald Jones II and Leonard Fournette as often as possible.

Brady also has plenty of receiving weapons capable of working the clock via the passing game, but it will all be for naught against Mahomes, head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. If the Chiefs are able to get a lead, they’ll then turn to rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire to drain the clock and keep Brady away from an attempted comeback.

Back KANSAS CITY -3.5 (-105) to win by at least 4 points.

If you’re new to sports betting, in order for a bet on the Chiefs ATS to cash, they need to win by at least 4 points. If they win by three or less, it would be a losing bet slip.

Super Bowl Over/Under (?)

As mentioned, the Chiefs fell shy of the projected line in last year’s championship game, though that was mostly the fault of the 49ers.

Expect a high-flying aerial attack in perfect conditions in Tampa, Fla. We’re backing the Chiefs to win, so we’re also expecting Mahomes to be at his best.

Take the OVER 56.5 (-110) with Brady and the Bucs doing more to contribute to the total than bettors received from the Niners last year.

If you are new to sports betting, betting the Over would require both teams to combine for at least 57 points for an Over bet to win.

$2.3M bet placed on Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover in Super Bowl LV

A Vegas sports bettor has placed a huge wager on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover in Super Bowl LV.

There are all kinds of awesome things surrounding Super Bowl odds and betting, from funky Super Bowl prop bets to a moving line to huge Super Bowl bets. While we’ll have plenty on Super Bowl LV prop bets and odds in the coming week, lets take a look at one of those large Super Bowl Bets.

And when we say large, we mean a humongous bet…

According to BetMGM Sportsbook, a Nevada sports bettor placed a $2.3 million bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +3.5.

Yes, two-point-three-million dollars! That’s a lot of faith in the Super Bowl underdog Tom Brady and the Bucs.

New to sports betting? If the Buccaneers outright beat the Kansas City Chiefs OR lose by three points or less, that $2.3 million wager will return a $2 million profit. You know, what most of us find under our couch cushions during spring cleaning.

Can you even imagine cashing a betting slip for $4.3 million?

BetMGM was happy to see the bet come in of course, especially since they’ve already received several six-figure bets on the Chiefs, according to Jason Scott, VP of Trading for BetMGM Sportsbook.

Place your legal, online NFL bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV at BetMGM, The King of Sportsbooks. New customer offer: Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet online now!

During the regular season, the Buccaneers were 9-7-0 against the spread (ATS) overall. They were 5-3 ATS at home. During the NFL Playoffs, the Bucs are 2-1 ATS, putting their full-season mark at 11-8.

The Buccaneers were 10-point favorites in the Wild Card Weekend vs. the Washington Football Team, but weren’t able to cover, winning 31-23. The Bucs were underdogs against the New Orleans Saints, where they won 30-20. They were also underdogs last weekend against the Green Bay Packers, a 31-26 Tampa Bay victory.

Other sizeable Super Bowl LV wagers at BetMGM include:

  • $180,000 to win $100,000 on the Chiefs (-180)
  • $115,000 to win $100,000 on the Chiefs at -3.5 (-115)
  • $110,000 to win $100,000 on the Chiefs at -3.5 (-110)

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going start a GoFundMe page to see if we can top that $2.3 million wager.

Super Bowl LV: Kansas City Chiefs favored over Tampa Bay Buccaneers to repeat as champs

The Kansas City Chiefs are the betting favorites in Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Super Bowl LV is set. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14-5) will face the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (16-2). Tampa Bay will be the first Super Bowl team to play in its home stadium. Kickoff is set for Sunday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. Below, we take a look at the early Chiefs-Buccaneers betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Bucs took the tough route to the big game, making the playoffs as a Wild Card team and winning three consecutive road games. They knocked off the No. 1 seed Green Bay Packers 31-26 in the NFC Championship Game. QB Tom Brady will make his 10th Super Bowl appearance and seeks his seventh title – the 43-year-old threw three touchdown passes in the Packers win. However, he also threw three second-half interceptions, but the Tampa Bay defense only allowed six points off those turnovers.

The Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl for a second year in a row. They defeated the visiting Buffalo Bills in the AFC title game 38-24. QB Patrick Mahomes passed for 325 yards and three TDs, WR Tyreek Hill had nine catches for 172 yards and TE Travis Kelce finished with 13 receptions for 118 yards and 2 scores. The Chiefs held the Bills to 5 of 14 on third downs to repeat as AFC champs.

Ravens tie Chiefs for top Super Bowl LV odds ahead of training camp

The Baltimore Ravens got a bump in the odds, finally tying the Kansas City Chiefs for the best odds to win Super Bowl LV.

Oddsmakers are finally feeling the Baltimore Ravens as completely as they should this season, tying for the best odds to win Super Bowl LV.

After sitting behind the Kansas City Chiefs for months, something finally changed to get at least one oddsmaker on board the Ravens’ bandwagon. The last time we checked the odds was right after the 2020 NFL Draft, the last real meaningful change to the rosters. But now, BetMGM has placed +650 odds on both Baltimore and Kansas City, with the San Francisco 49ers coming in third at +800. Furthermore, BetMGM has placed the best odds on the AFC North to win Super Bowl LV, tying the division with the NFC West at +400.

Since nothing has really changed with any of the teams since the 2020 NFL Draft, oddsmakers might be feeling the Ravens will do a better job with the coronavirus restrictions. Unlike previous seasons, training camp is the first time the players and coaches will have gotten together since the end of last season. Continuity in the coaching staff and rosters, along with any private offseason work players are doing could all have far bigger impacts this season than in previous ones.

Baltimore is returning 10 of 11 starters on offense, while retaining nearly all of their key defensive contributors. At the same time, the Ravens have revamped their defensive line with the additions of Calais Campbell and Derek Wolfe as well as bolstering the linebacker corps with rookies Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison. The addition of wide receivers Devin Duvernay and James Proche along with running back J.K. Dobbins in the 2020 NFL Draft could pay huge dividends for what was the highest-scoring offense in the league last season.

Whatever the reasoning, at least one oddsmaker is finally putting the Ravens at the top of the pile. Now, it’s just up to Baltimore to live up to that hype.

2021 Super Bowl Odds: Cam Newton signing boosts Patriots

Looking at the updated betting odds to win the 2021 Super Bowl following the New England Patriots’ signing of QB Cam Newton.

[jwplayer 0RGHxBgJ]

Cam Newton finally has a home for the 2020 NFL season. The New England Patriots took a chance on the free agent and former MVP quarterback, by signing him to a zero-risk, one-year contract Sunday, June 28. The Patriots’ signing of Newton helped shift the betting odds to win Super Bowl LV, pulling the Pats even with the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks at +1800 – only five teams have lower odds, including Tom Brady’s new squad, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1400).

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Patriots to win Super Bowl LV will return a profit of $180. See the full Super Bowl LV betting odds at BetMGM below.

How Cam Newton affects Patriots’ futures odds

The signing of Newton caused changes throughout the Patriots’ 2020 futures odds at BetMGM.

They went from +115 to +110 to win the AFC East, and from +900 to +800 to win the AFC.

Their 2020 win total now sits at 9.5 with +105 for the OVER and -125 for the UNDER. They are -223 to make the playoffs and +180 to miss the postseason.

Additionally, Newton has soared to +2500 to be named the 2020 NFL MVP. He is +4000 to be named Offensive Player of the Year and +450 to be the Comeback Player of the Year – ranking as the second favorite behind Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (+350).

Ravens have 2nd-best odds to win Super Bowl LV after 2020 NFL Draft

After a masterful 2020 NFL Draft that saw the Baltimore Ravens pick 10 great players, oddsmakers believe in them to win Super Bowl LV.

[jwplayer CxqcH1C2-ThvAeFxT]

The Baltimore Ravens were widely considered to have one of the best hauls from the 2020 NFL Draft. They addressed key needs, found long-term replacements, and bolstered both their offensive and defensive lines. Their 10-man draft class earned rave reviews at the time and it has oddsmakers still believing in them . . . albeit still not enough to surpass the Kansas City Chiefs, who have the best odds to win Super Bowl LV.

According to BetMGM, Baltimore has the second-best odds to win Super Bowl LV. The +700 odds fall right behind the Chiefs’ +650, outpacing the third-place San Francisco 49ers at +900.

The Ravens found their new starting linebacker in Patrick Queen, who they selected in the first round. With Baltimore’s legacy of first-round linebackers all exceeding expectations, Queen is expected to kickstart his NFL career in a big way in the middle of the Ravens’ defense. Wide receiver Devin Duvernay is also expected to see the field as a rookie and provide even more speed to Baltimore’s dangerous offense. Running back J.K. Dobbins might not get a ton of playing time as a rookie despite his second-round draft status, but he seems to be the eventual heir to Mark Ingram as early as next season. Offensive linemen Tyre Phillips and Ben Bredeson will be thrust into the competition for starting jobs this offseason while providing much-needed versatility at a few different spots.

For as good of a draft class as the Ravens got, their odds didn’t actually improve any from beforehand. Both Kansas City and Baltimore have the same exact odds as from back in February. Though that could be because the Chiefs also had a pretty solid draft, somehow getting even faster with the selections of running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, linebacker Willie Gay, and safety L’Jarius Sneed.

If you’re a big believer in what Baltimore did in the 2020 NFL Draft and think they’ll be able to get over the hump to win Super Bowl LV, it could lead to quite a windfall. According to BetMGM, a $100 bet on the Ravens would return $700 on top of your money if they won Super Bowl LV.

What are the odds the San Francisco 49ers will win Super Bowl LV?

Breaking down the San Francisco 49ers odds of winning Super Bowl LV.

[jwplayer cLm2Z5wU]

Do the San Francisco 49ers, who represented the NFC in last season’s Super Bowl, have what it takes to win it all this year? We look at the sports betting odds around their chances of being the 2021 Super Bowl champions.

The joy of the preseason is that all fan bases – OK, almost all of them – have hope their favorite team will be holding the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the year. However, there can only be one…

San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl LV odds

According to the oddsmakers at BetMGM sportsbook, the 49ers Super Bowl odds are at +800 to win the championship this season. In fractional odds, that’s 8/1. It implies the team has a 0.1111 chance of winning.

Are you new to sports betting? Future odds like these give sports bettors, both experienced and casual, the opportunity to place an early wager on the team(s) they think will be this season’s NFL champion. As the year passes, the odds will move – the better a team becomes in the eyes of the oddsmakers, the shorter the odds will become. The worse a team looks, the longer the odds will be. If a team starts to receive a large number of bets on them, sportsbooks will also start to move the lines up and down to help cover their bases, too. By placing a bet early, it gives you the opportunity to receive a better potential return on your wager assuming those odds will later become shorter and, more importantly, less profitable.

A $100 wager on the 49ers at +800 odds returns a profit of $800 should the 49ers go on to win the Super Bowl this year.

Here’s a look at the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl odds with Tom Brady

Now that quarterback Tom Brady is expected to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, take a look at the team’s Super Bowl odds heading into 2020.

In case you missed it, Tom Brady will be the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at the very least for the 2020 NFL season.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, the Buccaneers are now sitting with 22/1 odds to win the Super Bowl, pitting them as the eighth-favorite team to hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy — at their own stadium no less. The top 10 teams are as follows:

  • Kansas City Chiefs- 4/1
  • San Francisco 49ers- 7/1
  • Baltimore Ravens- 8/1
  • Dallas Cowboys- 11/1
  • Seattle Seahawks/New Orleans Saints- 14/1
  • Green Bay Packers- 16/1
  • New England Patriots 20/1
  • Buccaneers/Philadelphia Eagles- 22/1

Of course, this is where the Buccaneers currently stand, and it could be set to shift more in favor of the Buccaneers if they make any other big splashes in free agency and grade well in the upcoming draft.

With Super Bowl LV being played at Raymond James Stadium, Brady signing with the Buccaneers makes them legitimate contenders in the league. The talk of this team being the first to play a Super Bowl on their home field has certainly increased ten-fold.

Bills open with mid-level odds to win 2021 Super Bowl

Buffalo Bills opening odds for the 2021 Super Bowl, Super Bowl LV.

The odds aren’t great that the Buffalo Bills win the 2020 Super Bowl since only the Chiefs, Titans, Packers and 49ers are left in the current postseason race.

But the Bills and rest of NFL are still eligible for the 2021 Super Bowl. In those odds, the Bills land some middle of the pack chances to win Super Bowl LV, according to BetOnline.

The Bills open with 40/1 odds to take home the next title. Last season, Buffalo opened at 66/1 odds.

Two of the final three teams left in the hunt for the current Super Bowl, the Chiefs and the 49ers, are among the top-three odds at 7/1 and 8/1, respectively. The Ravens, who were eliminated last week in a shocker by the Titans, have 8/1 odds.

Of the 12 teams that made the postseason in 2019, the Bills have the second-worst numbers. Interestingly, the only team that’s a longer shot than Buffalo, is the still currently playing Titans, at 50/1.

In addition, a few teams that missed the playoffs this season have better odds than the Bills. That grouping includes the Cowboys (16/1), Falcons (25/1), Bears (25/1), Chargers (25/1), Rams (25/1), Browns (33/1) and Colts (33/1).

Here’s the full breakdown:
